I've been looking for a strongly sedating strain to add to my bedtime mix.

Does anyone know which batch of Red Sunda is the good one? There are 2 different batch numbers on the site. Thanks.

Mine was the 8/19 one that was really good. But the new one could also be good, or even better.Leesaw73 wrote:Does anyone know which batch of Red Sunda is the good one? There are 2 different batch numbers on the site. Thanks.

Honestly I'm a big SOSA fan they have been my go to for most of 2019.... One thing Is for damn sure that the Red Sunda has always been consistent along with a handful of others, hence why they are a good go-to imo!! I have always thought that strain was slept on and now all the sudden everyone is in go it, glad I wasn't just trippin and I was actually the only one hahaha

I'll second what Ace said, I've only used the red Sunda a few times and I took it at work one day, a couple of hours into it I thought to myself "Why'd the hell I take that one for" it's not a good choice for physical labor, I did feel great when I sat down for break though!!

Re: Sosa Red Sunda
This is incredibly informative and eye opening! I’m trying desperately to increase my kratom efficacy, decrease my tolerance in hopes of cutting my dose from 6-8g+ at 3-4 times a day down to 1-2g 2-3 times a day and it’s been extremely difficult. I can’t take a total break cuz I need the pain relief for working 10 hours a day and my depression gets out of hand if I don’t dose daily. I’m definitely going to try altering my diet and I’m really hoping I get similar results in regards to dosing with food cuz your girl gets mad hangry every day cuz I’d rather go without eating and be able to enjoy my dose.WickedMadScientist wrote:
Cthulhu hey what's going on brudda. I suspect that it has to do with nerutransmitter levels, gut bacteria/PH, and overall how active one is.
If somone takes a Red that is known for body relaxation, it is more likely full of goodness that increases Serotonin more so then dopamine. When your serotonin is higher then your dopamine, you won't be energetic but rather relaxed and possibly confortable just where you are at. If one takes a White known for energy, it's more likely dopamine heavy. When one raises Dopamine higher then serotonin, anxiety and nervousness comes into play. This is why Green is well tolerated with most kratomers, it has a more leveled profile of dopamine/serotonin boosting properties. You can combat these problems though. Mixing red with a known fast strain is one of them. I personally beleive you get way more out of kratom after a good sweaty 20-30 minute workout, you have to sweat though. This raises your PH and primes your dose by increasing blood flow, this in it's nature releases endorphins/ serotonin/dopamine/norepinephrine. Raised PH and improved blood flow mixed with healthy gut bacteria from a clean diet increases the bodys ability to process and utilize these fantastic alkaloids ^_^ and lessens your chance of feeling too wired or too sedated.
Mindset, current mood/outlook on life, and environment/social connections play into effect with neurotransmitter levels.
Something that I found out from my own research and testing that is of great importance as well: Amino Acids (Protein) & FIBER. I'm not talking about that bs Metamucil, I mean real fiber from foods. I used to be one that thought I couldn't feel affects from Kratom if I dosed it with food but i was wrong. It seems much more stable for me and now I don't avoid eating just to feel the effects, which ended up making me hangry often. Avocado's, Bananas, raspberries, blackberries, pears, blueberries, apples, brown rice, peas, pecans, pistachios, almonds, broccoli, black beans, lima beans, CHIA SEEDS (amazing added effect & high fiber with no taste), flax seeds, coconut and did I say DARK CHOCOLATE! (real dark chocolate) are to name some of the fiber rich foods. You want to aim for 20-30g fiber a day and as long as you don't over eat, you will still greatly feel the effects if you dose with food. Over eating consist of eating more protein/fat/carbs in one sitting than your body needs or can process at that time. The more active you are, the higher metabolism and the easier it is to process a bigger meal. I eat a big bowl of mixed fruit with dark chocolate, chia seeds, almond butter, and coconut milk with my dose and it's fantastic, and o yeah lots of water!! Exercise combined with this way of eating restores your digestive enzymes so that the protein (amino acids) you consume gets utilized. It also will allow healthy beneficial gut bacteria to thrive and breakdown those alkaloids better to utilize. Everyone's needs are different so I suggest finding out what ratio works for you that is sustainable.
You can supplement Essential Amino Acids, I personally take the Body Health Perfect Amino brand. Or if you can get your hand on some good quality proteins, that will supply you with the amino acids your brain and body needs to function. Without the proper amino acid levels, you don't get much from kratom. I personally shoot for 60g daily being at 175 as i'm not trying to bulk up, just light working out.
Stay EZ boiiis & gals.

The Sosa Red Sunda from his latest restock is awesome as well. I have only tried it once but it had excellent pain relief, great content feels, and extremely warm and pleasing.

Getting some today and Baik Bali excited to try them I really liked the Red Malay got that was a nice one sometimes take a little bit longer but it was good to alternate with the Sunda. I'll probably come back and do a review with for the new batches. After I try them a few times.conscious_conundrum wrote:The Sosa Red Sunda from his latest restock is awesome as well. Definitely, I'd like to know how the new batch of Baik Bali compares to his last ones, I really like the red Malay, I'm probably sitting on 2 kilos of that one along with a few more, I know rainy season is here but last year SOSA maintained their quality throughout imo.

I need to try this! Love me some good, relaxing strains. I've been stuck on Reds because for a long time I thought they were the only sure thing for more slow effects, chill out and give me warm fuzzies.herbalhippie wrote:Got mine today and it's exactly what I was looking for, a strong, sedating red. I just had the best nap!
I'm going to mix it in with my bedtime blend. I might even get another quarter of it.
Recently, I've come around to the idea that some green strains can contain similar effects.
Any others you'd suggest to try for the slower, relaxing and warm effects?
