Are there any Christians here?

Just seeing if there are any like minded people here. I was turned onto kratom by a preacher whose wife uses it. Kratom is naturally occurring which means that God put it here for us to use, but I imagine that some people would still have a problem with it. What have your expierences been telling other Christians about kratom?

So is he cool with shrooms and opium too? Both naturally occurring.

You get my point though? Something being naturally occurring can't be the only criteria that determines whether it's meant for humans. What about poison ivy, or deadly nightshade etc etc? Those are natural, but that doesn't mean they were created for humans to ingest.

Yeah I got you. He didn’t say that but about it being put here for us, that was me. Alcohol is fairly natural as well, but we aren’t to be drunkards or let it run/ruin our lives. That is where I draw a distinction. If something were to take over my life and make me act like a fool like I had no control of my own body - that wouldn’t be for me.

I was talking about this yesterday.
I’m not 100% convinced on any current religious OR “scientific” narratives regarding human origins. Even the most famous evolutionists in the world have conceded that evolution is as much dependent on conjecture as it is hard evidence.
I do believe the Old Testament has some strikingly scientific elements to it. Too many to ignore. The mere fact that absolutely none of it has - despite all the scientific research that has been done - been disproven, is fascinating as well.
Nonetheless, I don’t really subscribe fully to any one ideology. I try to stick purely by evidence I can SEE and OBSERVE for myself - and this evidence strongly opposes the ideas of evolution whilst strongly supports the ideas of creation, and a God.
(Examples of things that completely disprove evolution:)
- soft tissue found in Dinosaur Bone (completely drove a wedge in the entire evolution dating and aging narrative)
-human-made hammer found in supposedly millions of years old rock (again totally discredits their dating and aging methods)
-tons of 10-12ft tall human bones found all over this country in late 1800-early 1900s. Look at the link below.
http://www.sydhav.no/giants/newspapers.htm
That’s a totally unbiased list of newspaper clippings, all reporting the EXACT SAME thing. Why would so many different sources report the exact same findings. What would be the gain in lying about that?
-humans wouldn’t exist. We’re the ONLY species that could completely disappear and leave the world unaffected. We actually hurt the world, and do tons of unnatural things like global warming and ocean pollution. How could something natural create something unnatural? If we’re “natural” beings, then isn’t pollution natural as well?
-solar eclipses wouldn’t have been happening on a predictable basis for the entirety of human history if the solar system was undergoing a constant state of change. The factors needed for solar eclipses to happen are too fine and exact to occur regularly in a changing solar system.
Regarding your post, I was totally talking about this yesterday, specifically drugs like shrooms and DMT. I’ve never tried either, but DMT in particular fascinates me. Almost everyone who tries DMT has a universally similar experience, regarding interacting with an intelligent, alternative entity - it’s strikingly consist among user reports.
But yeah, man I really wonder about certain substances. Obviously God meant for them to exist, because they do. Even poison ivy. They all play some role in acidifying soil, or deterring life forms from recklessly destroying plants (cactuses, poison oak, toxic berries, etc). But what are the odds some psychoactive substances would contain alkaloids that fit perfectly into receptors in our bodies? What are the odds the substances would have actual, experiencable, non-toxic, temporary changes on the human thought processes?
I feel like all substances exist for a reason. Some can be used in obvious situations, like opium for serious injuries (fell off a mountain, attacked by a bear), or coca leaves for energy (got a lot of farming to do before winter). But what about DMT and other stuff like that? What is their purpose? What is the point of their existence? Interesting discussion.

Oh boy, more giant stuff. We don't need two of the same thread, relaxed. You made your thread to discuss those fringe theories, keep that stuff there.
Also, this took me 2 seconds to Google
https://www.livescience.com/41537-t-rex ... issue.html
That explains it. Soft tissue in dinosaur bone. You might want to reevaluate some stuff now. You claim you want to see and observe for yourself, but you only read stuff that agrees with what you already believe. Thats called confirmation bias and it's the opposite of science. You're fooling yourself if you think you're being objective. Research. The answers are there. Try actually looking and stop reading conspiracy theories.

Why don’t you try looking at that link I posted. Seriously look at it. Explain why it’s wrong. You didn’t click the link, that’s the problem. If you did, you’d see it’s not “giant stuff”. It’s newspaper articles from the most atheist publishers in history.
http://www.sydhav.no/giants/newspapers.htm
What information bias are you referring to?
Tell me what you find wrong with the information contained in that link. Are you disputing the validity of the articles? Are you saying it was all a scheme? What was the incentive in those publishers posting those articles? Do explain.
Again, here’s the link:
http://www.sydhav.no/giants/newspapers.htm
Explain your problem with that. You’ve yet to even acknowledge it, because it makes you mad. You keep calling it “giant stuff”, as if I’m referring to some 50ft tall dude with a club in his hand. It’s literally just newspaper articles. Doesn’t get any less biased than that.

