Favs so far: Diesel Unholy Cocktail or Hair of the Dog, Punch Signature, Comacho Corojo, Oliva Serie O Perfecto, RP Sun Grown Toro (I was surprised how much I liked it), for reference.

Re: Cigars
Arturo Fuente, my favorite. I also really enjoy backwoods.

Re: Cigars
Can they really be called a cigar? More a cigarillo isn't it? I have mostly used them to gut out and replace with other choice botanicals. Never had a 'real' cigar.

String: If you ever have an urge I would suggest not cheaping out too much for your first one. It's easier to a appreciate a cheap cigar if you know what a good one is like. Ashton robustos are a good mid range Connecticut. Good starter.

Re: Cigars
Those look like a 'real' cigar. What should I look for in the experience of smoking a cigar?
I'm reminded of the first time I got into whiskey and didn't really have a sense for what made a good one or not. Took a while to develop the taste. I don't really like to smoke anything, and I have smoked a lot of things. So I'm curious if cigars can change my opinion of that. I do like the flavors of like perique tobacco and such, but not enough to go out of my way to smoke it. Are cigars more flavorful than cigarettes?

Way more. It's the difference between beer and wine. They're two different things.
Edit: Cigars and whisky are PB&J.

Re: Cigars
I personally prefer cubans my favorite being Ramone Allones Specially Selected, San Cristobal El Principe, Partagas Serie D no 4 , and hoyo de monterrey epicure no 2, h uppman half coronas as well as custom rolls from the commodore hotel in cuba that the celebrity rollers make. As far as non cubans go-- Padron 1926, Ep Carillo, Arturo Fuente, anything from my father factory (especially La Nox toro and El gueguense lancero), Crowned Heads, Roma Craft, Joya Black, Illusione. not a big fan of drew estate although a lot of people love their cigars.

Re: Cigars
Like someone mentioned anything arturo fuente is a safe bet. I love the Hemmingway short story. For a brand that's tasty and doesn't break the bank, I'd say check out La Aurora, made in the Dominican Republic. Really tastey, really old school cigar brand, know their shit, and won't make or roll a bad cigar. Excellent Maduro's, CT's and Corojo's there, also check out the Cameroon they make, they have access to some of the best quality Cameroon wrappers and I've heard the boss of La Aurora say it's actually the most expensive wrapper to buy. Every Cameroon I've had from La Aurora has been a banger.
What else... there's Ernesto-Perez Carrillo, huge fan of everything that man oversees. Particularly the La Historia Dona Elena. A must try if you're a maduro fan, just utterly rich cocoa. Another budget cigar that smokes like premium I had recently is AJ Fernandez New World-- that one's a flavor bomb. If you want something more premium though, there's always brands like Diamond Crown(Julius Caesar), Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust(Sobremesa Brulee), and Illusione, can't go wrong there with cigars like Epernay.
