Crisp Kratom - Fresh, whole, Kratom Leaves

Post by dantheleafman »

CRISP FRESH WHOLE KATOM LEAVES - 10/10 Stars!

Chewing fresh kratom leaves has always been a bucket list item for me. When I saw Crisp was offering fresh, whole, organic, and domestically grown (Florida) Kratrom leaves I had to order. Price was steep at $75 per 500 grams of fresh leaf, but I bit the bullet for "science sake." And it's not too bad if you consider you gget two sizeable packages with between 200-300 leaves (estimate).

The leaves were very fresh with no wilting and firm to the touch. A nice light fragrant odor similar to what any fresh greens would smell like. I washed them thoroughly and started to chew about 3 (3"x4") leaves. The taste is similar to fresh kale. Bitter, but not unpleasant. It takes about 2-3 minutes of chewing for the leaves to dissolve down to a chewy pulp in the mouth. I chose to spit the small remaining amount out, but some choose to swallow it.

Effects onset immediately and continue to build for 15 to 30 minutes. An intense head high evolving into a nice body high, but very pleasant and not all speedy or anxiety inducing. Very strong energy and focus along with analgesic effect that made my sore lower mid back pain vanish. The burn is very similar to a top-notch white, green, or red mid-upper strain. Legs seem to be a bit shorter at 1-3 hours depending upon amount of leaf chewed.

My only concern is keeping them fresh enough to use the entire batch before it starts to wilt. Perhaps Crisp will consider selling them in small batches in the future. The owner advised me to wrap the stems in plastic wrap and store them in the refrigerator to maximize shelf life. Options include freeze-drying or sun drying the remainder to make crush/loose leaf. I also plan to make a tea and maybe even purchase a juicer to try extract some fresh "kratom juice." I'm also tempted to make a fresh leaf tincture. Crisp already offers one I have yet to try although I hear its very good!

Hope this review is helpful! I'll report back on the teas. drying, and tincture methods when I get there!

I was sent some fresh leaves 4 or 5 years ago. They were smallish and from a young tree, but I noticed the onset was
faster than with dried kratom powder and they made my lips numb. Fun experience!

If you're a kratom geek like me, definitely check it out. The trees are from a Florida grower and are harvested and grown organically. I'm very interested in domestically grown kratom as well, so that checked a box for me too. So far, I've chewed them, made tea, and threw them in my morning smoothie. I also plan to (I know this sounds crazy) string dry some in my living room and maybe even attempt fermentation. After a week they are keeping pretty well. I also layered some with parchment paper, stuck them in a zip lock and put them in the freezer. I'm thinking tea made from those should be pretty good. Definitely a novel experience!

Some of them were pretty big. There was a mix of sizes. Definitely get a tingling and slightly numbing mouth feel. I bet they'd make a killer tincture too!

I'd be interested in how their powdered leaf is/how green it actually is. Some of my favorite leaf over the years have always been a bright neon green indicating indoor drying.

They don't do "strains" or "colors." Just batches. The current batch is 2.08 MIT. Not that MIT is everything, but its a banger alright. Batch #126. They also have some domestic powder I think they get from the Florida grower they source the fresh leaves from. I know I sound like a walking commercial for them, but this is pretty good kratom in my opinion.

Looks like they offer a smaller pack of 'freeze dried' leaves too. If I win the lottery I'll try them all.
