Question about texture
I recently ordered a yellow strain from a well known vendor and when I toss and wash I get a granule-like sensation in my mouth as well as a crunchy feeling between my teeth, not unlike sand. It's not as rough as sand though.
I've used many different strains from different vendors over the years and they've all had a smooth, almost flour-ey feeling around my mouth and gums.
Could this be the way it was ground into a powder causing it to not be as fine as most? Or could this indicate an additive? The strain has positive effects, it's just the texture that's strange.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Question about texture
It definitely could. Some vendor strains have a much coarser grind to them. It could also be that there is some stem and vein in the mix. I don't see a coarse grind as a negative most times so I don't think the vendor would much care if you let us know. I know that Kraydo has a coarse grind Elephamt that is fire.

I came in to comment about the kraydo elephant. Really coarse grind but some damn good leaf! I need to order some more.variant_cover wrote:It definitely could. Re: Question about texture
I've never had a course grind so it was sort of weird at first, but if it's normal then I'm cool with it. Thank you!variant_cover wrote:It definitely could. Re: Question about texture
Actually some of the best suppliers use a coarse grind. the reason for this is because the less time it spends in the grinder the better. The grinders get very hot and burn up some of the alkaloids. lots of times i think suppliers grind very very fine to make inferior or sun dried leaf burn more intense (more surface area=faster absorption) but this seems to be accompanied by a reduction in duration and complexity. Potent leaf on the other hand, doesn't need to be ground very very fine to burn hard, and as a result, its duration is longer with a more compex array of aromas.

That makes sense. I never thought of it that way. Thanks for the info!Mitra-Genie wrote:Actually some of the best suppliers use a coarse grind. the reason for this is because the less time it spends in the grinder the better. Re: Question about texture
It seems like mysticisland so far has the grainiest kratom also the driest but their quality seems to be good. I have gotten Kratom that basically melt-in-your-mouth I love that kratom. It is so fine as soon as it touches the tongue and begins to just melt and there's not a lot of taste it's almost like a cream I wish all Kratom was like that.
