Unfortunately, I live in Iowa lol. I absolutely hate the midwest. Probably moving out west next spring, and looking forward to it. I need mountains and beautiful scenery instead of corn fields and grey skies.

Glad to hear you're escaping, man! Having been forced under duress to visit Iowa as a child, I came to the conclusion that if you stand on tiptoe somewhere in the eastern part of the state you can pretty much see clear across to Nebraska. Well, that and corn. Lots of corn. Corn, and more corn.

I think you'll love it out west, especially in the Rockies. I have some friends that moved out to a small town in Colorado and absolutely -love- it. They look out the window and it's paradise. It's still incredibly rural, but a totally different feel and much more relaxed way of life. And the pot's legal there: bonus.

Me, I've traveled all over the world and lived in multiple US states, but I love the South. Can't imagine ever living anywhere else, to be honest, though I'm pretty sure we're going to start losing bits as they fall into the sea. I'll just have to move the barbecue uphill a ways, I guess.

Near I-5 and between Portland and Seattle. Friends and family in both of those places.

We've been over-run .. Worst traffic mess in the USA, according to recent article .. Californians buying up all the houses with their California money. Legal weed and the hippie invasion, 10 years after Portlandia TV show. Literally crowds of homeless campers.. starving junkies.. knives and pit-bulls.. piles of shit everywhere.

Stay away unless you've got a LOT of money

I live on the coast in South Carolina. Most likely after finishing my masters degree I’m leaving the south. I moved to Seattle in 2011 but came back because of instate tuition.

I was born in Niagara Falls, NY but moved to the KY/TN line as a kid. I hated it here for a long time, but as an adult it's not too bad. I'm close to Nashville and there's a lot to do there. There is also a shitload of music venues. I've seen some really good bands there.

Wow, REALLY, how can you stand the COLD up there? I'm in customer service, on the phones now days, and so many people from MN seem so unhappy (and GRUMPY)...I just chalk it up to too much cold weather, haha. I was born and raised here, so we may even know each other? You go to High School here?

You do. I am in "the land of enchantment" (NM) and it is very very different and so much less miserable. Some of the most peaceful years I have seen.

The Ozarks is where we were. I grew up outside KC at Independence, but spent most of my adult life in North Narcansas. I was def there for the nature.
I think about 2020?? I am going back over to our farm there, just hoping pot and kratom are legal by then.

I think its easy enough to imagine the stress relief when one is no longer criminalized - the noticeable thing is the physical stress relief. Legal kratom and weed change your body and not because you are eating them.

Going north might not be a bad idea? If there really are boats off venezuela and people are in the nieghborhood, I would wonder if they might help a few bits slide in, because they're just holding on by the slake". Easy spot for lots of effect. Bayou corne..

San Jose, CA for me. It was borderline rural when I grew up, now it's a concrete jungle with way too many people. It's insane here. I love northern Idaho like by Coeur d'Alene, I love Kentucky, etc. I love trees & mountains & wish I could get 'ol wifie to move. If Florida didn't get blown away every 5 years I'd like it, too & would love to grow some Mitragyna trees. Sigh. Some of you want to move west. Don't pick California. Even if you like the politics, there's incredible problems, like nobody can afford to buy a home. Now that I'm retired, I want to live in a peaceful environment. A buddy of mine wants me to move by him up in Wisconsin - gawd no!

My people in cali say "you have trees!" every time they are in missouri.

In north central arkansas a guy grows them in a greenhouse. I don't know anybody farther north who has done it.

Sorry, just got around to rechecking this thread.
Personally I love the cold weather, much more agreeable with me. I hated the Florida climate.
And yeah, everyone complains when winter hits...like now. It's like everyone's go-to small talk conversation. I went out walking today, 16° with a wind chill of 3°, I love it.

I went to high school in gulf breeze.
