Mystic Island Originals

I've had a chance to work through my latest order and thought I'd drop in with a quick recommendation list for the stand out strains. All of these were purchased within the past week.

Red Vietnam: This really surprised me, because I have always heard about MI Green Vietnam, which I also picked up and liked, but the red for me was the winner of the two. Great for night time, especially if you like that drowsy, noddy feeling, which I LOVE. Again, can't speak for pain on these reds cause I dose for mood/anxiety reasons, but this is a bright green colored red and they usually treat me right. Loved this.

White Borneo: This is fast fast with a decent kick of euphoria and is perfect for early morning. I can already tell this is a good one for doing math in the morning, lol. Nice body warmth and also good legs considering it kicks in abnormally fast for me; 30 minutes it was in full gear, and normally that's 45 ish for me, and I always dose fasting. I cleaned a LOT that morning.

Green Bali: This rivals my number 1 bali strain right now which is the green bali from BB. This is similar with a very noticeable euphoria which makes it somewhat sedating, not tiring but will definitely take you down a notch. This made for a great afternoon and had decent legs, as well. Dosed at 1 30pm and was still feeling great after 5pm. Had I not just bought a couple hundred grams of BBs Green Bali I would have definitely gotten more of this.

White Malay: This is exactly like every other decent malay I've ever had, a nice even keel of relaxation. Not blissfully euphoric but very effective at killing anxiety without being overly stimulating or sedating, so the white in the name is a good fit. Green malays put me to sleep normally.

I wish they would restock! I've tried probably 2 dozen strains from them over the past few months (thanks to the $3 samples) and I had more hits than misses. I loved their Red Vietnam, White Bali, Green Malay, Yellow Thai, and Green Vietnam from the "Originals" family. The Green Papua is pretty good too - kinda like Green Vietnam with a little more energy. Their White Bali rivals RVA White Bali from last winter (which is some of my all-time favorite leaf from any vendor) Haven't tried the Green Bali but it sounds good - I've got the BB Green Bali and I like it. I like several of the Gems, Customer Blends and Creatures as well. Lots of people love the Vampire - and I do like it, but the Big Red One is the Red winner for me. Hopefully they get some fresh stock soon. I'm itching for another mystic order!

I wish I'd known this last week. I'm about to burn some Mystic Island Green Vietnam in about a half an hour that I just got in.

I really like Mystic Island leaf. I've had one or two strains that didn't do much for me, but out of the twenty or more I've tried that's a -very- high hit rate. I've had more "meh" strains from other vendors than I've had from MI, but sometimes that's just the luck of the draw.

If I burn it in the morning then I'm struggling to keep my eyes open by lunch. The Papua doesn't have quite as much euphoria as the GV, but the mood boost is on par and the energy is better.

Thank you for the heads up jabro70. I have a sample of the RED Papua landing today. I started to get the Green, but have so many greens in the stash already. Maybe I should have? Got the RED with my main order of their White MD everyone was raving about. (fingers crossed on that one). Also got some Unicorn, Phatcracker and white Horn to try as well. Been a while since I sampled MI stock.

I got a 75 of the red Papua and a sample of the green Papua. I wish it had been the other way around. The red wasn’t bad - i just thought the green was much better. I saw tonight that they restocked some yellows- if you like yellows, i will say that both the yellow Thai and the yellow Hulu from their last batch were very good. I got 250 of the Thai but both were gone when i went to stock up on the Hulu.

I have had great success with Mystic Island as well...I just got around to trying their Vampire which I got a couple weeks ago (per recommendation on this site). Not a full review but let me provide some highlights

• Delivery was SUPER FAST, if I"m not mistaken 2 days (most 3 days)
  Color was a nice rich green (but to be clear the site says it's a red)
  It was slow to hit me but when it did it lasted a good duration (3 hours or more)
  Very Euphoric but not much pain relief
  As most know I'm a cap person so can't comment on taste / smell only to say it smelled about the same while capping it

I would say it's right near the top for me from Mystic Island. Honestly lose track of the strains I've gotten from them but if memory serves it was one of the best. I would recommend and will buy again (bought 1/2 Kilo this last time so may be awhile as I have other strains I'm working through as well).

I was wondering if anyone got some of the Bentuangie that Mystic had in September? It was another strain that I thought about getting but it always seemed to get bumped to the "next time" order. It just seems that a Bent runs contrary to every other strain on the site - all the others are that bright green indoor-dried leaf. Just wondering if the Bent was any good?

I have the White Horn in line for tomorrow (Saturday) morning...If my fancy doesn't change tween now and then...White Horn has always been my FAVORITE white, so MI's version has a lot of competition to overcome...really hoping, this time of year, it will be a noteworthy competitor...we shall see.

I have been sampling more unfamiliar offerings first...I quite enjoyed the Red Papua, and am considering getting a bit more, but need to run it up the flagpole another time or two first...petty mid-spec but nicely relaxing with decent pain relief...gave me that "I'm just not gonna stress about anything" mood I like from a good red...Not a huge stand-out, but a solid Red.
