Hyper Hippo, Happy Hippo, and Chocolate Hippo are the 3 they sent and Thunder Hippo sampler. 2 days to land after ordering on Monday. USPS tore a quarter sized hole in the pack, 100% bet it was customs. I'll post the unboxing as soon as I can launch my editor. True Strain Name:Green Maengda Indonesian
Dosage: 2 grams

Effects and Summary:
I took 2 grams of this on an empty stomach and started noticing effects about 30 minutes in. By an hour in I fully knew I had taken kratom.
This strain seemed more euphoric than pain relieving. I'd suggest this one for anyone who wanted to kick anti-social feelings to the curb and wanted some motivation.
It didn't really give me energy but it gets you motivated.
Comparing this to head shop kratom is night to day. 2 grams of this would equal 10-20 grams of head shop quality, even the super 10x/20x/50x headshop kratoms don't stand up to this.
There is a very big difference between what headshops sell and what you can get through online vendors.
Notes: Didn't fully kill appetite, was able to eat dinner, a positive for me. Also should be said this is my first online vendor product review. I've only had headshop quality before this.

True Strain Name: Red Borneo or Super Red
Dosage: 2-3 grams
Delivery Method: Toss and Wash
Caution: gagging effect with this strain [unsure if its texture or acidity]
Summary: This strain is the first to make me gag twice. I am still unsure if it is the consistency of the grind creating a gagful-texture of dust or if its the actual acidity in the leaf. Nonetheless I spewed mud every-where, second time I managed to choke some down but it still looked like I was clambering up from Hell like Samara's good little tar puking demons. Toss and wash with this is a task for newbs. I tried capsules and while it was 80% easier to take it took longer to work and needed more, as per digestion.
Effects: Mild sedation, I can see this being one of those strains that fits in both green and reds you get half effects from both but nothing SUPER.
Positives: I can eat on this strain, doesn't effect hunger. This is a very good thing for a medical effect.

True Strain Name: Benfuansie Chocolate
Dosage: 1-3 grams
Delivery Method: Toss and Wash/Capsules
Cautions: Strong Taste!
Summary: I get why they named it Chocolate, it tastes darker than any other strain I've had, yes darker I don't know how else to describe it but like a Super Dark Roast coffee compared to Dunkin Doughnuts coffee. I can't say if there was any feelings other than bedtime, I took about 2-3 grams, toss and wash and went to bed in about 3 hours after, slept for 10 hours. Not a day strain for me and if I had this on constant supply this would be used for the nights were pain keeps you awake. Strictly a sedation strain with my tolerance. This may effect others who have been on kratom longer than I. If you can find your plateau then this strain also gives some clarity, easier to think on this strain.

Not to suggest any shilling of course... hippo has their own shill network and their own forum for that. They don’t bother with forums where people know what kratom actually should cost or what good kratom actually is.

They are very common on reddit, that's how I found them. I ordered from them before I even knew of a safe vendor list. I doubt I'll ever get a kilo, that's way too much for me in quantity. More an oz sampler fan for variety and normally taste however the later I leave out of my itinerary for kratom picking as all taste like battery acid. Flavored Kratom needs to be a thing, same with flavored CBD.

Made the u/n after ordering from them so yeah hippo name came from the only vendor I knew at the time.

I don’t mean to poop in your fruit loops. I was being a bit of a smart arse. If you like them, that’s fine. There are great vendors selling top quality product at a fraction the price. I hope you find something better. It’ll save you money.

Better than headshop quality, at least for my newbie tolerance. I don't trust the headshop mixes, they could add the spice from spices that they also sell in them. That's why I went online, and sadly there are no easy to find trusted vendor sites that pop up when searching for kratom, every result on google lists someones favorite vendors.
I got into kratom because most days I feel like I'm dying and can't afford my countries healthcare of the latest greatest medicine for the mere price of 6g's every month. I chose to give my doc the finger when they said "We need to get you on transfusions instead of that CBD." My problem is the War on Opiates or as we call them in hospital "War on Patients". Because somehow they think treating people with documented diseases like drug addicts is ok and acceptable in this day and age. Doctors don't care anymore, so I listened to my friend who is in school for something involving chemistry and pharmaceuticals when he first got me on CBD. I'm no longer 6 foot and 92 pounds, no more tubes in my body. I still can't walk that great someday's and others I'm a raging A-hole to people around me because my legs feel like I'm soaking them in lava. Enter kratom.

