Cats claw and Kava together

Has anyone used these at the same time before? Do we know if theyre safe to take at the same time? Thanks in advance for any help!

Pretty much every time I've taken Kava since December 2017 I've had Cat's Claw extract (Uncaria Tomentosa, not any of the others) as part of my daily routine, though I take one day a week off from most all stuff except Vitamins B, and C, and Kratom, along with oils and aminos.

And I frequently would take Kava extract for weeks on end, with maybe a break of a couple of weeks a few times a year.

Dr. Atkins cited Cat's Claw as "touted by many as the closest thing yet to an herbal panacea". That's from his Vita-Nutients Solutions book that I got at a sale of used books at my local library. I can quote any section if someone would like to know his take on something not too recently discovered.

Holds up really well for a book from 1998.

I get the Cat's Claw extract from Amazon, the Now brand, which has an exceptionally reasonable price, imo.

I'd buy my Kava based on the level of kavalactones present per milligram per dollar in the capsules, but at times I'd spoil myself with Nature's Answer's full spectrum, Kava 6, variety, or Herb Pharm's liquid extract, both of which while really reasonable for what they offered, weren't the best deal.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, I'd often take in the neighborhood of close to a thousand milligrams of kavalactones a day.

I don't know if there's a risk in combing these two, I started slow when mixing them, though there's nothing too radical in either of them. I guess a lot depends on one's health, and what medications one might be taking.

Thank you so much for the reply! I have the Chinese cats claw but I've decided to start it, taking it slow. So far all is well and it's helping my withdrawal during this taper immensely. I will come back and update if it causes any problems!

Definitely post your progress! If you want suggestions for future, scheduled, tolerance breaks then I'm sure this forum has plenty.

I use Bulk Supplements for the bang for the buck on some powdered extracts, but nowadays several vendors of Kratom offer some good alternative botanical stuff as well. In Sense/Gold Leaf Botanicals just got some of my cash, and before them Tea Time Botanicals.

But forget all of that for now, you're playing it smart by keeping it simple. A good taper could consist of nothing extra but lots of clean water.

Hey guys, sorry it's been a little while. I ended up using the Chinese cats claw extract that I have for about 4-5 days, taking it before my morning kratom dose, and after drinking the kava the night before so the kava was still in my system pretty good and I had no negative effects that I could tell. The dose of cats claw was between 250mg 5:1 extract and increasing to 1 gram of 5:1 extract on the last day. I have a hard time remembering exactly but I think I took the last gram dose of cats claw extract along with my kava at night but I can't be 100 percent sure of that (i really should have typed this up sooner). After that I felt like I had a low enough daily Total kratom dose for long enough to get some effects back, and the dermo from daily kava use for the last few months had finally caught up with me so now it is time for a kava break and get back on my regular kratom schedule. Also I'd like to tack on here that the amount of kava I was using daily was around 8-12 TBLS squanch Waka every evening. Just want to include as much info as I can, and I'd be happy to try and answer any questions if I can.
