Any gamers here?
What are you guys playing?
Just started No Man's Sky and I'm blown away by how large the world is. File size was only like 10GB too. A lot of the planets are similar due to the procedural generation, but I just create a base on the ones I like/ones with good resources so I can teleport around collecting what I need. There's so much to do in this game.

My husband and I have No Mans Sky in our “games to check out” list. Sounds like we should bump it up. Thanks!
We have been playing pubg and cod mobile of late but I’m ready to play more strategy/sim type games and give the FPS a break for a while.

Gamer here.
No Man’s Sky is one of my favorites and I have an almost unhealthy amount of hours on it lol. Glad you’re enjoying it! Hello Games is great at adding a steady rate of new content to the game. In fact, they just released a major content patch 2 days ago. I'm pretty experienced with the game, so if you have any questions, just let me know!

I’ve been playing Ghost of Tsushima and it’s quickly become one of my favorite games of all time.
Have still been sleeping on No Man’s Sky. Bought it during a sale over a year ago but I haven’t put more than 30 minutes into it yet. I plan to, it’s just not super high up on my list atm.

The Last of Us on PSNow. You guys should check it out if you've never played and don't have a playstation. Its a cloud gaming service, which essentially means they stream the game to you as if it were like a video. All you need is a spare ps3/ps4 or other usb controller.

I’m only now realizing PSNow is available for PC. Definitely makes it a lot cooler—though I still prefer the selection on game pass.burnmaster3000 wrote:The Last of Us on PSNow. Did you play TLOU2 yet?

Woah, didn't know you could do this on PC. I've been wanting to play that for a while. I'm gonna look into this, thanks for bringing it up.burnmaster3000 wrote:The Last of Us on PSNow. Side note: How do you guys make money in No Man's Sky? I'm like 15h in and just barely bought another ship.

I have various mining facilities set up to mine activated indium and also have farms growing plants to craft the best selling goods. But, that will come much later for you. You'll have to farm all the recipes for crafting and building parts to build up the mines which can take many hours to get everything. My entire network of farms make me about 250m units every 24 hours, so the effort is well worth it.StringThing wrote:Side note: How do you guys make money in No Man's Sky? For early game, I would just focus on crashing system economies for quick money. Chlorine and Cobalt are great for this at early stages. There are lots of good youtube videos on crashing economies to get you started with this method (Jason Plays is one of my favorites, he has tons of awesome No Man's Sky videos. Here's one for economy crashing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pN9zsi2Smk). Eventually though, it won't be worth your time since you'll have access to better ways to make money, but for just starting out it should generate some decent units.
Right now, at only 15h in, I highly recommend just following the story lines (both Artemis and the Atlas Path). Both of these questlines will teach you how most of the game systems work. Also, you should be digging up as much Salvaged Data as you can while you explore and take it to the Anomaly to trade for building blueprints. Any nanites you get should go towards upgrading your multitool scanner first and foremost since scanning will give units. After that, movement modules for your exosuit.
I could write about this for hours but I'll stop here. There's so much to learn and do in this game that it would be impossible to cover everything in a post lol.
