I've got some Denette that doesn't really work for me too well,.including almost a whole bag of Red Sula Strong and almost a whole bag of Red Kutai, and a bunch of odds and ends, but I'm going to keep on trying those two until they work damnit! Hahaha! I remember the Kutai is half indoor dried and half outdoor dried and I never understood why it doesn't work for me, that's my favorite curing method.

I miss Denette so much, if I knew the last batch was the last batch, I would.hsve bought a TON more. He was a dependable guy and held to his word, even at his own expense and don't think I don't know how rare that is. Love you, D! I'll never forget the Red Fire debacle!

I think he did one drop around a year ago? I wouldn't mind even one or two drops a year but I don't know the supplier side of the business or how much of a pain it must be to deal with the new regulations. Those Denette greens were legendary, Green #1 and #2 are two of the most potent strains I've ever had, >2% mit and you could definitely tell. DTE has some fire greens too but I need them SKs/KAs in my life.

Since we are doing roll call, I am here and check the forum pretty regularly. I am in constant search for alt leaf or vintage bangers (my moms porno movie name) in the Trading Post. There has definitely been a drop off in activity here but I kind of like how hidden it all still is.

This forum will always have a sweet spot for me.

I'm trying to make a concerted effort of going from lurker to poster! :-) I love this place and don't want to see it perish; forums are so much better than ephemeral stuff like Discord.

I was a buyer of Denette's for a while and truly felt like his stuff was a 'golden age' for me with Kratom... it's a damn shame he ended up retiring. Great guy.

Seems like there's definitely more word-of-mouth about Kratom these days in my experience, and not in a good way; 7-OH bringing Kratom into the spotlight in the context of fearmongering and potential scheduling due to it being lumped in with plain leaf is awful.

Straight up leaf is awesome, I've been a daily user at 1/2 teaspoons x4 daily (spaced out by 4 hours between doses, each dose alongside a cup of black coffee), started out on Happy Hippo Herbals and then "graduated" to thekratomstore[.]com and ultimately ended up on Denette for about 2 years before these days using mostly Lone Star (LSMS), almost exclusively I guess. If anyone's got recommendations on their long-term reliable vendors for plain leaf I'd love to hear.

A member just sent me an email saying Denette left a review for Top Shelf Green Muna. I was excitedly expecting to see him back on the forum, but what came up with my search was this post It must have been a really old review or something. :(

At any rate, good to see some familiar names posting here. I dont post much, but Im a regular lurker for sure! Ive always just assumed the 7oh thing is what caused a slow down in the forum... Ive heard a lot of "stories" from members about 7oh, it seems like a lot of people have tried it and regretted it. Perhaps this is an unfair assessment as I am making it off of the numerous emails I have received from our members with horror stories... to be fair nobody would be sending me emails with their success stories, lol. No judgment on those who dabble in it, I guess the key is to keep it to a "dabble" which is hard for a lot of people to do.

Great to see all the names on this thread. I was sitting there smiling as I read each screen name, I have memories attached to almost ever name here. I love this place.

Regarding your points about 7oh, I don't believe your assessment is off the mark whatsoever -- my wife had a friend who became addicted to 7oh (she luckily got herself off of it), and I have heard similar horror stories through the grapevine in my personal life as well as online. Troubling times indeed, I'm scared for the future of plain leaf legality / availability. Thank god that Minnesota has kept plain leaf Kratom legal for those 21 years of age or older. :)

I think a majority of experienced users have had periods where they stocked up and are now much less prone to looking into new purchases. Plus, I keep thinking about moving several states over and I'm hesitant to deal with transporting multiple kilos of kratom at that time. Lol, on the other hand, once established in my new digs I'd be more open to celebrating that with the purchase of the latest top recommendations from this forum.

