New posts create an auto subscription.
Hey what's up EP, HH, and or Blends?! So all the sudden as of today Everytime I make a post or response or whatever it auto signs me up as a subscriber to that thread.... So everytime someone replies or posts on it as well I get an email notification out of the blue. Why is this happening? How do I fix it? I have looked through all of the preferences and setting and can't find anything even remotely close to able to control this.....

You broke the forum. Prepare to be banned.
I'll see if I can poke around and see what's up. We might have to wait for e_poison to figure it out.

I had a quick look before I had to leave for some errands and I couldn't see what might be doing this

Did you check "Notify me when a reply is posted" maybe.I'm not sure what that does but on the surface sounds related

Haven't even seen that anywhere hahaha. Only thing is at the very bottom to subscribe and I currently am not subscribed to any posts except this one, yet I get notifications on every thread I've posted on all the sudden lolswablero wrote:Did you check "Notify me when a reply is posted" maybe.I'm not sure what that does but on the surface sounds related

Already logged in and out, deleted cookies, and deleted all subscriptions lol! Yeah I tried the notify thing long ago and it never worked so I turned it off again and now months and months later it's doing it on it's own tho I don't want it to hahahaswablero wrote:I never got the "notify" to work myself ,lol. you somehow have. must be a random software glitch. try logging in and out maybe.

Very strange, the last changes I made to the forum software were earlier this week. Before troubleshooting this - I would log out, clear your browser cache/cookies, then log back in and see if it helps. If it doesn't, please report back here.
edit: Nevermind, just saw your above post. I think we posted at the same time lol.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
When you go to make a post, check the Options section at the bottom of the screen under the posting area.
You should see an option called "Notify me when a reply is posted". Make sure this is unchecked.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
Looks like the option thing is the issue.... But it's auto checked everytime now. So now I have to uncheck it everytime I post?! That'll be annoying and def won't even remember which makes it more annoying lole_poison wrote:When you go to make a post, check the Options section at the bottom of the screen under the posting area.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
Go into your user profile and find Board Preferences -> Edit Posting Defaults
Switch 'Notify me upon replies by default:' to 'NO' and then hit save.
This will apply it globally so you don't have to manually uncheck it everytime.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
I'm having to log in every 3 seconds. It's constantly checking if my connection is secure. After I log in I have to log in again if I want to post anything or change what I'm viewing. It didn't used to do that.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
Could be a temporary issue with cloudflare, but most likely a browser issue. It happens to me sometimes on Safari for a few different websites. Have you cleared all site cookies? That should solve the problem in most cases.

Re: New posts create an auto subscription.
Which phone/browser do you use?
If it's an iPhone using Safari, I have this problem too on some websites. One site I visit (not this one though) keeps logging me out and I keep having to reset my cookies. Must be something with the latest Safari update. Good news is that it's an easy fix.
If you want to clear only the cookies for Double M:
Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Show All Sites > Search for "doublemherbals" > Swipe left and tap delete.
Or, you can simply wipe everything. This will log you out of everything and clear your browsing history:
Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data
