I just got 125 bucks from Equifax cuz i was one of the people who had their data stolen from their servers back in 2017, they just reached a settlement to pay the victims of the data breach. You can check to see if your data was stolen on their site, https://eligibility.equifaxbreachsettle ... ligibility . They will either give you 10 years of free credit monitoring or 125 bucks, credit karma give you free credit reporting so just take the money and use credit karma for monitoring. However. One thing, did you know about Credit Karma, is basically a SCAM set-up a few years ago by the Collection agencies? The whole thing with Credit Karma is.. when you sign-up with them.. your credit report gets cross referenced with all the BIG collection scumbags - This is a huge industry, collecting money - You get turned in right away. Any Debt you have, from years ago or whatever... Expect to start getting collection letters!

That's why its called Credit Karma. They Turn You IN, to the collectors.. that's your "Karma" as they see it. They NOW have your current phone number. Maybe you got lost, forgot about that 50 bucks you were billed 10 years ago, by a doctors office? Guess what... Hello. Are you Mister Jones? I'm from ABC company and you owe $50 PLUS expenses, so we're taking you to COURT for $200.

Careful...looks like so many more people than expected are choosing $125 that the payout will ultimately be much less. Multi-year monitoring might be a better deal.

I know, i read about how the 31 million wont cover everyone if we all make a claim to take the cash. I thought about not posting it but decided to because we all deserve resolution for their mistake, even if its only a little bit. I heard that after the 10 years has passed for the credit monitoring, they automatically charge your credit card for the next years monitoring. So did anyone choose the credit monitoring, if so, did they ask for a card number? Im just curious if they did, if they didnt, i probably should have taken the monitoring. If the 125 bucks shows up, ill be happy about my choice though.

I chose the credit monitoring after reading the payout might be nowhere near $125. They didn't ask for a card but nothing takes effect until a judge finalizes everything, probably early next year. Thanks for the heads up!

Here's the thing. Chicken Wing...
Equifax has no permission to have ANY of our information. The PTB have CHOSEN to not only GIVE them my information "for my own good" (haha!) but essentially made it OK for them to lose my ill-gotten information with basically NO repercussions. Really? They didnt think everyone would choose the money? It's like if you go to a restaurant and find a hair in your soup and the waiter offers you another bowl of soup. No thanks, the soup is burned! In this case...I'm not interested in you even HAVING my info because you quite obviously can't handle that responsibility! 30 million for cash settlements and 300 million to "pay for victims credit monitoring" hmmmm! I can only IMAGINE where that 300 million is going to end up....is Equifax paying the fine to themselves? Sure as hell seems that way! Why not the other way around and the 300 mil for PAYOUTS? Because actually they KNEW everyone would choose the cash. The 300 mil STAYS in Equifax's pocket one way or the other. Its YOU that ultimately suffers by getting your little 18.00 check because the choice of the money option was SO UNPREDICTABLE! Yeah. Just another corporate scam, and who loses when corporations not only scam, but get the wink and nod from kangaroo court systems? Yep, you guessed it! YOU AND ME! This kind of shit really barbeques my frickin' goat! F!@# these asswipes!
