7ohm - Elephant Green Malay Hulu
I received a 100 gram bag of EGMH in the holiday giveaway thread. Shipping was prompt, he put it in the mail the same day I gave my address. I wasn't expecting it until after Christmas due to the USPS situation, but surprisingly it got here in less than a week. Full disclosure, I was not asked to leave a review, I just thought it would be a worthwhile thing to do, plus the leaf is good.
The powder is a medium-dark forest green, appears very fresh and still slightly moist and not dried out. It clings to the inside of the bag, which doesn't usually happen. The smell is subtle, not the overwhelming freshly cut grass smell that you sometimes encounter. I'm told it is "a sun-dried green, the most potent red there is" and that it was dried for two hours in the sun, and the remainder in the dark. For it being sun dried it still has a very green color and not a faded tan or brown. There was no batch date but I assume it's a fairly recent 2020 batch.
As for effects, they kicked in around 40 minutes after toss and wash. It's a very slow and warm burn, had I not known the strain name I would have guessed a red. Muscle relaxation and calmness is pronounced, and I felt myself slowly dozing off after about an hour in. I must have fell asleep for a few minutes, but when I woke up the effects were still very much there. There was some mild mood lift, not especially euphoric, but good for anxiety and pain. It lasted quite a long time, usually my burns taper off after 3 hours or so, but after this I didn't feel the remotest need to redose until 6 hours later. I burned it again and got the same effects as the first time.
Overall I'd give it 8/10. Ideal for evening or late night, seems like it would be a good sleep aid. Very relaxing and good pain relief, I had wrist surgery not too long ago and it wiped out the pain completely, I didn't need to take ibuprofen like usual. If you like slow and anxiolytic reds, I'd recommend this.

Re: 7ohm - Elephant Green Malay Hulu
I also received 100g of Elephant green malay hulu as a holiday present in a contest by 7ohm.
Fresh, soft, and pillowy light green powder. I had been expecting aged kratom due to the vendor's long history and huge inventory, but this kratom is new, nice plus.
How did it hit? Kratom fought the good fight against a late lunch, and held its own.
Thumbs up! Mahalo Steve.

It's a slow, kinda subtle come up, starting around 30 minutes in. It doesn't really "hit" so much as it gradually increases. I would have to revise my opinion on the color after looking at it under light, it is more of a light green. Before I saw it against the background of the white bag it came in, but by itself it looks like a light-medium green. I'm wondering what you'll and others think of it, to me it's one of the slowest strains I've tried, even more so than some darker reds. I've been blending it with some other daytime whites and greens with success. It's good by itself for night.

Thanks for the clear and concise reviews! I’m trying a small order to sample. Looking forward to liking it enough to review. Except I chose a vintage strain. Should be a retro good help for managing my symptoms if the vintage is as helpful as these current batches! Happy New Year!

I got the vintage Bali. It’s super dose sensitive! It can be fast (don’t use much!) or slow (still don’t need a lot, but a bit more while still less than average amounts). I’m finding it helpful for all different reasons. Happy New Year!