I have the same question. I am a long time 'advocate' (~10 years) and DoubleM member and for years I came to this forum for reviews and recommendations from other members. I started out with Gaia, Mystic Island and Liza's and was fortunate to learn on THIS forum about TFH, Denette, SMH, KOG, Mitra, and most recently (couple years ago) the reviews on DTE and LSMS opened up my eyes to other high quality vendors!
Now there are rarely new posts about new vendors.
IS THERE ANOTHER FORUM THAT PEOPLE MOVED TO??
I follow DTE on Discord, but I'm not good at following the Discord style of communication.
To be honest, I did not post anything for years on this forum although I frequently (1-2x/ week) checked the posts. I only became comfortable posting on this forum recently. And now it seems everyone is gone.
I would like to leave positive reviews for Phantom and ANA. These 2 vendors are highly recommended- as well as the others I mentioned above.
Please let me know how I can join whichever platform or forum the other DoubleM people have moved to! Thanks!

I think people are not commenting on batchs they have and the quality as much as long ago is why.

I think making a IRC channel( it's my favorite app even after 30+ years/privacy on point) or discord (not private and only my last and/or only option to discuss whatever service I have to discuss about).
Having IRC channel could help people talk in real time and discuss many topics.

Today is the first time in awhile that I've been here and I do miss it. I stopped coming here all because of the 7OH stuff. There were too many frequent postings about it and singing it's praises. My own opinion is it's terrible for the kratom community and I'm really afraid it is going to make our regular leaf be taken away. My own personal experience with it was a nightmare and it was a very low dose. 7OH is not just kratom and please don't listen to anyone who tells you that. It's nice to see that most everyone here now is singing the praises of plain leaf and that makes me happy. Hope everyone is doing well!

I hear you. I was on a low dose and it wrecked me trying to get off it. Right now I'm sticking with crushed leaf tea. It's so soothing and calming. I'm in Kentucky and kratom is supposedly going to be illegal here July 2027 if something doesn't change. That will suck.

I've been on this forum long enough so hopefully I can, respectfully, share my thoughts and experiences with 7oh without being thrown to the wolves so-to-speak, and I certainly don't want to make others not come to Doublemm because of my opinion/experience with 7oh... and I promise I'm not trying to argue and sing 7oh praises, but I use both 7oh and plain leaf kratom. Have for over a year now. Me, my mom, and my dad actually, all use 7oh daily. We've, luckily, had no issues. No problems with it, without it. No withdrawals, no tolerance increases. Maybe we are an extreme rare anomaly when it comes to 7oh, but it's worked extremely well for the 3 of us. I'm actually placing an order with TFH tonight and below I'm pasting what I sent in my email to Chris/Gumbyke since he mentioned he's heard mostly negative 7oh stories from customers, and I wanted to share a positive 7oh experience:
(below is direct copy/paste from my email to Chris at TFH):

