Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
So I was one of the fortunate people to be able to test some of Texas Family Harvest’s strains. Due to a little confusion on my end with the mailing address, I am a bit late here, but I have now received my package and will begin review the strains as I try them.
I will update this post as I try each one.
Strain #1:
Red Jungle MD - AS23
Dosage: ~4g, maybe a tad more
A very strong sedating red. Strong pain relief and anxiolysis. Euphoria was present early in the burn - I felt a sudden urge to call someone and chit chat once I felt it kick in - yet the sedation ultimately prevailed over the euphoria as time passed. Within an hour I was feeling quite tired... I really wanted to go to bed. I certainly underestimated the potency of this strain, having taken it in the morning. Fortunately it was a Saturday.
This sedation eased itself into a very peaceful, relaxed state which persisted well into the afternoon.
For the purpose a red classically serves - sedation and pain relief - I rate this at a 8/10. Very potent, great sedation, strong anxiolysis. One of the few kratom strains I would actually recommend against taking before driving. I found myself nodding, which is something I’ve never experienced from kratom - literally ever in my four years of daily use.
Now as far as my own personal preference, I’ve never been a fan of sedating reds. To me, sedating kratom sorta defeats the best part of taking kratom (the mood boost!). But that’s just my own preference. If you’re looking for a sedating red, this is totally up your alley.
**update**
So I just experimented with a low, 2.2g dose of this strain. Its effect profile was drastically different. I am currently experiencing some fantastic euphoria and mood boost - it almost feels like a mid-fast red. Just goes to show, you really need to try a strain multiple times to get a good idea of how it works. Because different dose sizes, at different times of day, can really change it’s effects.
After trying a lower dose, I now rate this strain at a 9.5/10. I would consider it to be my second favorite, behind only the 30 year wild TFH. At 4.5g, it was definitely very sedating.
Strain #2:
“Yellow Aceh - KG24”
Dosage: 3.3g
A very solid, classic “kratom burn”. Just all the good things you’d expect from kratom, crammed into one strain. Great pain relief without that background sedation creeping up on you.
It’s hard to pinpoint any strengths or weakness because it’s good everywhere. The pain relief and anxiety relief are excellent, but it also gives a good motivation boost. It’s really one of the more multi-functional strains I’ve tried in a long time.
Being said, as the burn progressed, it certainly seemed to become more on the sedating side. I would recommend this strain for early evening use - a solid moost boost, but long lasting and relaxing. Overall, this is a high quality strain with good pain relief and long lasting effects.
Going by the classic 10 point system, I would rate this at a 8/10.
Strain #3:
Wild Red Sumpur - M5
Dosage: above level teaspoon (probably around 3.5g)
Okay this one was really good. Preferred it strongly over the other red, which I found to be a bit slow and sedating for my taste. This one was very anxiolytic, but not in a sedating way, if you know what I mean. There was a pleasant warm fuzzy feeling, and strong mood boost. Very potent and I would say that it could be used during the day. This is what a red is supposed to be.
9/10
Strain #4:
Wild White Vietnam - A13
Dosage: 3g
[updated after trying a second time, this time a 5g dose first thing in the morning]
A true, potent white. Everything you want out of a white - motivation, energy, talkativeness, mood boost. This is one of the best whites I have ever had. Literally, there is nothing bad about this strain. Super potent and motivating, and even the pain relief and anxiolysis are there (which is rare for motivating whites).
Even as you increase the dosage, the positive effects only seem to increase as well. 5g is a very high dose for me - I almost always take doses in the 3.3g area. But, being that I’m supposed to be testing these strains, I figured I’d do some experimentation. And wow, increasing the dose brought none of the classic negative effects. I truly feel wonderful.
Overall rating 9/10
(Sheesh, I feel like these are all rating too highly?! But these are honest ratings. I swear. These are all just that good).
Strain #5:
30 Year Wild Green IR-3
Dose: 2.7g, plus 1.5g redose an hour later
A mid-slow green with great pain relief. I would say the best characteristics of this burn was the pain relief and anxiolysis. Physically a very comforting strain - I was able to sit back after a long day and melt into my chair. All tension and pain gone. This made the strain somewhat sedating - but not in a forceful way.
Now, the mood boost, motivation, talkativeness, etc. were not as strong with this strain. They were there - but not on the same level as the other strains I have tested. For this reason, I rate it a bit lower than the others. Nonetheless, if this strain showed up in a split kilo from most of my usual vendors, it would stand out as exceptional.
Sidenote: Just like all the other strains I’ve experimented with, increasing the dose with did not cause negative side effects.
Sidenote #2: Somewhat bitter taste
Rating: 7.5/10
Strain #6:
30 Year Wild TFH - IR14
3.7g (plus 2g redose an hour later because it was so good)
So, I went a little crazy with this one. Again, I’m pushing my doses a bit, for the sake of experimentation. I believe a sign of a good strain, is that you can increase your dose from your usual amount, without suffering negative side effects. And that’s exactly how this Wild TFH works. Even as I approached a total of 6g which is a huge dose for me, I never got any wobbles or headsches.
The initial 3g effected me as follows. A strong mood boost hit me about 20 minutes after dosing. Almost caught me off guard... I was getting ready to sit back and watch some UFC fights, but I ended up with more euphoria than I knew what to do with. I had to take a walk and call someone. Such a clear-headed feeling. I was relaxed and pain free - anxiolysis and pain relief both get 10/10s - but I was also so motivated. The sheer euphoria was stimulating in and of itself.
The effects were so pure, and so clean, I felt compelled to try more. I took another 2g, and no negative side effects occured, the burn simply became a bit more on the relaxing, slow side.
Very multifunctional strain. The lower dose had me super happy and giddy, and the higher dose had me ready for bed. Can’t imagine a situation in life that this wouldn’t go well with.
Overall rating 10/10
Strain #7:
Chocolate Bentuangie A-2
(Putting this one off because I don’t like bents lol. I’ll try it later today)
Update 2/6/20 (like 2 months later lol)
I did eventually try the chocolate bent, but forgot to review it at the time. But what I can say is this: Bentuangie kratom has never done anything for me. I don’t entirely understand what it’s purpose is, or how it’s effects are intended to differ from normal kratom. I do know that it’s effects ARE supposed to be different, and that it’s due to something in the drying process.
But whatever the case, they’ve never done anything for me, and this one was no different. Perhaps someone who appreciates Bentuangie strains would be able to recognize how TFH’s selection differs from other selections (and I’m sure it does). But whatever the case may be, I’m not a Bentuangie guy, so I won’t review this one.
Overall thoughts so far:
So, what can I say? The hype is real. These strains are all superior. The customer service is fantastic, and you just get a very good vibe from them. “For connoisseurs by Connoisseurs”, gotta love it.
You truly feel that the #1 concern of TFH is the quality of their product. I mean literally... they are actively refusing customers to ensure that they have enough quality kratom for their members. Who does that? And it’s clearly paying off... you don’t do a free sample test like this unless you know you have fire kratom. Look at what every tester has said so far... we’re blown away.
A couple of these strains are among the best I’ve ever tried. The wild TFH, and the white vietnam were both amazing, and all the others were well above average as well.
I will update this post as I try each one.

