Planning on going to Florida for vacation?

I was going to take a well needed vacation to destin ,,ALL THE BEACHES ARE CLOSED! ! Except Pensacola, but still,the algae ,and flesh eating disease, I am not going, ,according to the information, not allowed on the beaches,and something about an acrid odor,lifeguards are wearing gas masks! I thought it was further south like Sarasota, but something about the flood waters this year dumping toxinc in the ocean from Mississippi River it's worse now ,,,maybe forget about the ocean, go west or east coast ,Virginia brach,idk,,at least I didn't book and pay for room yet,, anyone live in Florida, is it really as bad as what I read??

I just saw on the news..."don't go in the water" maybe, try Myrtle beach in South Carolina instead?

Red tide is worse this year,apparently further south, the algae is emitting an acrid odor,,,can cause neurological and liver damage,,can't eat the fish, ,and in the panhandle, flood waters dumping into the gulf are contaminated with septic waste,,chemical runoff s from crops, I guess like round up,etc. Last I heard Pensacola is only beach open,,,idk,,forget about it, ,lot of lost revenue on tourist, who wants to pay 400 and up for a room,,,flesh eating bacteria, good grief, ,

No, just everything from New Jersey down to South Beach.. too many goddamn people.

Pacific - I grew up at the beach in Oregon.. super cold, but clean. Maybe in the Summer you can swim, but it's always COLD!!

Atlantic - I lived right ON the beach, Hollywood, Florida 1988- "nice" and disgusting warm, lol and smells bad, and full of jellyfish to sting the hell out of ya... Then, nothing like seeing a High Tide full of... medical waste. Yes. Syringes washing up... that was 30 years ago. I heard it's much worse now.

Screw the ocean,then,when I was younger, the beaches in the Gulf side of Florida, were beautiful, went down there about 10 yrs ago,couldn't see the ocean, condos everywhere, ,smoky mountains,,no, climbing, no can do,,,hahaha! Might just go to the country, swim in the pond, ,it's peaceful down there

I have some recent experience with Pensacola Beach. Nothing is ever as bad as they lead you to believe. It’s all about clicks and ratings. There are still thousands of people going to Pensacola Beach every day. There are other great beaches a short drive away from there too. I say go there and you won’t regret it. Although I haven’t been in a couple months, I work with many people who travel to Pensacola Beach every weekend and I have heard ZERO bad reviews.

I have a place near Bonita Beach just north of Naples. Was really bad last year, but it's all good now.