My father last year around March/April 2025 had to stop taking plain leaf kratom. He was having issues with being too nauseous and his stomach could no longer handle powder form. He also deals with difficulty swallowing pills so capsules became too much of a struggle. And so, I was running out of options for him, and turned to 7oh to try to help his pain without kratom (since doctors still would not prescribe him any pain meds). And the success was HUGE, just as kratom was a game changer for us in 2015 when we first discovered it. 7oh provides him with better relief and he only needs 1-3 pills. I keep his doses low, around 20-30mg per dose, about 2-3 times a day, and still add in some kratom extract pills for him in combo with the 7oh, and he's finally been able to sleep again after years of suffering with not sleeping from too much pain. 7oh just has greater relief. And he's gone days without any 7oh without any trouble, no withdrawals, etc. He has been in the hospital twice this year, and no issues with pain meds they gave him while there, the little pain meds they actually did provide him while he was in the hospital (I mention that because I know it's a fear for many that 7oh will cause pain meds to no work in such a situation, but for my father, no issues in that regard. Everyone is different and I've read plenty who've had opposite reactions though and got little to zero effect from traditional pain meds)... For him, the pros outweigh the potential cons. And that's all each individual has to decide when it comes to what we put in our bodies. But honestly, since my father can't take regular plain leaf anymore, without 7oh his quality of life would be HORRIBLE.
Now for my mother and myself, we started incorporating 7oh into our daily routines alongside our regular plain leaf kratom. And again, the results have been spectacular for the pain relief aspect. And an added bonus is we've cut down out daily kratom grams per day by a lot. My mother went from approximately 75gpd leaf (I know, way too much;, she let it get out of hand with constant dosing) to now she takes about 30gpd alongside about 30-50mg per day of 7oh (in doses of 10-20mg per dose). I'm down to 4-6gpd (from 15-18gpd) of leaf and around 20-40mg of 7oh as well (10-20mg doses also). We've had no issues with tolerance. Plain leaf actually works much better now that we've reduced daily usage. And have never had the need nor desire to increase 7oh use- we simply use 7oh in an "as-needed" way, and treat it essentially as we would a normal prescription of pain meds. We only use 7 for pain, and if no pain, we don't take it. And we use plain leaf every single day as well, and keep 7oh dose to the lowest mg dose that works (10-20mg for us). I should add we do not have addictive personalities, and none of us experience any euphoric effects from 7oh- just relief, which is all we look for. I think too many people chase a "high" or a specific feeling, and that is where they get into trouble, although no judgement to those who seek euphoria and/or highs- this world is on fire, I don't blame anyone who wants to get high at home for whatever reasons, adults should be able to do as they please IMO as long as it's not harming others. We've been lucky: 7oh has improved our pain relief tremendously and without any negative side effects. We've all gone days without using 7 without issues or withdrawal. As a bonus, my mother no longer gets kratom withdrawals in-between doses as she did when she was taking 75gpd (I can't believe I let her get her dosage up that high- since I make her doses, I feel somewhat responsible for her high usage amounts).
There's a lot of problems with 7oh, but there's also positives (harm reduction for example) and I fear the positives are not being shared enough and thus the overwhelming image of 7oh is extremely negative. I do agree that it is extremely easy to abuse, the marketing is terrible (as are many mit extracts/shots and companies like OPMS and "Feel Free" -- hell those Feel Free drinks have a shitton of negative news and horror stories about its products, and it's somewhat associated with kratom, should that be banned as well?). And people should treat 7oh very carefully or it can become a serious problem. Less is more, as with kratom (and most things in life), and with 7oh. Everything in moderation, and education is key in my opinion. I fear the loss of access to 7oh will result in relapses and also in people dying if they go back to street drugs, as well as the pain people will suffer without access to a tool like 7oh (just as I worry the negatives of 7oh will result in blanket kratoms bans). What is my father to do without 7oh? He won't drink kratoms tea (the man nearly died cause he refuses to drink water, literally was in kidney failure from dehydration, he's stubborn to say the least haha). Should he be denied access to it because of other peoples experiences with 7oh? It's a lifeline and only hope for many, like my father. Some people need stronger relief than what regular kratoms provides, or cannot tolerant the plant matter, etc etc but for whatever reasons some folks have greater success with 7oh than leaf especially regarding pain relief. If doctors treated pain patients with proper pain meds, perhaps this conversation wouldn't even be happening... I hate the division within the community, and that many of the same negative talking points used against kratom over the years - I heard kratom called "gas station Heroin" long before 7oh products were on shelves - are now being using against 7oh (though I do understand that perspective about the risks 7oh could pose to kratoms as a whole because our government doesn't care to distinguish the differences, and I don't think 7oh should be marketed as if it is regular kratom or the same thing because it isn't). In my opinion adults should be able to have the right to choose to take whatever they feel helps them live their best lives, so as long as it is not harming others (whereas one could argue alcohol shouldn't be legal or sold in bars due to the harm it causes to others through drunk driving alone- not that I am making that argument, just using an example off the top of my head and it's 4am so forgive me if this message isn't the clearest  ). 7oh has harm reduction potential (just as it has its own risks), not to mention the risk that if 7oh becomes a schedule 1 drug that all of kratom could be at risk due to the trace amounts of 7oh in plain leaf (hoping Congress/government makes that distinction is a serious gamble).