Headshop kratom gave me hangovers and headaches. So yeah, I would hope hippo is better than that. I think reviewed here were basically saying they have average/decent kratom that’s way overpriced. I haven’t seen anyone say it’s special or fire enough to justify the price. My first vendor was overpriced as well, and I recently bought from them again even though I’ve bought from over 20 different vendors with reasonable prices and good kratom.

Check out Smiley Time Herbals. There’s a lot of places I could send you, but you can find a ton of reviews and top strains on this forum for them.

There's a whole long list of vendors to choose from that are all cheaper and probably much better than Happy Hippo. I believe Happy Hippo is one of the 'google vendors', like Phytoextractum and Kraken Kratom. Meaning, they're going to pop up first when you do a Google search for kratom for sale. All mediocre kratom for high prices.



Try Herbal RVA, that was my first vendor after finding the Reddit vendors, which is what that list in the link is I gave you above.

Treasure house, rva,,etc., all great. I use to order happy hippo in the beginning, ,one of the 1st good vendors I found was lizas botanicals, ,I mention her because she offers 5 way splits on 250g and up,I liked the variety of trying different ones to get a feel for what worked best for mornings,evening, etc. I had xtreme nerve pain in legs,,along with other things, the legs were worst,,anyhow I'd order 5 strains each time,and within a month acquired about 20 different strains , ,,ordering is fast, c service is great, if you like to order kilos,most vendors offer 4 way splits,, kilos are cheaper than buying 4 quarters, but back then I liked to have 20 varieties rather than 4 ,,,,then it just got too confusing

I ordered from HH numerous times before I found this forum. While they were more expensive, their stuff was always strong and consistent. Two of my friends have me order their kratom and consistantly had me reorder from HH. Their Thunder Hippo is literally like coke when I tried it lol.

I tended to order the sale products though. They send an email out a few times a week with discounts.

And please, please, for the love of god, let flavored kratom never, ever, be "a thing". ...well, maybe a pinch of ginger

For newbies, it's a good imo bc it's organized by slow,moderat, fast which removes an obstacle.
If you're totally clueless, it's a better shopping experience than most, depending on how you found them.

I stiill think t's pretty good product.- goes to lengths to keep things surprisingly consistent. Or it was then 2015 I think. There could be much worse introductions for first timers. The rude awakening about being taken advantage of comes later.

Hey Greenhippo, Thank you for the reviews! I’m trying to get a feel for Kratom and have heard that “Happy Hippo Herbals is a Trusted source to get good quality Kratom. I ordered the Newbie Pack today so it should be here in a day or 2 I hope! I had a friend give me a pack of his Cozy chocolate Hippo, have you tried that yet? If so what do you think? I was reading some of the faqs on Happy Hippos site & they say that if/when you build a tolerance try another strain or a “Rare” strain you haven’t tried before and they suggest the “Cozy Chocolate” because they say it “differs” significantly from all the other strains, they also suggest “Stem&Vein” but it’s always sold out, anyway, I’m trying to get clean from Subs, been going strong on that for 4 years 8 mg strips everyday! UGH! I’m desperate but not looking forwards to WD’s during the process hence my interest in Kratom! If I can kick this shit safely & effectively without breaking the bank I’m excited to do so! I’m just wondering if I should wait until the Newbie Pack gets here & try the Moderate first? If the Cozy Chocolate differs that much then I’m not sure what to look for as far as feeling? Do you still get the same euphoria, or does it make you sleepy? Cuz I don’t like “sleepy” anything, I like to sleep but don’t like to feel downed out in anyway! @LoCo the Chocolate strain knocked me out in a few hours and I took a newbie sized amount. The taste of it is 100% different though and I see where they get the name but still it does not taste anything like a cozy chocolate My tolerance is nothing though so for anyone with kratom belt notches then they may feel something different but great for me to sleep on.

The Cozy Chocolate knocked me out too! But, on a Wonderful note I am here to Testify that I am 4 days clean off 8mg Suboxone per day thanks to Kratom! I feel like I am getting my life back 1 little baby step at a time! I have a teeny bit of head fogginess but other than that, no withdrawals at all, and anybody that knows anything about Subs or Opiates in general KNOWS the pain of the withdrawals! So the best advice I could ever give to anyone coming off of Opiates or Suboxone TAKE KRATOM because it truly takes the WD’s away and could potentially save your life! I was taking some local Kratom “White MaengDa” and I ordered the “Newbie Pack” from HappyHippoHerbals.com. And for all the Doubters, I AM NOT an advocate for any company at all, I am an addict looking for help, and I truly found that in Kratom!
