Mr Kellytoons, I'm praying as I type sir for your precious wife and you. May our Lord Jesus heal her quickly and little to no pain and you both to not be anxious about it all, (Phillipians 4:6-7). I totally understand caregiving as I took full care of my Mommy when she had brain cancer and we were so close anyway but it was an honor for those last 4 months of her life here on earth! Then Daddy remarried and my Mom (stepmom) got uterine cancer & alzheimers so I sold my business and moved home, in with them, to care for her as my Daddy was so lost in what to do. God helped us through that time and we had Mom for another 2 1/2 years. When Mom passed away I moved away to be back with hubby but only for 6 mos as the phone calls with Daddy proved he was still lost by himself and going downhill, mentally. So we rented our home in San Angelo out, moved back home to an RV. My Daddy was estatic to say the least. I'm his baby girl! Only child left of 3. We built a small home on Daddy's land. Daily I got to see and share life with my Daddy!!! Then he broke his hip and I moved him in with us and became his full time caregiver, which was indeed an honor! Daddy passed away Aug 2020 at age 96 1/2yrs and it was the most horrible & saddest day I've experienced since losing Mommy in 1989. Now I care for my hubby who has UC & dementia. I have JESUS, an amazing church family and my "adopted" baby sis, my sister in Christ to lean on, a shoulder to cry on or whatever when I need someone and my son and daughter-in-love are 250 miles away but supportive and would be here in a flash if I need them! So I say all that meaning that I do understand what you are going through and my heart, prayers and Jesus Love is with you and your precious bride! I'll continue to pray daily sir for both of you, all of you! (I'm just logging in after being off here for a long time so just now seeing these postings.) May our LORD GOD bless you and your family and in HIS strength, you are, we are victorious!Kelleytoons wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 5:14 pm
LOL - yes, I am definitely a legend in my own mind.
But we still need all the prayers we can get. Now that she's started her (very strong) antibiotics (to make sure she doesn't get ANOTHER bone infection) they are hitting her hard. It's just unfair - someone our primary care doctor said about her - that someone so sweet and wonderful has to go through all of this, while those of us who are pessimistic and dour don't have to. Except because she IS my entire world it hits me very hard, too. And Kratom DEFINITELY keeps things looking better (off now to dose to cheer me up :>).

I lost my wife 10 months ago and let me say it’s the worst I pain I had ever gone through I had the honor to take care of my beautiful wife I kept her as comfortable as i possibly could, she wasn’t the type to ever say I love but she always showed it, well she most of told me 200 times in less than a year she wanted me to know I guess and she thanked me for not leaving her when she got sick I never understood that though , I guess what I’m trying to say is do everything you can for her and I’m sure you are it’s hard seeing the love of your life sick my

Re: Desperately Seeking Kelleytoons
Wow - after hearing those last two stories I feel like I shouldn't EVER complain or even talk about things.
Thesonsangel - you are truly a saint and, yes, you have been blessed by all your caring by having loving family who truly appreciated all that you did, but I feel like you got handed WAY too much. My wife and I often bring up that old joke about God never giving you more than He thinks you can handle but we wish He didn't have such a high opinion of us, but in your case it's not even a joke. Had I been your father I would have been SO honored to have you as a loving daughter - makes our own look (well, let's just say she comes off rather poor in comparison. She's a very smart and capable person, but loving and caring are not her strengths :>). And your husband is lucky to have you - you sound like the same sort of loving and caring person my wife is (the reason I adore her).
Love_redz - your story is exactly the horror I can't imagine facing. I don't think I could be as strong as you are. My wife keeps telling me there's no way I can't go on because our three little furbabies wouldn't have anyone to care for them (our daughter being the sort not to care for cats much) so there's that. But it's hard to imagine bothering to live if Annie wasn't around. Luckily she is right now, and HOPEFULLY she will get better - if there is any power to prayer whatsoever she will, because SO many beautiful and wonderful folks have said she is in theirs.
Perhaps kratom will help all of us iron out the hardships - I know life could not be perfect, because if it was we would not appreciate it. Just as we need the night to understand how bright the day can be, so does dark times help us appreciate the good ones. Hearing about your stories helps me appreciate just how great I have it right now, so I thank so much the two of you for sharing.

Re: Desperately Seeking Kelleytoons
Welcome back KT.
You know, when you sent me those samples, I literally cried. A grown-ass 35yr old man. It was because I hadn’t received a gift or a kind gesture in years. The fact that someone (you) would go out of their way to do such a nice thing for me was overwhelming. I’ll never forget you for that.
I wish your wife well. I have a neck surgery coming up myself and I am not looking forward to it, but I am looking forward to the eventual pain relief. Try to keep that in mind when things get tough for the missus!

Re: Desperately Seeking Kelleytoons
It makes me very happy to know that I could help, even in a small way.
The greatest thing I've ever learned in life is that because it's so short the ONLY thing that matters is people. I mean this will all my heart - once you realize that friends, family and, yes, even strangers are what is important everything else kind of just falls into place and simplifies things tremendously.
So I do wish you well in your surgery - my dear wife at least survived, but she's having a hard time in her recovery and the only thing I now wish for is for her to be better. Perhaps in a year we will be able to look back and realize just how much she did get better (at the moment it's VERY slow going. Sigh).

If you don’t mind my asking and I hope you don’t find this inappropriate but—does your wife use kratom for pain? If so, could you point me in the direction of a current good batch (unfortunately it can’t be TFH as I still don’t have a membership)? I’ve been striking out lately with my usual vendors; I currently have like 30 reds bought just within the past few months, haha.
I’m in a lot of pain so something even to take the edge off would be miraculous.

Re: Desperately Seeking Kelleytoons
My wife has tried kratom on several occasions without any success - unfortunately, she tried what in essence was "gas station" kratom, long before I ever heard of this forum and found decent vendors. And part of the problem is she HATES the taste of the leaf and we tried SO many ways to get around this before I started making my own capsules. BUT she hates swallowing large pills - she has a very small throat. So the capsules I had to make up were just WAY too big and too many for her. I understand completely - sometimes they are too much even for me.
And while I love her dearly, the fact is that those three or four experiences have forever soured her and she will NOT try again, no matter her pain. She was the main reason I spent nearly a year trying to create my own extracts (that's a whole other story). That's who she is and I understand - she's happy it works for me, but she will never try it again no matter that pain (so she takes a LOT of opioids - so much they rarely have any effect nowadays. Sigh).
So - long story even longer, no reds she tries work, however the main reason *I* was taking kratom for so long was my own pain, which has since (mostly) disappeared due to my knee operations. So I've built up a LOT of good reds over the years. And, yes, while TFH is one of the ones I would recommend, the other (which IS accepting new members from time to time) is Denette - he actually may be my favorite vendor (it's neck and neck with TFH). From him almost any red is great for pain, but in particular his Bone Reds (and even Greens) are something I would never pass up.
So give him a message (he's active here) and see if you can get on. If not, remember there is the trading post and you can nearly always find some really good stuff there. And it's passed the test of time so you can find the reviews here first and then pick it up there, even from TFH.

You might want to give Viable Solutions a try - their Maha Kali Red Vein is excellent for pain reliefKnifePartyNate wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 2:18 pm Thank you so much for the intel Mr. Toons!
