Oh the woes of importing... I am sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, this practice of misrepresenting what is in the packages is common with many (but definitely not all) suppliers. If they are shipping DHL, they are essentially smuggling. I do not know of any legal means to properly declare the contents as kratom when sending via DHL (somebody corrects me if I am wrong). Unfortunately, DHL shipping is much cheaper than the other "legal" options, and its a way suppliers can make a profit worth their time when they are sending small shipments to non-vendors. Also, when a DHL shipment is seized/lost, the exporter gets a full refund from DHL for the shipping costs, which they will not get with other shipping methods. So in the eyes of the exporter, DHL is very attractive.

Something I think people should know is that in the United States, misrepresenting goods (misclassification) on importation documents falls under "customs fraud". There are legal ramifications if you are caught doing this, and guess who is on the hook for it? Ill give you a hint.... its not the Indonesian supplier.

I wrote a little blurb on importing in another post. Click the link and scroll towards the bottom of the page and you will find it:

With all that said - when everything works according to plan its a pretty sweet feeling! Be careful out there folks!
