K-OGs Green Malay Pucuk

So I ordered some Green Malay Pucuk from Kratom-OG recently and so far have only burned twice of this current batch.

The look is great havent done much inspection yet but overall a nice greenish color.
The smell is good as well I remember something diff as many batches have their “own” smell...
Cant recall atm what the smell was but good like I said.
The Taste though, I’m sorry KOG I love you guys but my god this was the worst Kratom Ive ever tasted, lmao. :o

I mean no disrespect but I just needed to point that out and if anyone else has gotten the GMP lately please share because I honestly almost couldn’t stomach the taste which is very surprising to me.
I mixed with
Banana Almond Milk
& another time Apple Juice and both times
Still just awful and gave me a stomach ache for 30 min so had a Ginger Chew! :) ..and that helped!

Nothing crazy but seemed to be a little out of the ordinary. Just curious as to why this batch tastes so awful?!

Other than that KOG has amazing products and is one of my Go-To Vendors easily!

That is all.
Tgif happy burning.
8-)

:?: Was it extremely bitter? I've got some kratom lately that was extremely bitter and wasn't potent at all?....just curious :|

Depends on what type of “Bitter” you’re referring to to be honest.

KOG is a great vendor
With great products (just emphasizing)

This batch I still have and just got isnt disgusting, well but the taste is just very odd to me since it tastes pretty awful and yeah extremely bitter lol.
I dont recall any significant effects tbh either, yet...

I’m very surprised as I’ve read excellent Reviews
On KOGs
(Green Malay Pucuk)

And yet nobody else has written about this problem I’m having?
Hmm

Its funny, I see its important to some people but I would never think to even include kratom's taste in evaluating a strain. In my experience the taste hasn't much to do with effectiveness. As long as its been lab tested for mold and other unwanted substances I dont mind guzzling something unpleasant. And after all you can always cap it. How would you rate the stains potency and effect?. Thanks

I have some Green Malay Pucuk and Paragin Premium from 4/18 that are both extremely bitter and less potent than the summer batches I have from then (which aren't bitter) Usually but not always, bitter kratom seems less potent to me personally. Maybe its a rain season thing.

I got the Green Malay Pucuk from KOG last month. I don’t remember much about the taste but I do remember being pretty underwhelmed. It’s ok, but definitely not one of my favorites. The MD Ultra was similar. I liked the Green Bunut and I loved the White Melawi.

Okay glad more comments haha more relieved now.

Its just nice to see others reactions even though I very much know that each one of us differ greatly at times when it comes to this green or that red or that white! So...

So what if the Green Malay Pucuk was good for ‘W, Y, and N’.

Does Not mean the GMPucuk will be good for ‘Q’

I will try again and get back to this thread when I have more time and less bs in my head distracting me from Reflecting on my burn. Thank god for tomorrow and having zero plans :D

Yes I have been capping my doses instead of parachuting and potentially choking as I have before in a parking lot... :?
Size ‘000’ comes in handy yes!
(Esp. For BITTER af batches)

Anyway my intuition yet again told me to try this strain and yeah so what it may be a let down but at least now I know!

To be continued...

I tried this last night. I split 4 grams into 2 'chutes. This is definitely better than Toss n Wash for me. Not sure what the paper from the napkin I used will do to my stomach  I'm having a do-over today after dosing too much and realizing I missed my meds 2 days in a row after switching from night to day. One of my docs has upped my Gabapentin and Effexor. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I don't really like SSRI's after a bad experience with Tramadol withdrawal. I'd rather wd from actualy opiods and actually am going through that process. I will dose again after trying a 2.5 gram dose, not my sweet spot. I think 4 is closer to it. I'm going to go to the gym, maybe the grocery store. Gym is open 24 hrs. and grocery store until midnight. I have capsules but they are super messy but are a necessary evil if you need to leave the building for an extended time. I actually have a bottle of green food in my cube with Maeng Da in it. 8-)

Just got some in and confirm it tastes pretty dang bitter. I cap all my kratom, so it doesn't bother me one bit. I just took a quick taste for curiosity after reading this. It's got a nice color though!

Ya know, I wish KOG put batch #s on their bags.

Every vendor is different thats for sure.
Theres Pros
Theres Cons

If Ive missed something about Kratom-OG and their batch #s please do tell!

