Oh ok, i been outside all day, planted 4 tree's for a friend. Big 5 gal tree's. I have no interest what trump or news says, they both playing people to pick sides but have one master. I choose to invest my time into helping people or garden stuff. What i know to be true for me is not true for you. I also know there is way more people die because they scared of virus and scared to be hooked on ventilators because of rumors people are not trained hooking ventilators up the right way and kill way more by accident. So older people die at home from other reasons because they scared to go to hospitals because hospitals everywhere are all over filled according to news, but of course its Covid 19, everything is covid 19, wait its the Russians fault, blame the Russians!. See, playing the blame game, I am sick and tired seeing all sides wasting peoples time and playing with peoples lifes. If you can, i would highly advice turn off the TV, and go do something positive for a change. There is already fear on all sides. we don't need that anymore. If someone wants to die, let them enjoy the beach, WTF is your problem? Have you seen final destination, some have a death wish. Or maybe they know nothing will happen and its a dirty political game and all john Hopkins numbers are tripled for each death. Whats true any more is pointless, because your playing the game when you start surfing the net and consuming all the fear porn from all sides. At least if they catch something on the beach, they know they left this world happy while those in house are miserable and depressed and never will be happy, its like another form of death. Sorry i meant it toward Hhazard20 first timer poster who is living in fear. I hope he dont get a heart attack from watching all the news. Me honestly. I already knew whats going on, both sides playing people like a yoyo. First in out job it was discussed that the april will be taken off then it was taken back few weeks from most jobs. Currently most or all plants have a return date to work in May, I even told some employees when i left job, it will last around one month from just observing thing. I got a bet with someone we will all return to work in may 100% for our plant and i know i wont lose my bet money. I just feel very bad for those that think they are not being played and feared... any way soon we will see who is right. I personally think all party will agree not to stay indoors, and there going to be a good reason soon. just wait.its coming...

The OP was not a first timer, in fact if you look, he/she now has 51 posts! Plus, people here have the right to be fearful and worried just the same as myself and many others nationwide/worldwide. This is not a conspiracy I assure you.... I haven't missed a day of work yet as I'm an essential worker as well as I know many people on the front line whether law enforcement, fire, medical and so on! This isn't a joke, a hoax, or being over exaggerated it's very real and very scary. If absolutely love for you to stop trying to convince people otherwise... I'd rather be safe than sorry, and protect my grandparents who are very high risk in the process. But, I can see there's really no rationalizing here so all good.... So, because I spoke up on a topic where your views were concerning to me, that means you have to run away since I am playing things safe and doing what I need in order to keep me and my family safe/healthy?!

Please, youtube is not the only source for any "evidence" and youtube videos can be as false in what they present as the news on TV. If you don't watch news but instead gets your information from youtube alone, you are only seeing what is on youtube and therefore may be missing more to the picture/story. There are many forms which one can finds news on various issues. Traditional news outlets, social media platforms like twitter/reddit/facebook/youtube, blogs, etc, etc. May I ask, respectfully Brave, why you believe the information in the videos on youtube you post are presenting the truth of our reality? People who makes youtube videos rely on getting views and subscribers to make money, so there can easily be just as much bias in youtube videos just as there is a bias in all media (not saying this is true for all, as there are many people who use platforms like youtube to try to truly educate and explore topics/issues without goal of making money but solely to try to educate an audience or explore various topics and perspectives)

I, myself, try to find views from wide range of sources. I follow many independent journalists and activists on twitter and youtube, for example Kyle Kulinski on twitter and his show Secular Talk on his youtube channel (He discusses wide range of topics but mainly political). Glenn Greenwald and Edward Snowden and Wikileaks on twitter post their thoughts and views on subjects but more important are often the different links to various news websites that they share on their twitter feeds (so you get a person's beliefs/opinions on twitter and then links to various outlets discussing the issues they mention on twitter. Where I look for information is not limited at all, certainly not to just the names I listed above, as I'll look at mainstream outlets and people no one knows but whom may be an expert or teacher in a specific field. I don't limit myself to where and who I look to in order find information essentially.

Reddit as countless subreddits and there is a wealth on information on there as well as a wealth of fake news and misinformation. But reddit is useful for things like: r/legaladvice r/NorthCarolina (where I live), r/starwars (I'm a star wars nerd

) r/kratom (used to be but still has sidebar with lots of links to relevant information) and many more. Reading books, watching documentaries, reading published journals and also blogs from activists/authors/independent journalists are sources I use the most. There is also podcasts like Joe Rogan, and regardless of what you may think of him, his podcast brings people from all walks of life on his program and discusses wide-ranging topics(there are countless podcasts on all sorts of subjects as another means to find information on topics). And yes I also look at regular news as also sources of where I find different information. My point is simply one cannot look at one source of information to see the complete view of whatever one is looking There is also podcasts like Joe Rogan, and regardless of what you may think of him, his brings people from all walks of life on his program and discusses wide-ranging topics information on.