Sorry for the LONG story/rant. Sorry if I was all over the place and didn't make sense- it's been a long hard year for me. My dad's in really bad shape, my mother is getting worse, being their caregiver is fucking hard, and I just turned 40 so that sucks by itself  ;) , and these ban threats are a constant stress. So I just wanted to share a positive story of 7oh. Though I do hope my 7oh experience doesn't drive them away from engaging on this forum (nor am I suggesting anyone use 7oh)

Re: Our Forum - Where did everybody go?

Maybe it is the case that people have left because of 7-OH talk.....In that case, WHERE can people go to share about only plain leaf recommendations and vendor reviews? If there isn't a place, can someone create a forum???
I personally do not consider plain leaf AT ALL comparable to 7-OH. It is ALTERED to intentionally make it much stronger. There is NOTHING inherently negative about the development of a more targeted, effective pain relieving product! I am quite sure that it is a life- changer for people IN PAIN. Hearing about how 7-OH has helped, or can help, however many people DOES NOT change my belief that selling it alongside plain leaf, equating it to plain leaf, or trying to advocate for it in these forums is dangerous and irresponsible. I do not think it is wise to 1) encourage people to "give 7-OH a chance"..2).to talk about 7-OH "as if" it has ANYTHING TO DO WITH PLAIN LEAF or 3) to give anecdotal "successful -use" stories.
I do not mean to disregard or diminish the previous poster's example of how it helped their family. I dont view my personal use of plain leaf AS ANY DIFFERENT regarding using a substance to help in daily life. However, there is a VAST discrepancy in regards to RISK. The fact that someone feels the need to post about how their use of 7-OH hasn't resulted in full- blown opiate- like addiction for them or their family says it all.
Whether a person uses plain leaf, 7-OH, or ANY substance, that person is going to DEFEND their use of it. I had the impression when I read the previous post that they feel 7-oh is regarded as "negative" and if they can just give examples of how its "not negative", then people will change their opinion of it. Reality is that a drug, herb, or any substance is never INHERENTLY negative. For example, Fentanyl is not "bad". It has very positive uses for people/animals in severe pain. However, it is also used by people for "other" reasons.... and we hear about all the deaths related to people who have died when its used outside of a hospital setting, monitored by doctors.
7-OH has been described to be more similar to the pain meds that were over prescribed in the past versus what people describe about their use of plain leaf. Addictive personality or not, humans in general WANT to feel good. We will lie to ourselves to justify, to minimize risks and consequences, and continue doing what we want.
Many people have turned to plain leaf to ESCAPE addiction to actual opiates.....and now they are being offered something that has the potential to bring them BACK to what they escaped from, while trying to downplay the potential risks by saying how 7-OH originates from kratom leaf. Its like a person used to drinking tea made from the poppy flower and then they are offered heroin and told that its just as safe as the tea. "Safe as long as you dont have an 'addictive personality'". Nevermind that the compounds present in the flower have been mechanically separated and the most potent compound has been isolated. For this reason, it is, IMO, INCREDIBLY dangerous to equate plain leaf and 7-oh.
Lastly, the REASON plain leaf users are upset to hear 7-oh advocacy is BECAUSE the people MAKING the laws are inaccurately equating the two products and threatening to ban it ALL. Plus, I come on this forum to hear plain leaf recs. I have no interest in trying the synthetic isolates because I dont want to risk a debilitating addiction. Maybe if I was 80 years old and needed something for pain....

terposton, not to stoke the embers of fear but I just posted an article from Wired[.]com in a thread on General Kratom Discussion that was published 2 days prior (June 15th, 2026) describing a potential 7-Oh ban involving the FDA, R.F.K., and others. :? I am pessimistic that plain leaf Kratom's days of being legal are numbered but I hope I am wrong.

-The weird, self conscious demoralizing feeling of when you post something and no one replies. Then you are no longer feeling encouraged to post. I would take a break, come back and see no movement. Yes, I needed help and suggestions and feedback and reviews, but meanwhile, MeWe was weakening at the same time.

