TFH Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
Solid Gold. Best gold i have tried. Very calming with a good amount of focus. I love mid to slpw spec strains and this one hit me in a sweet spot. Ive also tried the 24kt and that was great too but this one definetly takes the cake. Its feel is similar to the 24kt but with more euphoria. Highly recommend.

Did you happen to try 30 Year Wild Yellow - TFH IR35? That was the best yellow I've tried thus far. Great euphoria / motivation type of feeling. I'd highly recommend trying it when you get the chance.KratomAdvocateMO wrote:Solid Gold. Best gold i have tried. Very calming with a good amount of focus. I totally agree! This wild crafted gold is VERY smooth and relaxing with great FOCUS! This is great for the work day. I am not really a fan of golds, but this one changed my mind about them. Even some euphoria with it, which i never really had with golds I've tried. I would purchase it.KratomAdvocateMO wrote:Solid Gold. Best gold i have tried. Very calming with a good amount of focus. I had Mitra Mans gold borneo from a batch that everyone was raving about. It had great pain relief, but for me, no euphoria or anything else special about it. Maybe a little energy, but almost did not know it was even 'there'. I had other golds that i did not respond well at all. So grateful to have sampled this one...

I have found that gold Borneo takes a few times to hit properly. I enjoy the fast batch more than the most recent, but they are both good. 24k Bali is one I need to revisit.

I tried that one and was really very impressed. It felt like non-sedating red, very good for pain relief and extra-soothing. I hope this one makes it onto the TFH Menu.Slippy wrote:Did you happen to try 30 Year Wild Yellow - TFH IR35? That was the best yellow I've tried thus far. Interesting how different we all are. This one was very mild for me. No euphoria just a mild background buzz. Gold and yellows and bents seem to be hit or miss for me. The best I ever had was some yellow Borneo in the summer of 2017 from Canopy. That batch was epic and I keep hoping to find another one like it. Still on the hunt.KratomAdvocateMO wrote:Solid Gold. Re: TFH Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
Just want to point out something, sometimes you hit different spectrum of alkaloids and feel great, i think the reason for some the good talked about kratom is ok or so so is because you recently had similar alkaloid profile. I usually never do golds but when i tried first time gold from mitraman, it was god sent. Imagine if i did different golds all the time, i bet mitraman gold will be just ok to me and that what will be for my review. So if someone talks highly of something its always good to ask if its there first time trying gold? Also you can safley assume those who liked it, you will like it too if you take a good break but that is my assumptions. I also dont think its body chemistry i just think sometimes you hit different alkaloid progiles and sometimes you dont. But with a nice break all that becomes fire, i think thats why a lot when they revisit they fall in love with something they thought it was meh. any thoughts on this theory?

I think TFH just has all the best and creative strain names and that's why his kratom is so good. "Hulu Kapuas" was so yesterday, "Wild Transformational Indian Hare Krishna Pyrenees Look at me Damien, It's all for you Meditation Maeng Da RSM-99" is so tomorrow. You guys hiring? Will work for food (leaf form only) (love the potential Syd Barrett reference too)

Haha, I wish creative kratom names were all you needed to do to have great kratom! Everyone knows that there is no industry standard that is reliable in the slightest, but internally we do have some kind of meaning. For example, below are a few of the ones we commonly use (please note these are very loosely defined.... some may vary).
Wild = Wild trees that share the land with our main plantation. Mature wild trees on private land like this are rare - because many times trees like this would have been used for lumber prior to the kratom industry booming.
30 Year Wild = Very old wild trees that share the land with our main plantation (we estimate the youngest @ around 30 years)
Wild Harvest = Wild trees that are on the perimeter of OR in a different location than our main source.
Wild Crafted = Wild trees that are outside our main source and part of the processing is done on-site of the harvest location.
TFH = A technique that we consider our "signature" process because to our knowledge, nobody else is doing it.
Deep Jungle = harvested in a location off the beaten path or along the river.
24k, Emerald, Jade, Sapphire, etc... = a technique is applied that only benefits the final product in a very specific condition. This technique is more expensive to execute (relatively) therefore we gave the "rich" names. This really started as a cute inside joke, but many folks have asked about it lately so there you go!
Again these are pretty loose definitions, I can think of examples that dont necessarily follow this completely.
When it comes to quality - none of the above descriptors are necessarily better than others. There may be some common threads, but I hesitate to share those because there are too many other variables to account for. I would advise that you dont sleep on the "simple" names as you might miss some real gems (for example, our latest batch of old fashioned "Green Hulu Kapuas" is a great batch... I am really starting to grow fond of it)
At the end of the day, body chemistry overrules all... I just can't stress this enough. I just pulled the last week's worth of data for the Wild Crafted Gold as an example. I trimmed out most of the info to keep it simple, all you need to know is the last number shown on each line is the "Overal Quality" score (based on a scale of 1-10)
1 = poor quality, little to no results
5 = average quality, what you can expect from most batches of kratom on the market
10 = Highest quality - the best of the best available.