I'm a conspiracy person, but using youtube as a sole source is not the best way, nor a complete and honest method, to show people the truth (of what you believe, and everyone is entitled to own beliefs). It can be one means of information, but also easily a means of misinformation. For example, many youtube videos propose the earth is flat or the earth is hollow. Does these videos show the truth? They can, but they can also give you Alex Jones and Info Wars and legions of people who believe in what Info Wars talks about (no judgement from me for any that due). Youtube can be used as a means to distort information just like media outlets, using selective editing and all the tricks of film-making and editing. That is not to say that one cannot get a wide range of differing opinions and views from youtube alone. It is, in my opinion, a more narrow approach when it comes to global news, and also limited in that youtube censors content and they have agenda's in how and what they censor.

I'll give two examples of twitter (and links on twitter pages) for source of information regarding the Pandemic relief package: #1) https://twitter.com/ddayen/status/1251284441420271616 That is thread by David Dayen who is an author of a few books, but what is important that he reported on a loophole in the bill that was fucking awful, and through his reporting banks are now returning money they were seizing from people's stimulus checks. Regardless of what you believe of political opinions or what these people say, twitter and youtube and reddit and blogs are platforms where thousands of journalists can present their views and opinions... and for twitter specifically on individual twitter pages often there will be links to sites with detailed explanations of the topics being discussed... and if they are right or wrong is up to each reader to decide. I hate social media, but to find a wide array of different sources of information, I follow several people's twitter accounts as it provides a way to get links to many sources of information. The people I mentioned above have dozens of links to various stories from multiple journalists and multiple outlets (From mainstream outlets such as nytimes, WashingtonPost, politico, the intercept and others, to lesser known independent or person websites/youtube channels/blogs)

It's a shame this has all turned political. And i don't expect to change anyones mind that already has theirs made up, and chooses to ignore facts and data while screaming as loud as possible FAKE NEWS and just following Trump's lead in general.

But I just want to restate- it's not an individual thing. You can be a presymptomatic or an asymptomatic carrier, not showing any covid symptoms, and spread it around to everyone, including your loved ones and people that are taking precautions. Respectfully, It's ok if you want to ignore facts, many do, like the 45,000 (as of today) Americans that have lost their lives (are they fake?) but it's irresponsible and selfish to go around doing what you're doing, which is spreading something else - misinformation. Everyone has to do this, social distancing, being extra hygienic, following the guidelines in general, together, for it to work. And it's actually started working, just look at the data. You may be okay with people playing on the beach, but it could cause a massive spread and hurt/kill people that are trying to do what's right. Keep in mind the death rate in the US has doubled, just in the last week. Who knows what it will be when testing ramps up.They are now predicting a second wave coming after this current one in the fall, when flu season starts. We are learning new things about Covid everyday.

Just look at history. Look at the 1917-1919 Spanish flu, it had THREE different waves, and the 2nd was the deadliest. We aren't even done with the first...hell, they project that it hasn't even begun in the American Midwest. If we ease up on guidelines and social distancing now, we WILL experience more death. Don't forget, it's not just about you, it's about everyone, and I would say the same thing to anyone of those ignorant protestors.

Brave, In response to your "proof" about cops not using PPE (personal protective equipment), it's common knowledge that the US is suffering from a huge lack of PPE, even now-months into this debacle. PPE is still in incredibly high demand. Nurses, doctors,.etc are having to reuse or share masks and gowns for an entire day, which are designed to be one use only. And they get priority for that equipment, it doesn't surprise me at all that some don't have it..but they're still putting their lives on the line in the name of public service. So there's that. if you look at the polls, 66% of Americans are in favor of staying locked down and are nervous about going back to work too early. Those protestors represent a very small slice of Americans. Your bet with whoever in May is sorta flawed...plenty of people (essential workers) are already working - they never stopped. If you honestly think that every single person in every profession will be back to work nationwide, well I think that's an awful bold bet. Georgia's governor is already making the insane move of opening up tattoo parlors and nail salons statewide, but not schools or restaurants, which is in direct defiance of federal guidelines. You can test your hypothesis there...will people actually go out and go to a hair salon or get a massage, while Georgia continues to see their death toll continue to spike by the day?

