Testing a new strain

Post by Hulu2021 »

This is a question/ discussion but about strain reviews so I thought maybe it should here. If I am wrong I apologize.

I want to ask the opinions of others here on this. When we try a strain for the first couple times, to see if it works for us, don’t you think it should be the first one of the day because I feel like anything after previous doses is just stacked and the effects are caused by what u just tried plus the remaining effects of previous doses, am I wrong?
If I am right then when people test strains to see what it does for them, wouldn’t it be safe to say it’s only accurate if you haven’t dosed in more than 4 hrs at least?

I think it depends on the person. For me, my first burn of the day is definitely the best one so that is when I like to test new strains. For the rest of the day, my general rule of thumb is 6-8 hours between doses. No eating a few hours before a burn. I know it’s a highly debated topic, but from my own experience I find an empty stomach is best.

Also - after a big BM (sorry to mention this, but SUPER important as kratom is absorbed in the gut and if it's blocked so will the kratom).

This is also why (mostly) the first burn of the day is the best, as (most) people have a good BM in the morning (otherwise check your diet).

I’ve extensively tested both eating and fasting doses. While a little bit of food doesn’t completely ruin the burn, it’s definitely better on an empty stomach. And yes, first dose of the day is overall best for me. I still get good burns in the afternoon and night, but that first dose of the day is usually best.

My first dose of the day never hits as well for me so I usually just take something I'm overly acquainted with at a lighter dose. I get a better feel for a new batch if my first try is the 2nd or 3rd dose of the day. I always take the same amount for a dose on a new batch vs old batch so I have a more steady point of reference. Once in awhile I get a batch that's especially strong and my regular dose is overkill, but it's good for comparisons.

Do you eat before your AM dose? Do you eat between your first and subsequent doses? I may have a theory…

My eating schedule is irregular, but usually my first dose is on an empty stomach and my last dose is within an hour or two of a large meal, and any doses in between those are variable. The morning dose is usually least effective and evening dose is usually most effective. Maybe that has something to do with it? Seems like it'd be simple enough to test it out.

Also, the morning dose seems slightly better if I take it after I've had coffee first. I mostly drink espresso though and between warming up the machine, pulling a shot, cleaning up, and sitting down to drink it, about an hour passes an that's longer than I'd prefer to wait. It's another thing I could experiment with though.

yeah for context I prob should have said I don’t eat u til later in the day.
Basically my burns stack until around after lunchtime whatever i take kicks my ass. Definitely is not a good time for me to test a strain. I am fresh in the morning; I get great morning burns; It’s when i notice a “change” the most lol.

Kratom is fat soluble. So it’s very possible that food works well with your burns. We need more studies into this plant. Definitely experiment and report back. I will do the same.
