Okies, and Dragons Den review

hey everyone! new here, and new to kratom! ill start with a review on how things have gone so far:


so i just got done going through okies and dragons den for the last month 1/2 on the hype train and i have to say im not impressed, my first experiences being with KRAVE from headshops and that didnt last very long after doing some research and noticing i wasnt experiencing any of the effects ever mentioned about kratom and only getting stomach cramps. After seeing some suggestions online to try ordering powder from the internet vs going to headshops i decided to place some orders on some of the more popular vendors thrown around. im very new to kratom but ive had some strains hit from okies to give me an idea of what im expecting to be feeling. for example, okie green had me feeling like i was on hydrocodone at one point, like the days before i had an opiate tolerance, i remember feeling so euphoric and full of energy, and even catching a pleasant nod at one point, sadly it didnt last very long only about an hour. i was a heavy opiate user for about 10 years but have been clean for around 5 now. the day the okie green hit was when i started researching kratom extensively cause i had no idea that kratom was capable of producing those feelings. im also a recovering alcoholic about 2 months of not drinking after drinking around a half gallon a day for about 8 years. ive been looking for something just like kratom and when it worked i was beyond excited. with dragons den i have yet to find anything that hits and it could just be me but i was very excited from reading all the hype from the internet after having the experiences i had with okies but dissapointed with the inconsistency of products from okies, now only to have a drawer full of powder from DD that doesnt work. okies will be hit or miss (which is frustrating), the only strains ive had hit were okie green and s.g. borneo (the okie green only worked for me 1 time for some reason?). ive tried red thai, s.g. indo, super green dragon, yellow rush, okie white, and green maeng da from okies. with dragons den i think i mightve felt the red maeng da at one point but out of khaleesi, al kahdir, green maeng da, red dragon, and gold MD, i didnt feel anything. i will say though that the one thing that i did appreciate about DD is that sahar has amazing customer service and seems like a nice person. she includes a free sample with each order which is really nice and a little gift like a wooden spoon. the artwork on the bags is pretty cool. her shipping was pretty fast for some orders although one of my orders is still waiting a shipping label for a week now i have messaged her about it though and she was quick to reply and friendly. okies shipping is great, they are pretty much in the mail box within 2 days of ordering and on the website you can order 14g 2$ samples.

my regular dose for each strain was 6-7g, ill usually mix it with some citric acid, or apple cider vinegar and also i make sure to take magnesium and space my doses out a day apart.



i just placed an order with oties (super red maeng da, house mix), bewitched botanicals (enhanced blend, akasha), bennis (red horn batch# 12122), DTE (green super MD, old school red MD), and kratom eye (venus blend). well see how these go, ill update my reviews here.

Sorry - TLTR but I get the gist of it.

For one thing - too large a dose. With Kratom, less is more. No more than 3 grams and if I were you I'd start with only two (and STAY there). Also - rotate your batches so you aren't taking the same thing more than once every three days (so if you take a certain batch on Monday, don't take it again until Thursday). Rotate vendors as well (means you need at least three). Take the kratom on an empty stomach and empty bowels (if you don't have a bowel movement the kratom won't work - the opioids work directly with sensors located there).

If you do all of this you should be fine - if not, the kratom you are using isn't good (for Okie I really only like their White Elephant and House Mix - never used DD so don't have an opinion).

I'll try lower doses, I've definitely seen that suggested before, thanks for the reply! Definitely been making sure to keep it on an empty stomach and have made sure to keep fiber in my diet. I didn't know that about the intestines and opiate receptors though. That makes a lot or sense.

I'm excited to see how these new orders go. As far as okies and dragons den goes, I'm done with those sites. I'm taking a break while waiting for the next thing to come in the mail.

the 2 that hit the most so far is
Super white; and Green Dragon!
the others so far were good but these were great

I mean don't get me wrong, when okies hits its great. It is most likely more to do with me than the kratom and still learning to dial it in. I have 2 more samplers on the way in the mail from okies I wanted to try, Dr feel good and white DY-NO-MITE. Everything will be a couple days though. I'm very excited for my order with DTE just from seeing all the reviews about it. Also the guy running it seems like a great dude.