Re: Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
I’m at the end of sampling mine which I got in last week. Overall every single one was amazing. The lowest rating I put was a 7 I believe. But that was just my preference on a red. Although it was a good red. All the greens were a+. Especially pure jong Kong, wild premium kali, and super green bali. All strains you got are different than mine! Makes me hope I get to test more ASAP! Or better yet someday I hope to become a member. His leaf is well above average and he’s a great guy that does some incredible research for us. Enjoy you’re testing samples

I’m in the same boat. I’m not a huge fan of sedating reds, which is what his red MD was. Being said, I still rated it based upon what it’s supposed to be - not on what my own personal preferences on it are (though I did make a sidenote on my thoughts).KBull wrote: The lowest rating I put was a 7 I believe. Re: Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
I agree with that. And the other two reds I tested were rated 9’s. Although I wouldn’t burn them myself too often, I know people that love reds would go crazy for them. The 7 I gave was just a little below the others I tested. I found it hard to rate Gumby because it’s all above average haha. I’m sure some tester strains may not be amazing, that’s why they are in the testing stage. But I found them all amazing. Whatever he is doin, he is doin it right. The Relaxed Guy wrote:I’m in the same boat. I’m not a huge fan of sedating reds, which is what his red MD was. The weird thing is I didn't like the slow reds I tested I think they were bents but slow reds have like no effect on me it doesn't matter the vendor however mid or fast reds are awesome. Like red sumpur was fantastic but I had red TFH as Nd could not feel anything

Yeah I just tried if and wow! Very nice. No clue what it is (red, green, white, mix) but it’s fantastic. It’s definitely on the faster side, not sedating at all - yet it’s anxiolytic too. Just a super multi-faceted strain. 10/10KBull wrote:I’m jealous you got the 30 year wild tfh. Every tester has loved that one. Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah I agree on the slow reds. Never got much of an effect... and in the event that I do get an effect (like the red MD from TFH), it’s not an effect I really like.FartBlaster wrote:The weird thing is I didn't like the slow reds I tested I think they were bents but slow reds have like no effect on me it doesn't matter the vendor however mid or fast reds are awesome. Meanwhile fast reds are awesome. Some of the best strains I’ve ever tried have been fast reds.

