Anyone try Otie's Black Bali?

I was excited about trying it. See how it differed from the "Bent", and other night time leaf. This stuff is a different animal! I barely can be in the same room with it. The smell and taste are really bad ( to me ). I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and do you think that getting some of the "Blate Plaps" and a close pin would do the trick. :)

What is black Bali? I’ve never heard of black kratom. Is it a drying and fermenting method? And now I need to try some haha.

I’ve certainly had some batches of kratom before that had a worse than normal taste. πŸ˜…

I even skipped it last night in rotation. I have to wait to get those Blate Papes. It is toasted I think, toasted kratom. It works good, and is very relaxing. If you try it let me know...:)

Lol, funny enough I dug mine out of storage a few weeks ago and took it a few times since then as a late night serving. It's funky, but imo that's part of its charm. It's possible that its curing process involved another herb or two. I see it as having "Umami". ;)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umami
What the heck, here's a pic of my bag of it. The closure broke on the original so I rebagged it.
P.S. It could be a placebo affect but it seems like it can act somewhat as a hypnotic when taken before going to bed. I'll take some now, in the interests of science and also to see if can provide some "chill". My records show I ordered 250 grams of it on December 4, 2019.

Ahh toasted. I’ve heard of sun dried and fermented, but never really considered it could ever be toasted. πŸ˜‚

That’s interesting. Now I’ll have to try it!

Thanks for sharing a pic! And a vintage 2019 at that. Very nice.

What do you mean by hypnotic? What kind of effects does it give?

Hmm, strictly speaking that can mean something like being on the verge of zoned out, but still alert. With the Black Bali I was implying I might get a small taste of that effect. I did take some and soon felt an urge to lie down, lol, though at my age, and being retired, that isn't unusual. ;)

I also have Otie's Red Bentaguie, and while I like it a lot it's pretty standard, and though fermented isn't what I consider interchangeable with the Black Bali, though it too works well for taking at night. It just affects me differently. I consider the Black Bali more for those who are OK with spending cash on something esoteric.

Ok, you all convinced me to just toss and wash. I will give a full report tomorrow. :)

I much prefer the red bent over the black Bali. I personally didn't get much out of the black Bali, but the red bent really does the trick and is highly recommended in my book.