I will try my new Green Malay Pucuk for a (3rd time)
Tomorrow on Presidents Day - Monday 18th midday or so... maybe evening.
I will cap it this time around.***

I’d just like to know if the reviews of praise for this strain on there own website or “catalog” was for earlier batches of GMP (there might be some praise on DoubleM also for the GMP).
And the more bitter batch (like my current batch) and others like, was for a brand new batch. So...
Who knows hopefully we will see. :)

Another thing,

In the strain description on K-OG site it says something about the meaning of ‘Pucuk’.
Could it be that the part of the plant/ leaf, is extra bitter??

I remember back in late Fall of 2018 I got a batch from Canopy
Igot their White Thai

I still have the sample I got but I remember the taste was pretty Bitter also! *

I dont get a lot of these Bitter batches that really stick with me. So this is why I’d like to know more

Plus... as
’jabro70’
said ... as for me too,
The GMP my (me) first two burns seemed OK nothing special.

Just speculation people (from me) and my experience maybe not yours! So don’t let this stop you from trying some GMP ;)

There was quite a bit of praise for this strain as well. As Ive said.
The Pros &
Cons
People!

I like the name too haha!

Hey Guys. Pucuk is the top growth from a plantation and young leaf can be very bitter. This provider also makes the white pucuk I have which is also bitter. However, I do get a lot of good feedback on both of these. But yeah, its bitter. It always was even from last year. I only have one provider for GMP and its the same batch Ive had for 2.5 months. I wont have any significant difference in batches as it comes in large batches from his plantation and a pure strain I do no blending with. Same provider makes yellow vietnam which is also a little bitter. Its not rainy season issues, as this was done during the "dry season", its more fibrous leaf being used when its pucuk which makes it bitter, but not sour.

I personally like it lots but yep...bitter undoubtedly. I had a small batch of g malay pucuk 3 moths ago I had someone make for me, but that only lasted a week and it wasnt as good. So I used the original guy who made the bitter, but strong malay. I also had Premium Green Malay from him which is just leaf that horns (older leaf) and fully indoor dried. That was even more bitter that I never re-ordred that. My impression is its not yummy but its quick and solid.

Regarding dates of batches, this batch came in late november. Im currently just going to be listing the new deliveries going back 3 months. # of batches can be hard for me to use as I blend many strains such as bali myself so I can have a bent from december and supergreen from January and a white from November. Pure strains I dont blend are marked on top of my page when they arrived.

I have had much worse tasting strains, but I just pull them. The GMP to me is pretty solid to me and anyone who have got any from me in the past couple months will taste the same as its same batch.

Yeah, I have a green pucuk too from Banjar which isnt bitter. But this GMP guy I know is actually using pucuk, where as I (or any people ordering from USA) cant be sure if my green pucuk is actually pucuk or a few swipes of a sharpie... Where the GMP and white pucuk is actual pucuk, or just this persons pucuk has always been bitter. To me, bitterness is one way I can tell its pucuk which just means top shoots or canopy leaf.

I had someone make a small batch of green malay pucuk for me prior as I mentioned and it was a small order, but I just think he wrote pucuk on plain old green aceh.. It wasnt as good, but tasted fine. People in Aceh tend to lie about where leaf is from. No one in aceh is actually carrying leaf from Banjar, but they all sell it. :? So I went back to my old guy which has the bitter pucuk stuff as I have seen the process of it. Its lots more money than I typically pay but I just love dudes whites and yellow vietnam so I grabbed a bunch.

Pucuk or young leaf should have a few characteristics, the leaf is fibrous and more bitter than usual, it will be more speedy but with less "legs". Its much more common in Aceh/Sumatra than in Borneo. Its no creme brulee however.

I got a green hulu kapuas from herbal salvation last year. Probably about 6 months ago. Tasted so agonizingly bitter, I literally could not stomach it. I’ve never minded the taste of kratom - some taste better than others, but none are a problem for me. Until this batch of Green Hulu from HS

I literally cannot explain the taste, “bitter” does not do it justice. It’s an unbelievable, overpowering, chemically, bitter, almost painful taste, that immediately engulfs your entire tongue and mouth. It sticks to your mouth everywhere, it’s hard to wash down. It’s horrid. It takes over your entire body... it’s impossible to ignore or just “deal with”. Even when I went through unexpected WDs a few months ago, I couldn’t force it down. I spat it out and dealt with the WDs for 3 days. It’s that bad.

I still have it, and don’t know what to do with it. It looks fine, visually. Brightish green, finely powdered. But the taste is almost as if it’s been sprayed with some insect repellent. It’s not normal. I guess I just feel like I shouldn’t throw it out, because it very well may have toxic chemicals in it and if it does, I’d like to know. If I ever get an opportunity to mail it someone who can look into it or test it for me, I’d love to hear the results.
