Just ordered a kilo of doppelganger and am pleasantly surprised at the effects. The effects are subtle but profound. It comes on real slow and gentle, then peaks to a real relaxing energy, if energy could be relaxed thats how it feels. I fell like im in a better place after burning this strain. So mood boost is up there, 9/10, energy is about a 7/10 but i dont like too high an energy because it can make you feel jittery, euphoria is up too with a 9/10, and sedation is about a 7/10 - its very chill, and analgesic/ pain relief is great too at 8/10. Im Always hard on grading strains, I never grade them all 10’s because you have to leave room for improvement ya know, but this one is very, very nice. Very chill and stimulating at the same time. Burn feels warm and fuzzy without fogging up the mind too much, I really like this strain.

Thanks for the review, gravy. MI is one of my favorite vendors (Vampire) and honestly haven’t ever gotten anything I would consider “bunk.” Definitely have to get a sample of doppelganger in my next order.

I got a recent batch of doppelganger and I agree, it's one of the best of theirs I've tried, probably in my top 5 MI blends, and I've tried probably 75% of what they offer. It's so great for an afternoon where you don't need to focus too much and just want to enjoy what you have to get done.

Great review, thanks for posting this! Would you consider this a daytime or nighttime strain? Sounds like something I would like, but I'm always hesitant to try new strains in the evening because some strains aggravate my insomnia.

For me personally I only use this in the afternoon. It's too heavy for morning when I need to focus, and for me if I take yellows too close to bedtime I get a headache/grumpy. If you're good with all yellows then it's a good evening strain.

I ordered small amounts of Doppelganger and Green Malay and got them Tuesday and then turned around and ordered a kilo of each yesterday. They're both good solid slow, euphoric greens. Probably the best of the kratom I've ordered in months. For me anyway.

I use their leaf so much during the week, and I sit and think "I can't believe this kratom cost me 3$" The vast majority of it is just as good as the high priced stuff if not better and more reliable. The Doppleganger for me became an instant classic first burn. Right now I LOVE garnet + peridot, it's great for morning but it has a similar level of euphoria for me.

I have Peridot but not garnet, I'm going to have to order some. What's Garnet like by itself?

I like it. The website says it's mostly white and it's hard to tell what it's mixed with but if I were to guess I'd say a fast red. It's a good morning blend.

I feel ya, HH. But by stark contrast, I'm -always- up for a good morning mix. I was putting in an order somewhere tomorrow anyway, so it might as well be Mystic. I'm definitely gonna try the Doppelganger, the Green Malay, and this blend. It all sounds good to me.

If I could make all of the other four in my top five Old Unicorn, I would, lol. I ordered a small bag of Mystic Unicorn back around February or March and it was out of this world, but I was so into reds at the time I didn't really look into buying more until this summer. Sure enough, it was slightly different. Actually, I still think it's worth putting in the top four, but there was a faster, focused element to it that's no longer there. I do student research in chemistry and it was such a great morning boost like, roll up into the lab and just get hella shit done before 8 am, lol. I can't use it for that anymore so I'm sad I've been asking around for some but people aren't super willing to part with it. You can do good math on Old Unicorn at 7:45 in the morning, but the newer one has just a little bit of a fuzzy mental feeling that is super noticeable to me.

I love the Mystic Vampire because I am almost totally unaffected by dark colored red/chocolate strains, and I am very positively affected by bright green red strains, and this is a blend of mainly that, I think. I have no physical pain so I can't speak to it's effectiveness for that but I have seen plenty of reviews saying it does work for pain, as well. It's equal parts sedating and euphoric, and while I think it could have longer legs if I'm being picky, if you take it shortly before bed it doesn't matter. It's a full body sedation and it's really nice.

Mystic Centaur is powerful blend of greens that's definitely slow-ish but strong. I prefer strong, euphoric, slower greens in the afternoon and evening and this is just that. It reminds me a little bit of Doppelganger, but Doppelganger has that yellow in it. Yellow is SUPER hit or miss for me, I either get a strong positive effect or a massive headache. Mystic Phoenix gave me the headache Doppelganger gave me the boost. But Centaur is green only and it feels very traditionally green.

I don't think Aquamarine gets enough attention. I am a fan of most of the gems, the top for me being Sapphire, Garnet, and Diamond, but Aquamarine is very unique. It's one of the only strains that has given me nausea at my standard dose (the other being SoCal Rb1 June), so I actually have to reduce a bit. This is a red and white and it's relaxing but not sedating. The last time I took this I spent the afternoon watching Youtube on the couch, just kind of laying there and enjoying the waves, more thinking/daydreaming than actually watching. My favorite post-kratom activity is getting lost in thought, lol, so this is in my faves cause it's what I'm looking for.


I have another order from MI coming in this weekend, and it may actually complete my MI collection, minus a couple that may have slipped thru the cracks. I'm trying out the white malay that's a new addition, plus a big selection of the originals that I've neglected. I'm a sucker for the new agey, mystical stuff so I tried all that out without noticing they have some popular stuff in the "originals" section, as well. Any more standouts and I will definitely post.

No worries. I've been lurking here since April when the Reddit bubble popped and always wondered why it wasn't taking off, and then realized it was probably because ppl were lurking and not posting and took some responsibility lol

This is pretty much it, lol. We have quite a bit of daily traffic, but it would be hard to tell that from looking at the posting frequency. A very large majority of traffic is lurkers and/or unregistered guests. Thanks for posting and helping to liven this place up!

Dang, you sure made up for lost time with that post.

Incidentally, I'm putting in an order tomorrow, and have at least samples of pretty much everything you mentioned (except old Unicorn, of course, and they're out of Ruby too) so thanks for all the suggestions! Even if one or two don't work out, I'll just use them in blends. And in the meantime I have a ton of strains to rotate through in my daily doses. Win/win/win. It'll be like Christmas when it gets here.

It does! Funny, people will post about a strain like this and how they like it for afternoon or evening and I'm like, first thing in the morning, baby! I like to be mellow alllllll day.

For me, "mellow" strain plus "morning" equals "unconscious".

I'm guessing you're one of those fabled Morning People who actually have energy prior to added stimulants and for whom sunrise is a pleasant experience. I've been jealous of you Morning People all my life (in the nicest way possible, of course). I look at y'all bounce brightly into the day and think to myself, HOW is that even possible??? I've come to accept it over the last fifty-odd years, but it still rocks my brain that people live that way.

Enjoy your mellow strains in the morning, HH, with my admiration. I'll happily join you after I've set up my caffeine IV and had a bit of Phatcracker or something.

Yep, up at 4:15 and two cups of jasmine green tea by 5:30 and I'm ready to go! I don't exactly 'bounce brightly' and I'm definitely not perky but I am a morning person.
