All things tea
I have always loved tea. Starting with Liptons hot and iced as a child. Now my favorite is Ten Ren Jasmine green tea, I drink 4 or 5 cups every day. I went through a LOT of jasmine teas on the market including the expensive ones in the grocery stores (that tasted nothing like jasmine) until I found this one.
I've never really been into herbal teas but lately I've been thinking about creating my own blends. Adding rose buds or jasmine flowers.
Tonight I was watching a video I saw on FB and it really got me going. Found some of the folded and dried lotus flowers on Etsy and ordered a glass teapot from Amazon.

Oohh I do like chai! I was at a local festival (barter faire) one year and this lovely young lady was selling chai made with whole spices and saffron. Called it Pakistani Chai. If you ever get the chance, try chai with just a hint of saffron it it.

I've been drinking this tea blend from trader joes every night it works great and has completely replaced melatonin for me. It's great with kratom as well if you like sedation, like myself.

Melatonin only works for a few days for me. Taking it every day seems to nullify the effects. I usually take it for a few days, take a few weeks off, and try it again. It usually comes in 1mg-5mg tablets, but I've read a lot of anecdotes that only a small fraction of that is really needed, <1mg. I've been prescribed 10mg a night before, it seemed like overkill.
I do like some of the sleepytime teas, even though they don't really make me tired. I enjoy passionflower and lemon in evening tea. I've also read passionflower extract being used anecdotally as a natural treatment for anxiety. During the day I'm more of a black or green tea fan.

I was given some sublingual melatonin that works almost too good. I think it might be 3 mg.

Yeah melatonin stopped working for me entirely most likely because I was taking too much of it. In fact I think it made my sleep even worse because I became dependent on taking it in order to start feeling sleepy. So this tea seems to much better for me and works pretty well.Kaitlanfutbol wrote:Melatonin only works for a few days for me. Taking it every day seems to nullify the effects. Love this subject, in fact i am a freak of tea's. I got so many that some is already expired... good thing i got vacuum sealer, it help some of it last longer with oxygen packs. As most of you know Guayusa Leaf is one of my favorite, Rhodiola Root is my second one, when you take a break from kratom its an perfect stress/anxiety reliever. But if combined with lemon grass and chamomile its a power house. I have never used melotonine for sleep but when i use to work for amazon packing boxes, that seemed to be almost on every other order. Tea is the answer because its natural and always worked for me. I might come back to this subject and talk more of other tea's later... i am glad this subject got started.. i think it should be sticky to be honest. The most natural things that help us with everyday life, cant go wrong with that!

Re: All things tea
sweet, i have blue lotus powder.
And everyone knows Brave777 introduced me to guayusa leaves!!
I don't like jasmine or oolong tea, I do like black and green, mostly by themselves; dunno how the Brits put milk and sugar, this ain't coffee!
