i got sent this from my girlfriends mom because i recently had a random seizure the other day and she has been trying to find out why. i just know for a fact it wasn't the kratom but the video had me thinking how he died. i think he was doing other painkillers, since he seem like a addict.
i wanted to know what you guys thought
i never had a seizure before and i just think it was cause by a panic attack. but i never had those before either so idk

also i know in the link it says something about sweeteners, just ignore that, it goes to the kratom video

Forgive me for not watching the video, but Dr. Oz gets up my nose in a bad way anyway, and from my research into the subject I can tell you that in the handful of deaths involving kratom in the United States, ALL of them involved other substances. Not a single one was attributable to kratom alone, and many of the substances found alongside it at autopsy are lethal in and of themselves.

Check out this analysis of the deaths held by the FDA to be kratom related: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18FhvMc ... n2DpeJ_QG/

And this interesting article, based on FOIA information, about the FDA witch hunt on kratom: https://www.inquisitr.com/opinion/46599 ... docs-show/

Let me know if those aren't enough, I have many more. You might want to rely on sources other than Dr. Oz for -- well, pretty much anything you stake your health on, not just kratom. He's like the Oprah of the medical field.

And stop guessing about what is causing your seizures. Get it checked out by a -real- doctor, please! They have tests to find out what causes them, and ways to control them. Don't harm your health by waiting and guessing about it. Hope you feel better soon!

Haha it's fine! Yeah I don't believe the FDA and all the "kratom deaths"
I wanted to discuss this because I have always heard about the deaths on Reddit and such but never seen a article or video about it. And I hate what the FDA is doing to our wonderful kratom. I can't live with out it.

Thank you for the links I'm going to check them out, I haven't really anything in depth about this stuff.

Yes I have a doctor's appointment about my seizure on Thursday at a VA hospital. I believe kratom had nothing to do with it as I have been taking the same batch from a trusted source for half a year

I think the guy in the video might have been taking kratom from a headshop and I have heard some headshop adding other opiates to their stuff

That would be a pretty strong indication to me too.

There was a thread on the subreddit a couple months ago about whether or not people tell their doctors when they're taking kratom (and an even longer one about whether people tell their mental health professionals); you might want to check those out before your appointment, because while you want your doc to know everything you're taking, some people have had truly shitty experiences with docs who didn't understand kratom.

Since you WILL absolutely be asked in depth about everything you're taking (if they're doing their jobs right, and for the same reason your gf's mom sent you the video) you should decide now how you want to approach it. It really all depends on the current knowledge and competence of your doc, but just -knowing- it's going to come up and might be a hot issue is better than getting smacked across the face with it.

Me, I'd think twice about saying the word "kratom" at all -- especially if I was already pretty well convinced that it had nothing to do with whatever's wrong with me -- just so that they'd go ahead and do all the tests they normally do and not blame kratom for everything, but that's only me and not necessarily what -you- should do.

Either way, you should know ahead of time this might be a contentious issue when you get there. And maybe not: a LOT of vets have discovered kratom and your doc may know all about it and be cool with it. So who knows?

I'm glad you already have an appointment to get it checked out, seizures are nothing to fool around with. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
