7ohm: 4 from the 2017 inventory

Post by Transformato »

I finally got some 7ohm into my collection right after Thanksgiving and I'm glad that I did.

It takes me a while to get a well rounded perspective on a batch but waiting too long- loses value to others so let's do this.
With new product- the stars fly so I'm not doing the 1-5 star thiing on this one because that's relative to different tastes.
These are from the 2017 batches. I had great luck with kratom buys that year so I couldn't wait to try these.

Elephant Green Malay / EGM - this is the faster one. Call it "the Crown"
Green Samarinda - Excellent. Also quite energetic.
Green Kalsel - marked "mood" I had to try it.
Red Sumatra - I'm still working on a clear perspective but I've got some notes on it. "fast red's" are a wild card.

Elephant Green Malay / EGM -

Main feature for me - Physically motivating, positive outlook, fun. Outstanding.
It's been a while since I had kratom that launched spontaneous on-foot adventures, exploring my area which has been taken for granted. That's what this did when I used it straight up (at a slightly lower than usual dose). EGM holds it's own in blends too, adding that enthusiasm and energy.

This inspired a renewed perspective, supported physical endurance and positive outlook. Awesome.

For days at the desk I'll blend some in but for GO days, it's straght up or as a base. Note that I don't like Not-blending (despite most batches being a blend already) so that's an elephant sized compliment. I think great for work outs, definitely long walks and striking errands off of the list without feeling like I'd rather be doing something else.

Green Samarinda

Not far off from the EGM! It is different but I found more energetic than many greens. Strong and vibrant. Upper end but not too high spec (that cold raw edge w/ potential anxiousness that a few greens produce) I'd say this is a well rounded driver with some serious kratom magic. Love it. Blending keeps sensitivity up so I'll be blending this one like most but for a faster one, using as a base - no problems.
So far- I'm liking this about the same as EGM.

I'm still getting a feel for the next two but here are my notes.

Green Kalsel

Also great but using by itself for a fist time (which can be deceptive), I thought it might be a bit high spec / cold which I thought strange for a "mood" "strain". After that- I used less with other stuff and I caught that good mood for sure. My cat thought I was nuts. Great.
Hard to analyze. The fastness is more cerebral / mental while also maybe a bit goofy. That first time kinda flew over my head, hitting a high note that I couldn't read.
Keep it in context- I almost always blend so using this the way I'm used to- I'm loving it and it's unique!

I've used 5 or 6 times now, increasing the amount each time with nothing unwanted and great results that are not muddled so what can I say? - If you're sensitive to some stuff (or have shifting perceptions).. counter balance, solve any problems because with kratom's variations, unlike products that are controlled, standardized and denatured-.. you can. Easily.

Red Sumatra

I'll update this as I figure it out. I use reds far less often so we're still getting to know each other.
Assume this is a "fast red". Fast + red = a different context.

I DID use it on it's own, one time, a bit less than typical dose
-I was pacing all over the place late night (was also brain storming) so I think it's really kinda fast. Almost any other red would make a different impression. Good mood. Wasn't drowsy at all- which is rare for a red used on it's own. One other fast red that worked this way the first time now hit's me slower so we'll see.

I owe you an update on this one.

Great reviews man! I have had my eyes on that Green Kasel so that's great what you said about it. And the EGM is an excellent strain always. I have a 7OHM Yellow Vietnam that is just way to fast for me when I mix it with certain strains. Maybe I should lower the dosage. But yeah I can order blindly from his menu and every strain I have tried usually hits fine. If it don't I can come back to it. I recently tried his Red Jambu and I love it. Great pain relief and mood lift. So I'm going to start getting more reds from him now. His menu is so expansive so it's nice to have reviews of his stock.

Ive been needing very specific benefits recently- or wants. I'm shifting down now so I'm ready to increase reds- I sedate too easily with some but I think I found what I was looking for with this one & I'll update..

On that yellow- yea it's oft about who you put together in the same room. Then knowing which ones buffer or amplify the other one.
Can also try to adjust within the same category if you have slower yellows. I've got a very fast yellow that I use to knock the drowsy effect off of a slow one / without killing it's personality (maybe try 1/3 buffer instead of half & half but whatever works). Either direction. It's a thought.