Just checked your updated reviews “relaxed guy”. Awesome job with that. Great detail, I gotta take your review detail into consideration next time I do it! Also it seems like we agree with and enjoy the same kind of leaf. Curious what are a couple standouts you’ve found lately that you enjoy? (Aside from tfh since we aren’t lucky enough to be members.... yett. I hope)

Re: Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
One of the major updates was on the Red MD. I initially rated it as a slow, overly sedating red (which you and I agree, aren’t our favorite type of strain). I just dosed again, but at a lower dose, and it was a much different experience. The mood boost and euphoria were far less obstructed by the background drowsiness. Certainly more of the type of red I like.KBull wrote:Just checked your updated reviews “relaxed guy”. Awesome job with that. It's sort of energetic, but calming at same time, ,my mouth is numb, lol,,it just feels very potent, ,mentally stimulating, ,it kicked in about 20 minutes after dosing, ,,it's been about a hour in,,this is just amazing leaf,,so noticeable, omg!

Re: Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
I hope I can log into the link for the survey, ,I tested 4 and logged in my scores,x but the last 2, which were wild green hulu and green maeng da am2,, I am going to try again ,I've had problems for about 5 days logging in here, and the link,,so just in case I wanted to say that these 2 strains were also top notch, ,the maeng da was more energetic than the hulu,,but hulu had a better moodlift. Out of the 6 I tested the 30 yr wilds were my favorite, ,the choc. Bent was definitely a nodder,,,Anyhow TFH has some great product, ,actually better than a lot of vendors I've tried. And a couple of the wilds I tested were probably top 10 I have had all year. !BTW, I was finally able to access the survey link, ,so it's all good, ,I'm definitely up for testing reds! I think the wild harvest indo MUK 1 is only one I got that felt like a red,,it was good, ,helped pain, ,which is a good thing!

I got to access the survey, yeehaw! Anyhow results were recorded, ,I wasn't sure if I should review 1 strain more than once,,but I did,,the 2nd time trying the wild ir14 it wasn't so fast, ,very nice mid spec on 2nd try. TFH is definitely quality kratom and the behind the scenes of the kratom process is an excellent informative look at the process involved with this miracle leaf. Looking forward to testing again or like I said above, purchasing when it is available for that option. Thanks TFH!

I’m a little sleepy eyed at the moment, and for some reason I can’t seem to find a website for TFH after several searches. Can someone shoot the link to me? Thank you.

They don't have one. They are a private member vendor only currently.... the reviews are based off of being a tester at one point or another and or from purchases made during one of their special event openings to doubleM members during the holidays. Best bet is to contact tfh aka gumby and ask to become a tester so that down the road you know what you wanna order during openings and or if the ever allow doubleM members access to their membership.Vipercuda69 wrote:I’m a little sleepy eyed at the moment, and for some reason I can’t seem to find a website for TFH after several searches. Don’t feel bad. I haven’t heard back for weeks. I’m very interested in trying TFH. Maybe we just have to wait our turn. Fingers crossed!Tree wrote:I already submitted a form several days ago but did not hear back

The 30 year wild yellow - TFH IR35 is absolute fire!
The euphoria hit me like a train
I can't wait for purchases to open up, that strain is going to be a hit for sure.

I sampled Jade Bali - AIR22 yesterday and it was fantastic. It was a happy and energetic day with zero aches and pain.
Next up is the Wild Green Sumpur - M5KIN

Re: Texas Family Harvest reviews (the relaxed guy)
The Jade Bali sure was a winner. It fired on all cylinders for me. Awesome in every way. Although, I just tried 3 grams of the Wild Green Sumpur and it seems rather average for me after 45 minutes. Definitely some great focus and concentration. The pain relief is quite good too. But I’m not getting much in the way of energy and only a slight mood lift. Maybe I need to give it a little more time. It’s only been 45 minutes. It’s possible the onset is slow for me. If I hit 90 minutes with no change, I’ll try another 2 grams. The Sapphire Sunda has a great color, smell and taste, but I’m saving that for tomorrow. At first glance it just looks like it’s going to be incredible. I’m assuming by the name that it’s a Red. The others are a Red Muna and Classic Red MD. Lastly a Wild Green Hulu that’s making me drool a little.Somethingsacred wrote:The wild green Sumpur is amazing !

