Hahaha! I did not know that cheese is addictive, maybe explains why I get cravings for feta cheese, and blue cheese, yuk,,but I can't eat blue cheese anymore, ,I have allergies to mold,,and blue cheese makes me feel ill,, but I love grilled cheese, with American and pepperjack, ,I hate cheese in single wraps,,and velveta ,otherwise I love cheese wrapped around a dill pickle is good too

Re: Anyone else obsessed with cheese?
I’m a huge fan. There are some great shops on the California coast (Cowgirl Creamery: awesome Mt. Tam soft brie-like cheese, in the Ferry Building in SF, the Cheese Shop in Carmel (Monterey County).
Good prices, huge variety, sell baggutes and other specialty foods too.
My ATF: Epoisse de Bourgogne - $26.95/ea, $59.95/lb
Washed rind, unpasteurized cow’s milk cheese from the Burgundy region of France. This sublime diskshaped cheese is washed with Marc de Bourgogne, which gives this creamy, “gooey” cheese a mouthful of earthy flavor. Berthaut is possibly the greatest producer of this exotic cheese.
Rind has a orangeish color like the old fiesta ware plates from the 70s.
It is awesome on crostini or even a (black pepper) water cracker.
Beehive Cheese out of Utah has an amazing promontory and a “barely buzzed” white with lavender and an espresso powder rind. My wife loves the cajun curds. The sea hive (has sea salt crystals in it) is also good.
I’m a huge fan of burrata buffalo mozzarella, but seems to be hard to find. Awesome with artichoke hearts and balsamic.

Just ordered some 14 year old Super Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese from a small farm in Vermont I visited years ago. I’ve had it before and it’s got those crunchy protein crystals that only very aged hard cheeses get. Delicious!

I got some extremely good and very aged white cheddar from Vermont at a cheese and sausage shop near here. It was one of the best cheeses I've ever had.

Right? People hear “crunchy cheese” and run away. Which is fine - more for me. This was from Sugarbush Farm in VT and they also do online sales.herbalhippie wrote: O.M.G. YUM

All I know is I’ve been addicted to the Sharp White Cheddar Cheez-it Grooves for the last, like, 6 months. It’s my main source of snacc.

I will try these. I've always been a fan of Cheese Nips over Cheez-its, but I"ll try any cheese snacky cracker once.Burninator wrote:All I know is I’ve been addicted to the Sharp White Cheddar Cheez-it Grooves for the last, like, 6 months. It’s my main source of snacc.
Many years ago my kid's dad was sent a food gift basket. It had a bag of some artisan smoked mozzarella crackers and they were the best cheese cracker I'd ever tasted. Couldn't find them for sale though.
What I really miss are Nabisco Swiss Cheese crackers. Those and Bacon Thins. Nabisco discontinued their two best crackers in my opinion.

Lemme know what you think! The Cheez-it grooves are so much better than the original imo because they're super crunchy and don't turn to sludge in your mouth. I also really like the Cheez-it Snap'd -- specifically the Jalapeno Jack ones.

My current addiction is Ritz Sour Cream & Onion Toasted Chips. This addiction has been going on for about a year now.

Most cheese is good for you but the cheap processed Kraft American cheese I remember reading somewhere that it's one of the highest containing sources of aluminum. They add aluminum to give it a certain texture appeal to people. Its messed up.

Re: Anyone else obsessed with cheese?
If anyone has a Winco grocery store near them, check out the store brand cheeses. I'd swear they are way cheaper lately, like $1.98lb for 4 or 5 basic varieties, compared to usually $2.79-$3.29lb. It's not fancy stuff, but it's fine for sandwiches, or spicing up that mac-n-cheese, that frozen pizza you regret buying, or just topping up some tacos or a burritto.

Lol casomorphins do not mean cheese is physically addictive. They don't really do anything. There are a lot of opioids in nature like that.Jim Jurgan wrote:Man one post in and it's already butt jokes![]()

I will concur though that cheese is amazing. My favorite is pepperjack.

Re: Anyone else obsessed with cheese?
Stilton. My first husband and I polished off a whole wheel (over a period of hours) in one sitting -- with about four bottles of wine.
It isn't at all like, say, never wanting to look at Tequila for as long as you live. We weren't sick of it at all. 24 hours later we wished we'd bought more!
(but you must have enviable powers of digestion if you comfortably consume massive amounts of cheese with even modest amounts of kratom!)

Re: Anyone else obsessed with cheese?
Well it certainly has effects on oral opiates, I remember I used to eat a bunch of cheese after taking poppy tea. It would intensify it a pretty crazy amount maybe because of the fat making the morphine more bio available or the casomorphins attaching to the opioid receptors in your stomach resulting in more morphine going to the brain. Who knows.... I ended up gaining 40lbs of fat doing that lol.StringThing wrote:Lol casomorphins do not mean cheese is physically addictive. They don't really do anything. Sometimes my mom will just melt cheese into a bowl and eat it.
I copied her and man, is it good. Bad for the waistline, though.