As you can see, opinions vary greatly and this is actually a pretty tame example. If you combine all scores it will average out to a 7.6, however, that score would be unbelievable for the person who rated it a "2". It is very rare to have a batch that everybody loves. Even some of our best batches ever have tough critics, especially when they are only testing a small sample.
This also applies when folks are identifying their "favorite" batches. I think a recent post that was started during our last event illustrates the variation of preference beautifully. (link below)
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4162&hilit=favorite+tfh
As you can see, just about everyone has a different opinion. It seems like with many vendors there tends to be a few batches that stand out more often as peoples "favorites". However, for whatever reason, I feel like our "favorites" tend to be all over the place. I have no idea why that is. I'm curious if others see the same thing or if I am just seeing things because I spend too much time looking at batch data
Some batches seem to have a much higher standard deviation than others - our October batch of Red Bali #2 comes to mind. Some folks bought it by the kilo saying its wast he best kratom they have ever had, while others got absolutely nothing from it. Many Bentuangie batches also come to mind when I think of high polarization.
What is even more interesting, is we will occasionally do what we call "mirror testing". Mirror testing involves us giving two identical test samples under different names to the same tester. As you can imagine the results can vary greatly and only a small minority of folks are really consistent. Obviously the inconsistency can be the result of a variety of variables, but in some scenarios, we might use this information to assign a heavier/lighter weight to a specific testers' input.
Dont even get me started on human bias. 90% of the time folks will report that the "color" of the batch is whatever we label it. (even if they tested a "white" that was labeled as a "red").

I wonder if any testers test more than one sample during the same day. I have to take a break after no more than two consecutive days because by the third day, I can't trust that my reaction isn't being influenced by slow tolerance buildup. Interesting to see scores from 2 to 10 for the same batch. Surely tolerance buildup, however slight, is at play for some of the low scores.

I understand that everybody is different. Ive talked to two other people that have tried the most recent batch of the wild crafted gold a6ir. They both thought it was excellent. I have a very high tolerance for leaf thats why i can comfortably say that this strain is at very least a 8/10.

Re: TFH Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
That really helps a review, to know where your tolerance is at.. I suspect a good percentage % of kratomites do wrestle with tolerance issues.. So rating nine out of 20 tests = ( 9 or 10 ), this Wild Crafted Gold must be nice and strong!KratomAdvocateMO wrote: I have a very high tolerance for leaf thats why i can comfortably say that this strain is at very least a 8/10.
Toss out "2" as a statistical outlier.. Take any 20 random users, you'd expect a couple at least who are abusing the leaf/ mixing with opioids/ or totally blown out their tolerance where they can't feel anything

Re: TFH Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
Great points Ballz - there are a variety of formulas and rules we apply when determining a batch's overall quality score. When we are assigning an overall quality score for a batch for the purpose of determining if it makes the menu, we will often use a truncated mean or remove some scores outside the standard deviation. We will also weigh the scores of specific testers differently based on a variety of things (time of use, accurate scoring on "blind" samples, etc...). For example - we may reduce the weight of data that comes from a tester who has less than a year of kratom experience and scores of everything above an "8"BallzDeep9 wrote:That really helps a review, to know where your tolerance is at.. I was sharing with somebody earlier who was asking me for an overall quality score of a specific batch (not the gold discussed here) and I told them that the raw score 7.8. While 7.8 may not sound very impressive, it actually is a high score when you take into account that hardly any batch with over 20 surveys will have a raw score above a 9. No matter how amazing a batch is, kratom is still kratom... there will almost always be 10% of people who it just doesn't do anything for (only 1 batch this year doesn't have a single bad score).

I ordered and tried 30 Year wild yellow tfh ir35 (main reason why i orderd from TFH this round), very underwhelming, no euphoria. I am going to try again, but I was let down after hearing everyone liking it. I tried at slightly under my normal dose at 3.1 grams (norm is 3.6-4). I froze it over night too :\. Going to retry before posting my review here. Glad others liked it, and i know everyones chemistry is different, maybe it just doesnt work for me. I did get a sample of wild harvest yellow maeng da, and that was spectacular.Slippy wrote: Did you happen to try 30 Year Wild Yellow - TFH IR35? That was the best yellow I've tried thus far. Re: TFH Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
TLDR: 30 year wild yellow TFH IR35 is amazing, my error for improperly brewing the first time--had not added lime juice.
Adding lime juice completely improved my 30 year wild yellow TFH IR35 experience. First tried without, for unadulterated taste. I brew as teas, filtering plant material which I assume means I am potentially losing lots of alkaloids. I have been retesting all TFH batches w/ lime juice, each one immensely more intense with the lime juice, also could visually see bits of red in the Kratom sludge mixture before pouring into the water on the stove. I lowered the dosage too, anticipating the lime juice strength increase. Not sure if potentiator is the correct term as I believe it is just separating the alkaloids from the plant matter.
Also sorry if I diverted attention away from Wild Crafted Gold A6IR
one love
