Issues with switching vendors/strains?
I recently tried a vendor I haven't used before. They are on the vendor list. In the past few days since I've started taking it, I've noticed some bad effects along with good...mainly elevated anxiety and insomnia. I got several different strains, all have the similar unwanted effects. The first night I took my regular amount, then redosed several times thinking it was weak leaf, but my anxiety peaked into an attack, which lasted a half hour. After that subsided I felt good effects again. This happened again later, a period of high anxiety culminating in euphoric effects. I'm not having withdrawals in between.
I've done some googling and asking around, but there's no real consensus. I don't want to write it off as a waste quite yet. Either it's bunk, or I need to adjust to the differences in alkaloids, or I'm taking too much, or something. Any one have a similar experience?

Interesting. Possibly even though they are supposedly all different strains, maybe they're coming from the same Indo supplier and it's grown and harvested in a different area than what you're used to, and so they have a different alkaloid profile.

Re: Issues with switching vendors/strains?
Great answer, HH. That's what I'm thinking too, not least because multiple strains from the same vendor having the same specific effect points to the supplier (and farmers/region) more than anything else.
I've had a similar experience but only with a single strain, not multiples from the same vendor, so I can't help you there, Beat.
But you seem to have all of two choices here, both of which come down to preference and cash: hold 'em for a while and see if anything changes, or trade 'em off for strains that you know you do well with. IOW, the question I'd be asking myself is whether I'd mind keeping some cash tied up in it for a few months, or do I need my kratom more right now. Totally a matter of personal preference.
But if you do decide to trade, this might be good news. I can't help the nagging suspicion I'm having that the alkaloid profile in these strains that is triggering your anxiety so badly is actually going to be a feature highly prized by someone who likes faster strains. What's making you temporarily off-kilter may well be someone else's "fire". I don't know what you prefer by way of colors/speed in general, but I suspect someone else would enjoy those strains very much for the exact reason they're putting you off. Kratom is so weird that way.

Re: Issues with switching vendors/strains?
Thanks for the replies. I think right now I'm going to hang on to it, I know it's not totally bunk since I still get some positive effects. I have some old stuff that I'll start mixing in to see if I eventually become more receptive to it. I havent read about anyone else having trouble with this vendor, and not much info about the problem in general.
Although, trading sounds like a possibility. Is there anything specific to swapping kratom that one should know, or do you just come to an agreement, exchange addresses and each person pays for their own shipping? I'm a first timer in that regard.

Anything I don't particularly care for goes in an emergency bin. End of the world stash. Some kratom is better than no kratom.
To use swapsell, you post what you have to swap or sell, the amount and what you want for it, shipping included. Someone comes along and says they want it. You go to PM to figure out the logistics. They pay you and then you ship them their kratom. If you have no swapsell history/flair, usually you ship first before payment, and once they get their kratom they will pay you and then make sure you get your first flair.

I was checking around the mewe kratom swap...saw some people trading for the same strains/batch numbers I currently have and saying its fire. Must just be me, but at least I know it's not bullshit and I can trade with clean conscience

Re: Issues with switching vendors/strains?
Yeah, I had a feeling that might be the case...
But look, anytime you want to trade a strain that does nothing for you, just be honest about it when you do it. Tell prospective traders exactly why you want to trade and what it does or does not do for you so that they're informed.
Nothing at all to sully your conscience with, one man's end of the world stash is -literally- another man's fire.

Oh, certainly. Last thing I want to do is pass off bad leaf to someone else, or trade it under false pretenses.
