My friends who have tried the green bone 16 don’t care for it, they say the 18 is much better… YLYL just put up the red Thai yesterday for the first time, so I don’t think anyone has tried that yet. If you want to see reviews of the 2019/2020 sosa leaf, use the search bar. “Sosa green bone f16” and “sosa red thai”Brandolini wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 5:53 pm Hey all, has anyone tried Philly’s Sosa green bone 16 and red Thai discount strains and can offer any insight?

those discount YLYL strains are going to disappear soon so if you want to try them, there probably won't be enough time for someone to leave a review that you can look at and buy after. those strains go fast.

Re: Sosa 2019 Agus green bone 16 and red Thai reviews?
any reviews of the recent posted strains? specifically interested in reviews for the dark elephant.
the green horn and the red bone 18 were both great, but the green horn was a standout. the yellow MD didn't have much of an effect for me. in general, yellows always miss for me, I don't know if it's something specific with the drying process, but I never buy them. I had read good things about the old yellow MD from early reviews on this site, so I gave it a try, but nothing.
but with the excellent pricing, I got a full kilo that is high quality for $90 (not counting the yellow) which is plenty worth it.

Do you mean $60 for full kilo? Each 500g was $30. I got green horn, dark elephant, white borneo and agus green 16 on the way. I tried the 1st 3 and all are decent but difficult to gauge because I'm trying so much new stuff including Philly's own.

no I meant because my 1/2kilo of yellow MD doesn't do anything, I look at it like instead of getting 1.5k of some leaf that works and some doesnt for 90, I got 1k of leaf that works well for $90. basically just ignoring the yellow MD. since I often only have a success rate of 50% when buying split kilos (2 strains good, 2 don't work), I'll usually only end up with a half kilo that I like.
it doesn't really matter, just a way of me saying that even though a half kilo of the Sosa didn't work, I still got a really good deal on the other two halves.

Re: Sosa 2019 Agus green bone 16 and red Thai reviews?
I just got my order of the g16, g18 green bones and the red Thai in today, I’ll report back tomorrow and the next day. Gonna try the g18 in the morning and see how she slaps! I did see someone say the g16 was not great according to their friends (or not as great at the 18) but I’m still giving them all a fair, unbiased shot nonetheless. Id like to think I have a pretty decent gauge for what’s good and not, with moderately high standards so we’ll see! I didn’t order the yellow cuz I’m usually not into whatever blend or true yellows most vendors I’ve tried have, sorry to hear it wasn’t great for youadd to descartes wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 1:42 pmno I meant because my 1/2kilo of yellow MD doesn't do anything, I look at it like instead of getting 1.5k of some leaf that works and some doesnt for 90, I got 1k of leaf that works well for $90. basically just ignoring the yellow MD. since I often only have a success rate of 50% when buying split kilos (2 strains good, 2 don't work), I'll usually only end up with a half kilo that I like.

if the red thai is indeed the same as the dark elephant, it's a decent slow strain, but doesn't stand out.

Yeah the 16 wasn’t good. The 18 was pretty good, but I have better, haven’t tried the Thai or the others yet because I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of the bones.add to descartes wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 1:03 pmhow'd the green bones work out?Wingardiumspeciosa wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:00 pm Worst case scenario I have 2KG of tolerance reducing leaf![]()

there seems to be a lot of variation in quality within the discount strains. the ones like green horn and red bone are fire, but some of the others like yellow MD, and for you the green bones, don't seem to be that good. so don't give up on the red thai yet.

I have six 1/2 kg, one bought by mistake, had 4 out of the 6 of them on a table yesterday and they all look identical. I regret getting so much but it felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to try some leaf I never could've. The way some were sold out then suddenly back in stock ....

That’s one of the few I didn’t get. I heard the g Borneo was good though! The best ones for me were the green bone f18, red sunda, red Sumatra, green horn. Gf16 was crap, red Thai was OK and I didn’t get any of the others. I heard the baik bali was good, white Malay and horn, red bone too. Yeah I’m done buying them, the Borneo is still up but I’m not interested, I’d rather send my funds to the numerous small batch vendors that I love to supportadd to descartes wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 7:59 am anyone try the green borneo yet? still wondering about the red sunda. seems like the popularity of these discount sosa strains is waning.

An idea - Yellows are often much better as an add-in for blending. True for me and I've read many supporting comments over the years. Might be worth a shot dropping some in using something else as a base.add to descartes wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:31 am any reviews of the recent posted strains? specifically interested in reviews for the dark elephant.

thanks, that's good advice. when I first get a strain I try it solo, but after that i almost always do blends of two or three strains, so I plan on experimenting a little with it.Transformato wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 12:40 amAn idea - Yellows are often much better as an add-in for blending. Re: Sosa 2019 Agus green bone 16 and red Thai reviews?
I love the SOSA Red Thai. It is a bright, mood elevating day strain and on the faster end of the spectrum. It is an excellent analgesic.
In terms of speed, the Dark Elephant is mid, and the SOSA Red Sunda and Red Borneo are slow and euphoric. I have been mainlining the Red Sunda at night.
I also got the Red Sumatra, but think I need to sell it on the trading post. Although these purchases were smart for my fiscal future, they ultimately blasted my disability budget apart and so my unopened SOSA Red Sumatra will be sold. It's cool these amazing SOSA's will last me months, but the short term purchases was a little impulsive.
I can provide actual reviews, but my brain is melting. Coherent sentences now = vaguely winning.

Yep! I love it. It is slower and more euphoric, but blends well with a faster strain like the SOSA Red Thai.

Disappointed no one likes the f16, I have an unopened half key of that. I find it interesting that among many that most agree is good there's one most agree is not good considering the nature of this plant and body differences.Wingardiumspeciosa wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 4:26 pmThat’s one of the few I didn’t get.
