Hey Fan,
That's not really correct ... Mark Pocan amendment was a "Rules Committee Amendment", and ALL the Republicans voted against kratom. All Democrats voted to support kratom. The SITSA bill is being debated on the House Floor and scheduled for a vote on Friday.

PLEASE .. Let's calm down .. this entire Panic over Pocan's Amendment was ridiculous. It had NO chance - He's a Progressive Democrat.. and congress is run by the Republicans. Very few Democrat amendments are getting passed, or even allowed for debate. You wanna support Mark Pocan?? Vote OUT the Republicans this November... simple as that.

Today on CSPAN I watched as Jared Polis (D-Colorado) presented kratom to Congress. He spoke about Medical Marijuana, and Kratom, being used to solve the opioid epidemic. Let's see how many Republicans are willing to work with Polis, and Pocan, and others to support kratom!

i'm not purposing we ask for pocan to be added, im asking the we call our reps to vote no on SITSA which will effect kratom. kratom may not be in the bill or at least the summary available, but if SITSA is passed on friday by the Senate and house the acting attorney general will have full power of temp and perm scheduling. now they have always had that power, but the literature is so broad that it will allow, plants, botanicals or any substance to be added by the AG. and worst of all he wont be required to back anything by science or an 8-factor. SITSA puts way too much power into the AGs hands, ive always been against SITSA the only good thing the Pocan Amendment did was it exempt kratom from the SITSA addition to the CSA. there will be a new addition to the controlled list called A which will be beside Schedules I-V. A will allow any substance jeff sessions wishes to be added without scientific evidence.

The Pocan amendment has already been voted down 6-4 and it can no longer be added to the SITSA act. what the AKA, BEA and KRatom united are doing now is calling reps to ask them to vote no on SITSA with or without Pocan.

The good news is sitsa is only expected to have a 31% chance to pass the Senate. There are far to many democrats who don't want the republican AG to have that much power over drugs and substances.

Drew absolutely knows his stuff, but that video is a year old -- he published it a year ago yesterday! -- meaning that the language in the bill has surely changed in the interim.

To what degree and whether that affects kratom directly I don't know, but I wouldn't call it "nothing" just yet...