But I just want to restate- it's not an individual thing. You can be a presymptomatic or an asymptomatic carrier, not showing any covid symptoms, and spread it around to everyone, including your loved ones and people that are taking precautions. Keep in mind the death rate in the US has doubled, just in the last week. Who knows what it will be when testing ramps up.They are now predicting a second wave coming after this current one in the fall, when flu season starts. We are learning new things about Covid everyday.

Just look at history. Look at the 1917-1919 Spanish flu, it had THREE different waves, and the 2nd was the deadliest. We aren't even done with the first...hell, they project that it hasn't even begun in the American Midwest. If we ease up on guidelines and social distancing now, we WILL experience more death. Don't forget, it's not just about you, it's about everyone, and I would say the same thing to anyone of those ignorant protestors.

Brave, In response to your "proof" about cops not using PPE (personal protective equipment), it's common knowledge that the US is suffering from a huge lack of PPE, even now-months into this debacle. PPE is still in incredibly high demand. Nurses, doctors,.etc are having to reuse or share masks and gowns for an entire day, which are designed to be one use only. And they get priority for that equipment, it doesn't surprise me at all that some don't have it..but they're still putting their lives on the line in the name of public service. So there's that. if you look at the polls, 66% of Americans are in favor of staying locked down and are nervous about going back to work too early. Those protestors represent a very small slice of Americans. Your bet with whoever in May is sorta flawed...plenty of people (essential workers) are already working - they never stopped. If you honestly think that every single person in every profession will be back to work nationwide, well I think that's an awful bold bet. Georgia's governor is already making the insane move of opening up tattoo parlors and nail salons statewide, but not schools or restaurants, which is in direct defiance of federal guidelines. You can test your hypothesis there...will people actually go out and go to a hair salon or get a massage, while Georgia continues to see their death toll continue to spike by the day?

If my examples mean nothing, i am out. And i am not going to have a good day knowing there is people who dont care about other people except his own grandparents. this affects all of us world wide, you suppose to care and you dont. kinda selfish if you ask me. I also make sure grandparents dont go anywhere, and on top of that i care about other people. Maybe i care to much??? I also care about you and everyone but having a mind to not care for my examples shows how much you care about other people. did you even look at my viedo examples? I honestly think you didnt. Thats how much you care about your posters as a mod. sorry man , its facts.. i tried to reason with you.

Haven't heard from you in a while, brave. I hope you won't leave this community. Your ideas may not be popular with some folks here, but I have NEVER felt as though I was being threatened (harassed, etc..) by your posts. Your beliefs are your own. You share them. There is no reason why anyone here should pile on you for your beliefs, imo. "Civilizations" don't thrive when everyone agrees about the same things.

No one said we have to all agree... Nor did anyone say he couldn't voice his opinions!

Simply pointed out that the theories have gotten more and more wild, advocating for people disregarding warnings to self isolate and wear PPE and such, and he mocked/insulted other people for have contradicting views from himself actually so.....

Don't get me wrong I hope he's not gone for good either, that wasn't at all the intention. Like I had said from the start, my intentions were some damage control and to look out for the people with opposite views such as myself that he had mocked and made skeptical on whether to even post their honest opinions I'm sure. "It takes all kinds" which means civility, acceptance, tolerance, and consideration are in order and I didn't feel that was totally taking place is all.....

Wellllll.... Cuz you mentioned that you didn't feel he should be piled on by others here for his beliefs, as well as civilizations don't thrive when everyone always agrees. First off, saying someone was being a diva isn’t exactly trash talking... or even indicative of dislike; I don’t know him.

Secondly, I think you missed my point. I wasn’t implying in any sense that I’m “apolitical”. Political discussions by all means have a place. Whether that place is the internet is a debate in and of itself, but the fact of the matter is that it usually isn’t. Especially in today’s political climate. Just hop on Reddit, or Facebook, or twitter to see for yourself. It’s the fucking thunderdome out there, and the funniest part of all is that virtually no one honestly believes their impassioned rants are going to change anyone’s mind.

That’s why I said I stay away from “frivolous” political debates.

I agree that if we could check our ego at the door it would certainly help facilitate healthy discussions, but the thing that makes that so unlikely to happen is that (typically speaking) the only people discussing politics online are either looking for an echo chamber or they’re looking to tear someone to shreds. It’s become a pissing contest that’s fueled by ego.

Also, I didn’t come in here to decry anyone. I was thoroughly entertained. I’ll always read the political debates; I just choose not to engage in them myself. I have enough stress as it is.
