Pirate Botanicals????

Happy Friday!

I was browsing around on Google a few weeks ago and came across Pirate Botanicals. They offer this "Chill Pill" that is apparently really amazing, it better be for $60.00 a pop! I was wondering if any one has tried them or has any reviews on them, also healthy? They have a few other lines like the "focus pill" and such. All I need in my life is burning candles and I am great! However, my wife is not a fan of candles and was looking for another alternative. We do not like bud and we do not drink. I originally read this as “$60 for one pill”
But upon going to their site, found it is actually $60 for a bottle of 30 pills. Which still seems incredibly expensive.

After reading the components of the Chill Pill, I feel you could just buy all of them OTC separately for a much better price. I got a bottle of 100 count, 100mg L-Theanine from Walmart for like 6 bucks.

5-HTP, Valerian Root, and Passion Flower extract are also pretty easy to come by. You might just have to do a search and some price-comparing.

I guess for the convenience of having it already dosed/measured out for you and capped, $60 might be worth it. But I also feel Pirate Botanicals is not thee only place that would sell that particular mixture. A bit more searching might turn up a cheaper place as well.

Opps, my bad, I see how you would think I meant $60.00 a pill! Still none the less, I agree with you, even for 30, at 2 bucks a pop, its pricey. I really appreciate the well thought out response. 98% of the people on this site are so awesome!!! I am sure the other 2% will chime in at some point and shame me for some reason or another.

You don't want to mix 5-HTP with an MAOI like those found in Passion Flower. That's how you end up with serotonin syndrome. I doubt the dose is high enough to cause it, considering these 'stack' type pills are usually kinda gimmicky and have low doses of everything to create a more impressive/longer ingredient list. BUT everyone is different and you may be sensitive. Be especially aware of this if you're taking any kind of medication.


If you're looking for something like a 'chill pill' I'd skip the 5-HTP and look at the L-Theanine, Passion Flower, and Valerian root individually. Kava and CBD are pretty cool too.
