What are you listening to this morning?
Whether it be, radio, your own quiet breathing, trucks i downshifting on the highway, rock, some nefarious commercial jingle, jazz, country, or if you hate yourself forthe eternal music soundtrack from your underground bunker, what are you 2 this morning?
I'll go first.
Some crazy guy on CNN going on about some kind of a Corona virus whatever that is.
Oh yeah, and some "Ruins" by Grouper.. don't worry this is not to turn into some kind of shitty Rush Limbaugh, Rosie, Howard Stern God-forbidden "Morning Guys" delirious sound effects, want to plow into oncoming traffic new show, we just want to know what you were listening to. It could be as simple as Enya, or as smooth and seductions Enya.
Rock, Pop, jazz, funk, funkrock, droningdroning hop music, brain aueral brain scans, Frasier droningdroning, Merzbow, whatever, a Wilhelm Scream, droning,, ANYTHUNG.

Oneida - Secrert Wars..
I'm not usually in to New York artrocky krautish Brooklynyte hipsters but I find these guys surprising listenable. It's like someone said let's take The Strokes, mix them in with the Dndy Warhols and/or the Brian Jonestown Massacre , add a pinch of Television and see if we can record anything good. Not sure if the answer's yes but theie 2004's Secret Cars definitely works... And has CGBG's written all over it. Not bad for a first time wake up listen. 2004 - before and after liking New York was cool.

I've been on a late 60's pop rock little bit of
,V I'm not sure why. A lot of it gets overlooked mostv people are all into evil Jefferson airplane evil but methinks it's just early 70s top rock blossoming into his forte is just Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin and and all that stuff..it was actually quite a decent bit of music put in being put out buy American and British bands, they but don't get me wrong, there are still clean blues chords and distorted keyboard galore. that kind of fell by the wayside because of the wealth of much more popular music that was coming out at this time. It started to gain way in New York with spoken word poetry and the watch streets poets and the last poets who are both extremely influential and 70s spoken word what was later to be called hip hop or rap. And of course we have in the mid-70 Jam Master Jay and the whole Advent of disco and crew of taking over. And that's a whole new genre of music was born seemingly overnight. Anyway I came here to talk about play 60s early 70s psychedelic Rock and this seems to be where it all started from and it has its own right 2 ways to its own. Before punk to cover the seventies there were bands like Roxy music and the New York Dolls ripping it up paving the way for what would you what would be genre and generational splash of music. ...
(Forgive me for all the grandmas and tie pillows that's how I write my best is freeform like my heroes Jack Kerouac and William S Burroughs) it's amazing how once you start to study the history of one part of music or one part of a literature how would all just blends together into one big klusterfuk gangbang

Hey, uh...you should watch it with the phenibut. It's really addic....oh, nevermind...INXS is way more dangerous! You're walking a thin line there, friendo!CatfatherB wrote:Dude, that Rollins album was friggin hilarious...I never listened to very much Rollins band but a friend of mine loved him, he got me into the Misfits however....mivanqua wrote:My ex blathering on and on about dumb shit. And, yeah. Henrietta Collins....is a definite diamond in the rough. Glad you liked it. When I was a teenager and was working my first job waiting tables at Shoneys, that was my shower/get ready/bike riding to work music.

Checked out the 2 new 'Trapt' songs they posted from their upcoming album, they seemed pretty generic/polished sounding to me, and no rock edge to them at all. Kind of a bummer, that band was usually good for some straight ahead rock tunes.

Anyone for Swervedriver? Blind Melon? I love cult classic 90s alternative rock. Oh, and the new Run the Jewels is pretty dope. I'm not into the new Mumble rap scene but I like the "indie" rap stuff EL-P is one of my favorite rappers. Sage Francis too.

I like Sage and El-P but on the contrary to popular review run the jewels does nothing for me which is additional upsetting with how much I love RATM and Zach De Larocha!!! But to each their own, right?! Indie/underground hip hop has always been on heavy rotation for me as well as many other types of music....Siegebruce wrote:Anyone for Swervedriver? Blind Melon? Wow, you like EL-P but you don't like Killer Mike/RTJ? Just wondering, he's not everyone's cup of tea but he's a great foil to EL-P in RTJ. Couldn't think of anybody better than killer Mike to go head to head with EL-P for not just one remix or something, but four entire albums? They already have legitimacy in their own right but whoever put the two of them together was brilliant.

The Byrds, Method Man, and more Devo. Plus some ambient electronic stuff that helps induce sleep, makes for good background music. I really like ambient drone stuff too, like Harold Budd and Brian Eno. Ambient 1: Music for Airports is a classic, if you're into that type of thing.

The Kinks. Saw a great documentary about them on PBS, the other night, I'd totally missed out on some of their best albums (mainly mid to late 60s.)
