Anyone a trucker?

Got my CDL A and I’m about to head out over the road. I’m getting nervous about going into states like Arkansas and Alabama where they are sending people to prison for 10 f*cking years for having like 250g of Kratom on them. I’m wondering if there are any truckers on here that have had any experience with those states and if there were ever any close calls. I understand that your sleeper berth is treated like your home so they’re not supposed to go through your personal things without a warrant, but I’m also aware that police can and will find a way to search wherever they like if they want to, ie I smell marijuana. Just do the old matcha tea switchout. I used to carry matcha tea and kratom at the same time sometimes and it was super hard to tell them apart as substances. You know, like super green colored.

I am.in a legal state, so that paranoia and terror wasn't there, not sure about that insanity. Matcha and kratom can be easily interchanged is more what I mean.

Or you can say ANYTHING is in the little green capsules. "It's seaweed grass powder" you know, wtf ever! Screw them it's none of their business anyway.

That's true. It is a really big problem and I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Probably If I had to go to an illegal state for my job, which is entirely possible, some of our crew is four states away as I type this, I would just take one batch in the matcha bag just because being somewhere states away with no kratom wouldn't fare well with my constitution or my work ethic.

I do utility work, we clear power lines of trees during storms, which is kiiiiiinda important, you'd think they would let me have whatever tea I want at any given time, but i guess not. I'm not quite THAT much of an adult? It's infuriating for sure.

This is a tough one. Hopefully other truckers will chime in. It's a shame kratom is considered the same as heroin in some states. Idiots!

I used to do the matcha tea thing when vacationing down at Gulf Shores. I wasn't too worried once I got to the condo but I was scared to death driving through the state. After some of the stories I've read about people getting jail time for small amounts, I personally wouldn't chance it anymore. It's ironic, I was at Gulf Shores when I first learned of kratom 8 years ago.

A couple years ago, I had to drive to Texas through Arkansas where it's not legal, so what I did is just mailed it to my destination in Texas rather than risk driving with it. It's not worth the risk imo.

Same way as with matcha you can do with the Athletic Greens, I know that doesn't add much to carry but a little variety

Trucker here with serious chronic pain issues. There's enough demand for truckers to stay local or run states that its legal in I wouldn't risk it . Would try for a dedicated route all of western 11 states are legal .

Tried this but as a new grad I have to get my 1 year experience wherever someone will take me because everyone wants at least 1 year experience before they’ll hire you. I’m also right next to Indiana so there’s no avoiding that one.
I think I have a good plan by hiding it in plain sight. I’ll portion my leaf out for a couple weeks worth then add some protein powder to mask the color a bit, then I’ll have bags of super greens (veggies not Leaf) and a bag of matcha all together in a separate bag. It will essentially look like I’ve portioned out protein powder and added some powdered greens and matcha. None of the bags will say Kratom and the protein powder should hide the color enough.

Also you might consider capsules - unless you are REALLY unlucky no way anyone could tell whether the capsule you are consuming is some kind of medicine or other legal herb (I tend to put my capsules in our used medicine bottles anyway when I'm away from home). Much easier to deal with as well.

Yeah I considered that Kelly but unfortunately historically I’m incredibly unlucky lol. Seriously though, my luck is really really bad. Still, it’s something to consider. Thanks Kelly and everyone who chimed in!!

I know exactly how you feel. My daughter's mother and i are both 1%ers. Not the good 1% though, EVER, but instead, every single thing that could wrong, every obscure side effect, legal bullshit..