Ya, large bones have been found from time to time. I saw a documentary about an archeologist finding some large bones and then they mysteriously disappeared from storage right before he was supposed to dna test them and show them to the public. Its not a conspiracy if its the truth. Right. People should take scripture more literally i think, they arent the best selling books in history for no reason. When they say giants walked the earth, i think they meant literally. Its not like it really changes anything, if we found aliens in our back yard it wouldnt change much, if they are here then they are, if not, then not. I still have to work in the morning lol

I think it would change a lot honestly. We'd finally know for sure that we weren't alone in the universe which would be the biggest news in the history of our planet and our species.
If they were friendly or benevolent and shared knowledge with us, our technological capabilities would increase at rates never seen before in our history. If they were violent or came here for malicious reasons, we'd be in trouble and at the mercy of beings with advanced technology and weaponry that far surpasses our own. Stephen Hawking even warned of this and compared it to the colonists coming to the Americas and wiping out the natives.
So depending on their motives, I feel we'd see a lot of positive or negative changes rather quickly.
Since this thread is about religion, I think it's worth pointing out that The Vatican actually has a protocol in place for when/if aliens do make contact someday. They also have their own private observatory where they study space.

I actually just got back from a women's retreat with my church this past weekend. Of course, the question always comes up of "what do you do for a living." I have no problem telling other Christians about Kratom and everyone I speak to seems to be interested in learning more. I found that one of the ladies in my cabin group at the retreat was already using Kratom for years and two others wanted to try it for themselves and their spouse. So far I've had a pretty positive response when telling others about it

Its so sad that you even have to feel happy people are receptive to using a PLANT because of the demonizing of natural medicine in this country. Its crazy to me and this should go without saying. Unfortunately it doesn't. I'm glad you found people who can look past the media bullshit and try it for themselves.

If we were all based in the middle east, this thread would be titled "Are there any muslims in here?"

Christain here. I used to be someone who was not a follower and thought people that were really into it we're simps and nut jobs. Good people, but suckers for believing in what we're really just nice ideas. I compared it to adults believing in Santa because that would be awesome if there were a real Santa.
Im still amazed how much my life has changed for the better... I had no idea how wrong I was. God is an incredible thing to have in your life, and the great thing is he is there for us all. You just need to answer his knocking ...
Christians get a really bad wrap in the media. The image commonly displayed of a Christains are super judgemental people that look down on you if your not a Christian. In reality, that is just the a tiny tiny but vocal minority of Christains. Every single church I've been a part of teaches acceptance of all and that we are all sinners. The sins I commit are no better than the sins others commit, it's not any of our place to hold judgement. 100% of the Christains I know believe the same, it's just those few very vocal groups that don't believe that that get the attention.
Like any ideology or belief system that has millions of people in it, your going to find it's share of wackos and evil people.

No doubt. Ex-Catholic here. Still believe in Higher God(s) but religion messes up more than it helps. As the saying goes, "Lord, save me from your followers..."

Offended you may get, but how can you believe in what you've never seen? Speaking as an EX-catholic. It's why i stopped believing. I was going to say sorry right now but i don't have too. But please for the love of...the universe, don't tell me you don't support marijuana legalization. Because that's hypocritical. I'm only saying this because many refer to this as the, "devils lettuce".

Hi, Im new here and a Christian, though I differ much from mainstream. I was baptized in Catholic church raised in pentecostal/ televangelism. I defected from all of that when I learned to read my Bible and to believe it. I dont attend a 'church' but my family and I have our own gathering together. We do things for poor and needy. We try to help when possible wherever we can in society. In the church I was raised in I saw everything that folks despise about mainstream christianity. I saw the 'toronto blessing' though I saw a curse. My parents still follow benny hinn around the US. My father was sodomized by a catholic priest as was his father. I think my being able to escape was God's mercy on me. I try to find natural ways to cure my ailments and thats how I found kratom.

Opium is not “natural”, there is a purifying process like with cocaine that changes the natural part of it. Now kratom is just dry leaves, marijuana is dry buds. We could say that xanax is “natural” because it all comes from nature, but doesnt everything come from this planet? I dont think God has anything to do with wether or not you do drugs ya know, its kind of a soul searching thing, so if drugs prevent you from soul searching then its probably not a good idea. But if you have a messed up spine and pain all the time that prevents you from focusing on soul searching, then you find opium (pills) and your pain in reduced enough for you to focus on God, then i would say its ok in that case. If you know its not good for you then its probably not, your conscious will let you know if what you are doing is wrong ya know. Just my two cents
