Good strain for sleep

Post by BunnyBoo2011 »

Anyone have any recommendations for strains that help you sleep? My bff has tried ambien, xanax and those didnt work for her, aside from the fact she absolutely didnt want to take that stuff.

I turned her on to Kratom. She tried a few strains from Kats (dark red boneo, and chocolate) and Golden Rule (red bali, yellow sunda). Not a one worked for her. I thought chocolate for sure would do the trick, but no luck.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Herbal RVA's Royal bentuangie and mystic island's vampire (blend of reds) are popular ones.

RVA has Red Ketapang in stock. That usually knocks me right out.

Blend those 2 together and it’s Goodnight.

Just tried RVA’s Red Ket and feel like I need a pretty big burn to feel it’s effects. Maybe it’s the batch?

Could be. Or your own system. The Ketapang I have is from late last year I think. Do you have some Royal Bent you can try blending with it? That might bump it up a bit.

Unfortunately, I have really bad insomnia and it's rare that any strains will ever make me drowsy. Even the heaviest of reds only relax me, but don't make me sleepy tired. In the rare event they do, it only lasts for a dose or two, then the insomnia kicks back in. For example, I had some luck getting to sleep using red sulawesi for a brief period but then it stopped working for sleep. I find that gold bali and red bali really relax me, so I feel those would be good suggestions for people looking to sleep.

Curious, how long before lights out does everyone take their sleep dose?

I've never taken kratom specifically for sleep, but if a blend or strain gives me the nods I find it happens 2 or 3 hours after my dose. Is that the usual delay?

I like to take it a good hour and a half, two hours before I want to sleep, so it can kick in and be enjoyed for a little bit. I typically take it with either valerian or melatonin which adds to the relaxation. I have anxiety so it's nice and sometimes necessary to have some help getting to sleep.