-Vendor loss. We could go through a whole list if we wanted, and this was a long time ago but losing Botanical Bunny was brutal for me. Then, not in chronological order, Heavenleaf, Dennette, and Liza died. I do not know the status of Rhino but I don't hear anything about the actual leaf, just on MeWe I get the sense that some vendors are enjoying being parents and vendorship doesn't come first. I believe this extends to Wildcraft and perhaps other vendors I will not mention that have slowed down and their menus are frozen in time. Not sure if anyone noticed, but Treasure House had to close because of the ban in CT. All these small vendors that seemed to pop out of nowhere are not lasting or I don't hear too much from them. Folks here often talk about a specific vendor offering 'pumps' that people seem to really like, but I'm a Luddite and want green powder in a bag that has been tested. Someone posted about RVA. Try him? If you are into the high mitra thing, the Red Hulu has consistently posed the highest red mitra % and last I knew, was a day red. It is worth the order. That said, I have gone out on a limb and made orders and have a big box of stuff I cannot use and never will. Again, old timey me: I can't really do extract or liquid extract, which I have gotten both as a generous freebie or for other reasons, and a giant box full of greens, some whites, or blends that I just can't swing. I also don't do fermented reds, so where I order from has become so extremely important. I don't know what to do with all the extra I cannot use, and if I go on a leaf and make purchases from vendors I'm not totally secure with, I will end up adding to the infinity stash.

-I would love to either try and revitalize the community by us like, making a post a day for 30 days to see if we can bring it back to life. (Just don't mock my crappy reviews, I'm trying). Otherwise, I suggest a group chat of vintage people, vintage members, the engaged and those who feel like they are sad and like they lost a community.

-Another thought: some in this community are kratomites because of pain and medical conditions. Mine has grown much, much worse. There are days where it is hard to even move my thumbs across a board, but I am isolated and miss the folks I knew from Double M and even before that, Reddit but even before that, Kratom Connoisseurs and ILoveKratom dot com. I have been in this forever. The reality is, the last three years I was running around at top speed because of my partner's breast cancer. She was supposed to die. She hasn't yet. Now I am the one doing badly. I don't want to just disappear and not have people know what happened to me. I need to will my stash, dammit!

So, we either pump this place with a 30 day participation challenge or swap contact info for a group chat/forum. Unless you are happy with 7OH and doing your thing...and if leaf is now illegal in your state, I can't imagine the pain you are going through but we do need a deep dive, as the kids call it now, into other herbals that can help or work similarly. I believe part of Drew from DTE's master plan is to expand his offerings to include kratom alternatives. I think it's wise if we all become familiar with them. I actually tried to go back to prescription meds in the past month, and they don't work. At all. Kratom actually works better for me than the very stuff they try to scare people about on the news. I don't know if I am immune, but that other stuff I shant name is like taking a Tylenol that actually works, but that is all. My pain levels are high, probably higher than humans should actually have and I can't afford insurance. I don't want to talk about it. I'm losing hair and muscle mass and look like I'm dying. Between caregiving and not having the resources, despite having a chronic and congenital illness, haven't seen a doctor in 4 years. The kind of pain I have had become more complex and is worsening, and I'm fully aware there may be a big, big problem. I am trying to fight to get the insurance back, but there is only so much my slumped over body can do--thank you, day reds, for making the minimal expectations possible.

There are some signs. I don't have a good feeling about this. But I will stick around if others will, and if I'm shouting into the void, I will ask if you want to about I a separate void with me so I feel less like I'm trying to be seen. I will review leaf. The reviews will suck, but you know what is better? Sucky reviews that are written without heart. I don't see this place as a means to an end to get in the Trading Post. Sorry if it sounds bitter. I'm actually not bitter at all, but sore and just want the old days where people wrote about kratom they tried. Off to write a craptastic review now, and ask I guess that will possibly get dusty. Here we go.

