This took me back to raving in the 90s. Loads of ecstasy and bowl after bowl. Also, many after hours would play this stuff along with some chill out.

Nice memories, thank you for that.

Anyone remember Happy Hardcore? My Asian friends from LA used to party all night to those tunes.

Yep haha love the 90's electronic/rave tunes. Never really cared much for happy hardcore but 91-93 hardcore was amazing never heard anything like it. There's still some old school hardcore stuff being produced today but it's hard to find.

I love so many artists and bans, but I think Sympathy by Sleater Kinney is a contender, and in constant current rotation, Lana Del Rey's song, Fuck It I Love You / the Greatest. The melancholy meets me where I am right now.

Bebe - Cocaine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYt0Nwt_oNI

Lyrics:
How to say that it breaks in a thousand
my bone's corners?
that all my life's sketches have fallen
now that everything was perfect?
And something more than that,
you sucked my brain and the weight falls over me
of this little body of mine, that has become a river.
Of this little body of mine, that has become a river.

I struggle to open my eyes
and I do it little by little
in case I find you near
I keep your memory
like the best secret
how sweet it was to have you inside.
There's a piece of light in this darkness
to lend me peace.
Time calms everything:
the tempesty and the calmness.
Time calms everything:
the tempesty and the calmness.

Chorus:
I'll always keep
the sea's soft voice,
to keep breathing,
the rain that will fall over this body and it will water
the flower that grows in me
and I'll laugh again
and everyday, for an instant, I'll think of you again
and in the sea's soft voice
I'll breathe again
the rain that will fall over this body and it will water
the flower that grows in me
and I'll laugh again
and everyday, for an instant, I'll think of you again.

How to say that it breaks in a thousand
my bone's corners?
that all my life's sketches have fallen
now that everything was perfect?
And something more than that,
you sucked my brain and the weight falls over me
of this body of mine that has become a river.
Of this body of mine that has become a river.

Chorus:
I'll always keep
the sea's soft voice,
to keep breathing,
the rain that will fall over this body and it will water
the flower that grows in me
and I'll laugh again
and everyday, for an instant, I'll think of you again
and in the sea's soft voice
I'll breathe again
the rain that will fall over this body and it will water
the flower that grows in me
and I'll laugh again
and everyday, for an instant, I'll think of you again.

Damn, your choice of music totally mirrors mine! I wore out the albums Close To The Edge
and Fragile...literally! Myself and a couple of friends would get together every Friday evening
(and most Saturday evenings,) party, listen to music, check out the album covers and have
philosophical rap sessions about music, life...existential shit and the like late into the night!
God, how I miss that! :( There was a definite magic in a lot of the music that came out in the
late sixties and through most of the 70's!

How about:

And You And I

Close To The Edge (rather long for some, but most excellent!)

I've seen them three times and all three concerts were spectacular! It's so sad that their bassist, Chris Squire passed
away in 2015.....definitely an integral part of the band!

Led Zepplin - D'yer Maker, Sheryl Crow covers this excellently, and the original still rocks after all these years.

Miley Cyrus covering the Cranberries' Zombie - her voice changed after vocal chord surgery and she slays with this song.

I've never been much of a Miley Cyrus fan, but at the start of lockdowns she sang Wish You Were Here (one of my top 5 favorite songs) on SNL and it was so hauntingly beautiful. I became a semi-fan that night. Lol. Still don't like country music ...

Really great band. I got to see them in 2013, and they were still great live. Muse and Queen are the other two bands that I think of when I think of bands who are better live than in the studio.

I used to say that my favorite song was One by Metallica (which was the song that actually inspired Tenacious D's Tribute even though the song doesn't sound like it). It held that spot long after I stopped being so into Metallica (after Reload, I was disinterested in whatever else they made).

These days, I'm sure I'd probably tell you it's a Muse song. Gun to my head though, it's actually Radar Love by Golden Earring. Best driving song ever!

Glad to hear they were still good. I don't think Mark Farmer was still with them?

I fear I have too many favorite songs to really list, haha.

But Tool's been discussed but I have a special place in my heart for Wings For Marie, parts one and two (10,000 days) together. It's impossible for me to listen to just one or the other, and I always have to stop what I'm doing to actively listen because they're so powerful that they demand your full attention. Absolutely incredible songs.

I love this song - the music and the lyrics both. It's so depressing and surreal. Mark Kozelek's music is an acquired taste I think, but I've really been digging his songs lately.

Life is a boat, wishing well, benzo cocktails, trust issues, drip to hard, walls closing in, tears in heaven, I am human, she talks to angels, what a wonderful world, mad world. Probably gonna have to edit this cause I still got many more to add but these are a few. Alright here’s some more a boy named sue, weatherman, behind blue eyes, and Californiaworld. I’m gonna have to edit this to add the artist name later but it can wait.

Oh Man! This made me start thinking about when I was younger, and song lyrics that I got toootally wrong.

I used to think they were saying “Red Hot Love”.

Or the Steve Wynwood song ‘Higher’, I thought they were saying “Bring Me a Party of Gold”.

🤦🏼‍♀️

Then, thinking back made me think of my very first favorite song. My sister and I used to sit by the radio for hours hoping for it to play:
