I've been on this forum long enough so hopefully I can, respectfully, share my thoughts and experiences with 7oh without being thrown to the wolves so-to-speak, and I certainly don't want to make others not come to Doublemm because of my opinion/experience with 7oh... and I promise I'm not trying to argue and sing 7oh praises, but I use both 7oh and plain leaf kratom. Have for over a year now. Me, my mom, and my dad actually, all use 7oh daily. We've, luckily, had no issues. No problems with it, without it. No withdrawals, no tolerance increases. Maybe we are an extreme rare anomaly when it comes to 7oh, but it's worked extremely well for the 3 of us. I'm actually placing an order with TFH tonight and below I'm pasting what I sent in my email to Chris/Gumbyke since he mentioned he's heard mostly negative 7oh stories from customers, and I wanted to share a positive 7oh experience:
(below is direct copy/paste from my email to Chris at TFH):
My father last year around March/April 2025 had to stop taking plain leaf kratom. He was having issues with being too nauseous and his stomach could no longer handle powder form. He also deals with difficulty swallowing pills so capsules became too much of a struggle. And so, I was running out of options for him, and turned to 7oh to try to help his pain without kratom (since doctors still would not prescribe him any pain meds). And the success was HUGE, just as kratom was a game changer for us in 2015 when we first discovered it. 7oh provides him with better relief and he only needs 1-3 pills. I keep his doses low, around 20-30mg per dose, about 2-3 times a day, and still add in some kratom extract pills for him in combo with the 7oh, and he's finally been able to sleep again after years of suffering with not sleeping from too much pain. 7oh just has greater relief. And he's gone days without any 7oh without any trouble, no withdrawals, etc. He has been in the hospital twice this year, and no issues with pain meds they gave him while there, the little pain meds they actually did provide him while he was in the hospital (I mention that because I know it's a fear for many that 7oh will cause pain meds to no work in such a situation, but for my father, no issues in that regard. Everyone is different and I've read plenty who've had opposite reactions though and got little to zero effect from traditional pain meds)... For him, the pros outweigh the potential cons. And that's all each individual has to decide when it comes to what we put in our bodies. But honestly, since my father can't take regular plain leaf anymore, without 7oh his quality of life would be HORRIBLE.
Now for my mother and myself, we started incorporating 7oh into our daily routines alongside our regular plain leaf kratom. And again, the results have been spectacular for the pain relief aspect. And an added bonus is we've cut down out daily kratom grams per day by a lot. My mother went from approximately 75gpd leaf (I know, way too much;, she let it get out of hand with constant dosing) to now she takes about 30gpd alongside about 30-50mg per day of 7oh (in doses of 10-20mg per dose). I'm down to 4-6gpd (from 15-18gpd) of leaf and around 20-40mg of 7oh as well (10-20mg doses also). We've had no issues with tolerance. Plain leaf actually works much better now that we've reduced daily usage. And have never had the need nor desire to increase 7oh use- we simply use 7oh in an "as-needed" way, and treat it essentially as we would a normal prescription of pain meds. We only use 7 for pain, and if no pain, we don't take it. And we use plain leaf every single day as well, and keep 7oh dose to the lowest mg dose that works (10-20mg for us). I should add we do not have addictive personalities, and none of us experience any euphoric effects from 7oh- just relief, which is all we look for. I think too many people chase a "high" or a specific feeling, and that is where they get into trouble, although no judgement to those who seek euphoria and/or highs- this world is on fire, I don't blame anyone who wants to get high at home for whatever reasons, adults should be able to do as they please IMO as long as it's not harming others. We've been lucky: 7oh has improved our pain relief tremendously and without any negative side effects. We've all gone days without using 7 without issues or withdrawal. As a bonus, my mother no longer gets kratom withdrawals in-between doses as she did when she was taking 75gpd (I can't believe I let her get her dosage up that high- since I make her doses, I feel somewhat responsible for her high usage amounts).
There's a lot of problems with 7oh, but there's also positives (harm reduction for example) and I fear the positives are not being shared enough and thus the overwhelming image of 7oh is extremely negative. I do agree that it is extremely easy to abuse, the marketing is terrible (as are many mit extracts/shots and companies like OPMS and "Feel Free" -- hell those Feel Free drinks have a shitton of negative news and horror stories about its products, and it's somewhat associated with kratom, should that be banned as well?). And people should treat 7oh very carefully or it can become a serious problem. Less is more, as with kratom (and most things in life), and with 7oh. Everything in moderation, and education is key in my opinion. I fear the loss of access to 7oh will result in relapses and also in people dying if they go back to street drugs, as well as the pain people will suffer without access to a tool like 7oh (just as I worry the negatives of 7oh will result in blanket kratoms bans). What is my father to do without 7oh? He won't drink kratoms tea (the man nearly died cause he refuses to drink water, literally was in kidney failure from dehydration, he's stubborn to say the least haha). Should he be denied access to it because of other peoples experiences with 7oh? It's a lifeline and only hope for many, like my father. Some people need stronger relief than what regular kratoms provides, or cannot tolerant the plant matter, etc etc but for whatever reasons some folks have greater success with 7oh than leaf especially regarding pain relief. If doctors treated pain patients with proper pain meds, perhaps this conversation wouldn't even be happening... I hate the division within the community, and that many of the same negative talking points used against kratom over the years - I heard kratom called "gas station Heroin" long before 7oh products were on shelves - are now being using against 7oh (though I do understand that perspective about the risks 7oh could pose to kratoms as a whole because our government doesn't care to distinguish the differences, and I don't think 7oh should be marketed as if it is regular kratom or the same thing because it isn't). In my opinion adults should be able to have the right to choose to take whatever they feel helps them live their best lives, so as long as it is not harming others (whereas one could argue alcohol shouldn't be legal or sold in bars due to the harm it causes to others through drunk driving alone- not that I am making that argument, just using an example off the top of my head and it's 4am so forgive me if this message isn't the clearest

). 7oh has harm reduction potential (just as it has its own risks), not to mention the risk that if 7oh becomes a schedule 1 drug that all of kratom could be at risk due to the trace amounts of 7oh in plain leaf (hoping Congress/government makes that distinction is a serious gamble).
Sorry for the LONG story/rant. Sorry if I was all over the place and didn't make sense- it's been a long hard year for me. My dad's in really bad shape, my mother is getting worse, being their caregiver is fucking hard, and I just turned 40 so that sucks by itself

, and these ban threats are a constant stress. So I just wanted to share a positive story of 7oh. Though I do hope my 7oh experience doesn't drive them away from engaging on this forum (nor am I suggesting anyone use 7oh)