I love who I love and you know who you are.
Ahhh.... Miss Angelica. You're real - I like that. Welcome to old age. Aches & pains, doctors don't help even if you can get your insurance back, life starts gettin' scary, & you keep forgetting things. Sorry to hear about your struggles. I have 'em, too. I just found out someone tried to buy $1200 worth of Universal Studio tickets on my credit card! Yikes! Fortunately Chase denied the purchase & contacted me immediately, but now I can't pay bills nor groceries while waiting for a new credit card, THEN I'll have to get online & update every single account & vendor I use. What a PAIN! I thought AutoPay was supposed to be a good invention.

I've been looking up that vendor you told me about, Entheo...something or other. It looks like he sells all kratom from harvests in years 2024 & 2025. He must not have a big customer base for product to hang around that long or he went out of business but left his website up. I'm going to email him & see if he's still active & maybe try some of his kratom, altho' after 2 years his best must certainly be gone by now.

I have to agree on the drop in quantity and quality of postings. i am sad that the 7 Oh has even entered the picture. i used to come here to hear about reveiews and new vendors. i srill use Bennies and have tried for ages to get on TFH to no avail.
But regarding the forum: it is so difficult to even get the latest posta. Everything looks the same and some of thes postings are 100 years old. I wish the new posts were right up top. Its so hard to even find anything.
If you need any help with design, I am willing to help.

Maybe it is just the “Enshittification” of everything right now. The internet , Google, Apple, Amazon, advertising, Instagram, social media…it has all become super ennoying and not helpful anymore. Probably thanks to the handful of crazy people who are running and ruining the country right now… and I am not even talking about republicans or Democrats, but the people who pay them… see above

Ok, sorry we were talking about Kratom right? Now they are trying to get rid of it. 7 Oh was not a good move. I wish they didnt even offer it it has given Kratom a bad name.
What happenned to DTE? I have a bunch if their stuff and its super speedy.
I prefer slow reds let let me focus and take away my ADD.
I also have stuff from Wildcraft, Oties, Smileytime, Mitra Man, threw lots of old stuff in my garden to feed the plants.

Lmk if you have any good sources and especially how to join TFH

Thanks
S

I know a lot of helpful options like this are buried. This is old-school forum software. I'd like to swap to a more modern platform but I don't know if a migration is even worth it. People generally hate change and changing the board to different software may alienate current users.

Just for the record:

1) I'm still here! 😂 But I also just had a TAVR heart valve procedure, which resulted in my heart stopping (briefly) that night and my getting a permanent pacemaker 😋 I'll be back to normal shortly...

2) As someone who designed and built software systems for a living for 35 years, I get what e_poison is saying - a lot of work goes into migrating any system to a different platform, and if that system isn't really thriving it could end up being a lot of work for nothing.

3) This forum is actually a pretty nice rendition of the old-school Bulletin Board software - I've seen a LOT worse, and I applaud e_poison for what he's done here. If DoubleM was mine, I'd only change platforms if it was seriously growing and thriving again for a couple of years.

4) I really miss all the folks from the five or so years I've been here - I was brand new to kratom when I came here in 2021, and I credit Double M Herbals (and its members) for greatly changing my life for the better. I have some pretty bad osteoarthritis, and kratom has been a God-send for me - Laura at HeavenLeaf named her "company" accurately! (she's another one I miss)

5) e_poison & herbalhippie - love ya both, please keep up the GREAT work!

I’m glad the procedure went well! I was born with a congenital heart defect (have had it my whole life) but thankfully have only had to do 1 heart cath. It has caused some issues for me, so I know how stressful heart related health stuff can be. Glad you are fixed up and healing!

You are spot on about the forum migration. It’s something I’ve been debating for years but it’s so much work. We still get quite a bit of traffic but participation isn’t what it used to be due to lots of different factors such as google using Ai summaries now, and also almost everything being on social media these days. Not to mention 7oh dividing the community and consumer pool.

But we’re still here and kicking lol.