I've never tried DD either and Okie's is middle of the road for me. I have a bunch just sitting here from a couple years ago. I'm very interested in how the DTE will work for you since the general consensus seems to be they're the best right now and I haven't been able to try them either, waiting on Trading Post sample. I think dose size is dependant on the person and I read if your body is accustomed to large amounts of opioids you need a larger dose of kratom, which also depends on the type and quality. I also had a rough beginning with it but didn't give up as it was my only hope. My favorite vendors are small and private but I have several others I like (and still some are hit or miss) and agree changing up (rotating) batches and vendors helps.

I just want to address the dose size versus the prescribed opioids - I was a HEAVY user of both Vicodin and Oxy, to the point where I had to take two or three just to feel ANYTHING. However, I only used them three or four times a week for what that's worth. But I was going through 90 pills in a month or two (my doc is still VERY liberal with the scripts). And when I first started kratom I thought I needed a lot - was doing 6-8 grams and didn't feel it beyond the first one or two tries.

But lowering my dose (as well as the other things I mentioned) changed my life, to the point where a couple of grams is perfect for me. I NEVER go beyond three. Never. Also I do the two-stage a lot (this is where you take 2/3 of your dose and then 30 minutes later the other third). In any case, I don't think using a lot of opioids has much to do with how kratom affects you (recently, due to my knee operation, I spend a week on them heavily again and I went right back to kratom without missing a beat).

I appreciate the feedback. Since my experience has only been with high doses thinking the same thing initially, I'm going to experiment with lowering the dose and try to break the dose up. Also not to mention less plant matter = less side effects. Correct? I mean looking at the size of the pile of powder after weighing out 7 grams is always a little ridiculous to imagine that amount of plant matter getting processed at once by your GI

I will definitely update this thread the moment my stuff arrives in the mail it looks like DTE has already shipped. Since the email response with him, he has been very fast about everything. I am really just hoping for some consistency is all out of a vendor, and I guess the dialing in the right dose is gonna take a little playing around with.

Otie’s (not Okies) has been mostly great. Try Liza’s. I think you’ll find what you’re looking for. Liza has what seems like a million varieties but I find that a great thing as she sources from multiple Indonesian suppliers. Hit me up if you want recommendations.

DTE has been raved about in here but I haven’t tried it yet. I’m working my way through Liza’s huge menu and staying stocked on some of her fire batches before I try anywhere else, but DTE is gonna be my next vendor to sample!

Kratom eye! I really liked them. Noone ever ever mentions them? How did they work out for u? I usually prefer reds but their Pangaea last yr was really good!
How did the other stuff u orderred..work out??

Oh wow. This must be why kratom isnt hitting for me like 80% of the time. Im like...ALWAYS CONSTIPATED some times dont go for several days. I drink kifir.take benefiber. Miralax. And metamucil gummies. Not all together i rotate. Trying to go...i also try two diff stool softeners???Started drinking kombutcha. I just dunno what else to try...?

Just curious who ur fav vendors are? I been buying some samples and curious which private vendors are best to look for...?

Just curious who ur fav vendors are? I been buying some samples and curious which private vendors are best to look for...?

In terms of private, theres a few popular here who id say are excellent. Trading post for sure, some have open events (especially denette check vendor listings for announcements). TFH, Denette, lonestar mitrasource, rhino remedies, are all very good. Heaven leaf has the dark room stuff thats really good, soultanic i am just getting to know but have enjoyed their offerings thus far.

For sure magnesium - and a LOT (I take two HUGE capsules every day - offhand I think each is around 400mg but I could check if you need me to). This is the most important supplement to take for constipation, assuming that you are otherwise getting enough fiber (with Benefiber added you ought to be).

Golden Sahar and khaleesi are probably my favorite strains from them. The Golden Sahar is a mid/fast gold so more green than red in the blend I'd assume.

The only thing with DD is it seems to be very batch dependant and inconsistent. Sometimes they are really great other times they are ehh.

If you haven't tried out west koast botanical yet I would try them out. Kristin's customer service goes above and beyond, she actually uses her product and knows it so makes great recommendations. So far on my journey her leaf has been the most consistent, I've never found something that hasn't hit for me yet.

She's well known for her greens, and her green unfermented reds are also great.

I can attest that the Golden Sahar, Khaleesi, and Al Khadr from last Fall were really excellent, on par with anything out there from anybody. The Green MD and White MD were superb also. I have also heard that some of their batches during the Winter were not so hot, but a lot of peoples' winter batches are "off." If you can get past the Game of Thrones kitsch, when Dragon's Den is on, they are ON.
