First Time Ordering From Happy Hippo

Hi, as the title said, I'm about to order from HH for the first time. Is there any strains that u suggest? I'm a big fan of reds and greens. Red Bali has been the most affective for me in the past. I've seen a lot of HH reviews that say they're overpriced but that's not a concern for me right now, just looking to try HH out. Thanks!

Yes I read that thread but didn't come away with any useful information. Most of the thread is about HH being overpriced and people promoting other vendors. I've never ordered from there and looking for a euphoric/sedating strain.

HH was the first kratom I ever tried, before I understood colors, names and dosage. Either it wasn't particularly great, or I just never got the hang of it those first few times. The only review I can state with any confidence was that I really preferred the HH2 over the HH1. Boosted my mood and helped me stay calm. Worked really well on social anxiety, and didn't sedate me any, that I can recall. I'd be curious to know what's in it....betting it was a red/blend since that seems to be my best color pretty much everywhere.

Customer service was good and it was easy to pay. How are their prices, comparatively? I left b/c they were too expensive.

Have I? No. I'd rather go with a vetted vendor here and get twice the amount than trying a vendor you can't find reviews on that unfairly marks their prices up, just to put it in perspective. I know you don't care about the price, but I'm assuming you care about quality. Why don't you try out a vendor that has a ton of current reviews? Sosa, smiley, mitraman, etc. Why so set on HH?

The are a bunch of exceptional vendors that have what you are looking for and for a decent price. Price is a big factor because kratom is a plant, so it will affect everyone differently. Each batch from each vendor is different. And one vendor may be great for one person and not great for another. One red Bali may be sedating and one more energetic. So in a way, it’s a bit of a gamble trying a new vendor. It’s definitely a good idea to see what vendors most people are using and loving and trying them; because there is so much info from such knowledge people. Plus, if there is any kind of issue, there is a great chance that the vendor will seriously make it right. From what I have read, the people that use HH, seem to have a strain or two that they just happened to like and still order sometimes. I am sure more people will chime in with recommendations, too!
In case you are open to ideas:
For me, sedating/euphoric- MitraMan- red Sumatra; Sosa Speciosa- red sunda, red jungle, yellow Vietnam; Liza’s Botanicals- tons of threads on her reds; smiley time herbals- also tons of threads on his strains.

Akuamma is very hard to get past the taste so it depends on how and what you are using it for.

Sure some of their kratom is "good". MOST kratom is good, everybody's got good average kratom... The issue is support. Please don't support bullshit profiteers, who have raked in HUGE $ in recent years by jacking up prices. Hippo Rippo = online head shop... that cute little elephant, reaching for your wallet, lol

Agree what others are saying... There's easily 50+ online vendors to support, before I'd give a dime to HH.

100% markup is fair... 300-600% markup is fucking bullshit. These vendors pay something like 35-65 per kilo (a place like hippo pays even less), so I would steer clear of places charging more than 140 bucks per kilo. Also, as Ballz would tell you, bulk buyers often get crap to average quality compared to small batch buyers who tend to be cheaper anyway. And a place like hippo no doubt seeks out the absolute cheapest shit they can find for maximum profits. They are the worst of this industry.

I remember discovering the Kratom subReddit and being amazed by the cheap prices people were mentioning there. I also remember assuming that the cheaper vendors probably didn't have as good quality and then being so pleasantly surprised that almost every single one of them had better Kratom than HH. I've never looked back.

I still get email offers from them in my spam folder. Occasionally I check their prices! Even with
their 30% off offers, they're not even in the ballpark. I suppose they get enough suckers to pay
that price to stay in business. They really should be ashamed of themselves. I know I've mentioned
several times in other threads how I was paying $40-$45 per ¼ kilo for quite a while thinking that
vendors offering leaf at half the price just couldn't be offering quality stuff. My God, was I wrong.
I've gotten leaf for $18 bucks a ¼ kilo (of course that's buying a whole kilo) and it was way better than
the $45 leaf. I'm a long time kratomizer and some of the leaf out there right now is about as good as
it gets and the prices have HH beat by ten miles.

Agreed. HH has some Chocolate Bentuangie on their site right now. The only Indo supplier I have ever seen call their stuff Chocolate is VLNT and low and behold you can get that chocolate VLNT stuff from other vendors that price their kilos way, way less than HH. Or just buy from VLNT directly. There are hints about where HH get their supply from if you look for them

To answer the OP regardless of price, I've made 2 decent sized purchases from them within the last few months and I was extremely underwhelmed. There wasn't a single strain I received and enjoyed. I hate to pile on because HH was the first place I ever bought from and had enjoyed the product at the time. The poor quality accompanied by the fact that it ran out insanely quick in comparison to all other recent purchases I made (aka price is much higher for much less quantity) confirmed for me that I had made my last purchase there. Oh well.