We must have similar body chemistry. The Jade Bali was excellent for me but the Wild Green Sumpur just didn't hit. It felt strong but wasn't pleasant. Was definitely feeling it but seemed like it never went anywhere other than letting me know it was there. I did the same as you, took another half dose about 90 minutes in but with no improvement. Jade Bali, however, was everything I want and expect.Vipercuda69 wrote:

Curious, what size dose of the JADE BALI did you take?...TFH is very finicky for me...smaller doses seem to work best (sometimes), but sacrifice length of burn (and some pain relief). Trying to find that "best" size dose...a work in progress for sure.Vipercuda69 wrote:I sampled Jade Bali - AIR22 yesterday and it was fantastic. Sounds the same as me. The Saphire Sunda was only so so for me too. I’m going to try the Classic Red Maeng Da in a couple hours. The kratom sure looks and tastes fresh. I’ll post an update once I see how it works out.psychonaut wrote:We must have similar body chemistry. The Jade Bali was excellent for me but the Wild Green Sumpur just didn't hit. I usually try to stay around 3-4 grams.labdog03 wrote:Curious, what size dose of the JADE BALI did you take?...TFH is very finicky for me...smaller doses seem to work best (sometimes), but sacrifice length of burn (and some pain relief). I tested the Wild Green Sumpur and agree. Very 'clean' smooth and potent.Somethingsacred wrote:The wild green Sumpur is amazing !

Wild Green Hulu Kapuas - IR25.
I have a lot to say about this one. This kratom was extremely fresh and potent for me. There is a good level of bitterness. The smell of this Kratom is great, like it was just freshly ground. The color is a beautiful green bordering on bright green.
The duration of effects was extraordinary as was the level of pain relief and energy level. Very clean and consistent energy. The mood lift for this one was also fantastic. Far above average. A very clear headed happy feeling. Focus and concentration was great too without even one bit of brain fog.
The Wild Green Hulu Kapuas - IR25 is a hit with me. It was firing on all cylinders and it’s everything I would expect from a top shelf kratom. I sure hope this one makes the official TFH strain list. I would definitely make it a part of my strain rotation. Well done TFH. Very well done indeed.

I was so excited to try that Sapphire Sunda, but alas, it was the same for me - didn’t work for my chemistry. Now the Wild Harvest Red Bali - that’s a different story! Kilo-worthy for sure!Vipercuda69 wrote:

What would you say were the effects of the Wild Harvest Red Bali are in your opinion? I have a sample of it to test and was curious if it was a sedating red or not? I also have a sample test of Sapphire Sunda to try. Wondering if the Sapphire is sedating or not as well.jabro70 wrote:I was so excited to try that Sapphire Sunda, but alas, it was the same for me - didn’t work for my chemistry. I tested both of the new green Sumpur's (Super wild and Wild) and both are extremely good mid-spec greens. Excellent pain relief and long legs with clean energy. They both felt so similar to me so don't know how they differ. But both worked really well for me.
I also tested the 30 year wild yellow - TFH IR35 three different times now (sample is now all gone). It was weird, the first two times I really didn't get much out of it. I had read the great reviews over the past few days but first 2 test doses were just so-so, good but nothing that was standout. Then today I upped my dose (thanks to whoever mentioned upping dose for TFH strains if you hadn't had success). I normally take 2gram doses. Today I did three grams first thing in the morning and had a Fantastic Burn! Felt great all morning.

The Wild Harvest Red Bali is probably my 2nd favorite Red I have ever tried from them. Only the September test batch of Red Hangat Suma was better for me - and that particular one wasn’t on the menu for the Thanksgiving sale - so all I had was the sample.MikeEdoessomething wrote:

I love the Wild Harvest Indo, Wild Red Hulu, Wild Red TFH, and Wild Red Sumpur, - BUT - this Bali is on a different level than even those gems. STRONG pain relief and muscle relaxation, and not too heavy to enjoy. Really good euphoria and mood boost. Works perfectly with my chemistry. I’ll be all over this one during the next DoubleM sale.
I tested the 30 year Wild Yellow TFH IR35 as well, and for me it’s pretty good, but I like the Wild Yellow TFH I got back in November much better.
To me the Sapphire Sunda wasn’t really sedating or energetic- I think I rated it either a 5 or 6 on the energy scale (5 being completely neutral). It had some effects for me, just not really in tune with my chemistry.
