Please list your favorite places to obtain kava. I use kratom and am interested in trying Kava and really trust the people on this site so i figured id ask everyone to share where they get their kava from.

If there is a specific way you prepare kava please provide that as well. I dont know much about the process of dosing so please be as specific as possible.

Buying Kava is different than buying kratom, there are cheap types of Tudei Kava around, that IS harmful to your health.. can rot your liver basically. Google Tudei Kava for more info... Just ordered from kalmwithkava.com direct, 8oz fiji loa strain micronized. Will follow up with review once it arrives. I noticed they sell on amazon after making the purchase, you can get 3 of the 2oz micronized for 45 bucks on amazon. I paid 52plus8shipping for 8oz on their site, so its the same either way but i wish i would have got the samples so i could compare strains. I usually like buying larger sized because of the savings, so i thought that buying the larger would have saved me but turns out their amazon store sells the sample pack for the same price, if you get an 8oz on amazon its actually less, like55 bucks for 8oz free ship with prime so i could have saved 5 bucks. Ill let you know how long it took to arrive, might be faster ordering direct.

Any feedback on that kava yet? Anxious to hear what you think

Favorite was always Gourmet Hawaiian. Strong and clean.

Recently purchased Kalm with Kava Vanuatu Melomelo (micronized). I dose about 2 teaspoons on an empty
stomach. I get 5 minutes of slight stimulation, then it seems to level out to a decent feeling of relaxation.
It’s not strong like kratom, much more gentle in its effects. Its been replacing my late PM kratom dose.

I believe Fused Flora carries kava! I haven't tried it, myself, but have read great things about it.

Be careful if you buy extracts that they specify that they carry all noble/all root and core and I suggest Co2 based > alcohol or water.

We offer waxes that are all noble, root and core, Co2 based 60-80% kavalactone extracts if you are interested. I think Kalm with kava carries them as well as a few other places i'm sure.

I definitely recommend buying kava from a vendor that specializes in kava and has a relationship with the grower/source. Kalm with kava, gourmet Hawaiian kava, and kava vinaka are my favorites personally.

I'll add to this in case it helps and also because I'd love to hopefully find a good vendor with micronized or CO2 extracted noble, heady?(uplifting not sedating) Kava at a budget price.
I've tried several Kalm with Kava, they have a great selection and some samplers, but a little costly. Great quality and the micronized "instant" made kava much more accessible. MBC Kava Korner (despite their name Kratom is more their thing, and a favorite vendor of mine. (If I had one complaint with MBC: too many sales and discounts? Scratch that, no complaints). They have instant Kava at a great price although not really "micronized", more fine ground, but still easy to mix without straining. There's also a poly-gold (CO2 extracted, 70% ?) that is excellent. Simple to mix and great effects. It would be nice if there was more information on Kava and that the poly gold was more affordable but otherwise MBC is my favorite. Anyone have suggestions that might be better (for cheap, uplifting, quality Kava?)

Thank you for the tip! Seems slightly more expensive than MBC, ($13/oz) but I like that there's more options for quantity and percentage. MBC just has 30% and traditional kava. And if you want to purchase more than 1 oz, it's$110 for 250g, which is a pretty steep jump. I'm definitely going to give it a try. Question, how do you take the CO2 kava extracts? I never figured out how best to drink it, sometimes it would dissolve easily, other times it'd clump up...

Be careful using kava and kratom together often if you use leaf daily. Kava has a liver enzyme inhibitor that will wreck your tolerance by causing the kratom alks not not break down like they normally do. Its advised to use the kava after your last dose of the day and cutting back on your first dose of the next day. Even following this kava still stays in your system for a long long time, so Kava is great but make sure you space out the combo and follow the steps to avoid destroying your tolerance. Trust me its not fun. Having said that Shield Kava and Fiji Fresh I enjoy a lot. Now if you only use leaf a few days out of the week you could use some kava and kratom together and get a nice potentiation but don't fall in love with that combo or you will pay the piper big time. Crap. Thank you for the info. I wasn't aware of the contradictory effects. I take kratom daily for pain, I was taking kava occasionally as a substitute for alcohol but noticed something wonky when I took both so stopped. You're a lifesaver, friend!

Hmm I’ve taken them together for many years and not experienced any tolerance issues. They go really well together. Sometimes Kava will mask some of the kratom effects but that’s about it.

doesn't look like op returned to give his experience on Amazon kava. I was wondering the same thing, because they have some variety on there now. I'm not into kava, never ordered it, only tried it a couple times as samples in kratom orders. just don't want to buy bunk.

thanks for the link, price doesn't seem bad. what is a common dosage for this kind of kava? I did a brief search and most sites say something like 50-200mg, which doesn't seem right. if that's the case, then the 4oz/112g for $27 would be an unbelievably good deal.

I have not found any useful recommended dosages from the back of a bag. Trial and error but less error with this type. It suggests 1 tablespoon, I would take three and use a coffee beverage hand mixer to spin the shit out of it (not official Hawaiian terminology). You may find that you prefer it as a shot, try that. The vibe/feels leave kind of quick, IMO. You might make a 3rd or 4th of that type of shot for a session.

The 8 ounce bag would probably give you 10 sessions.

I saw something similar to this get posted on the general kratom discussion so wanted to check into this. I have only recently been taking kava regularly. However I have also noticed my nighttime burns not hitting as much and now I am wondering if this is why. Sigh.

I highly recommend and use Ofa's kava , for an awesome Tongan. Top of my list for a long time now. Good price for quality imo

it's expensive, but so are other powders, this works out to give you the best. lab rat, our sainted former leader, ordered some and said it was an experience like no other.

otherwise i'd go with gourmethawaiiankava, but the price is rich too, and it's dehydrated juice as opposed to the fruity root itself. and ghk is always sold out. i had got to try it, and it's very good, but for the price diff, my next buy will be from pu'uhoku. i imagine a pineapple flavor.

labrat from the kava mewe group tried it, loved it, best he ever had. and it is expensive, but a bag of dehydrated from gourmet hawaiian kava..sold out so no price listed.. but farm grown on moloka'i is frozen 5 half pound bags (more if you ship to continental US).
