Excellent points,Playerpiano72 wrote:This should be an interesting experiment. In theory, I am in favor of decriminalization of all substances- the government shouldn't have a say of what you put into your own body- but I wonder how it would work in practice.

I agree jail is not the answer for addicts and jail does not save lives. The entire AA and NA programs are a joke as well. The whole recovery industry needs an overhaul.Playerpiano72 wrote:I lived in a relatively small city in about 2015 when the fentanyl came. Every week someone else overdosed and died...just on my block. I didn't live in the greatest part of town but still. It's extremely dangerous...you only need microgram amounts to kill you if you take it intravenously. Literally a few miniscule specks/crumbs; you can't tell it's there unless you test it, and no heroin addict is going to do that. I think it's the main reason police started carrying narcan all the time.
You should check out the UK and some other countries, they have legal heroin, but it's a program you have to qualify for. You go to a clinic three times a day and inject safely in a clean environment. It's all very controlled. It sounds super liberal, but in essence it's no different than the methadone and suboxone programs they have here.
I have to disagree with jailing people for being addicts, there should be a different program they go into. They don't deserve to be locked up with little or no medical care, and in the same place as violent offenders or people convicted as sex crimes. At the same time, I don't know how much good treatment actually does..the majority of people relapse. Don't even get me started on AA and NA.

The bible belt is tough too buddy, alot of people are much more liberal when it comes to drugs than before...but still not much progression. Athens is one of the more liberal cities in Georgia, and Atlanta is pretty liberal these days but the rest of the state still hang on to very close minded views on drugs and drug addiction.e_poison wrote:... and as always, Iowa is frozen in time and absolutely refuses to progress.
Drugs will never be decriminalized in the rust belt.

Not all of it since much of Iowa is farming, but the eastern side by the Illinois border is definitely in the rust belt. Just a bunch of ugly and crappy run down cities with abandoned buildings and grey skies.Playerpiano72 wrote:Is iowa considered part of the rust belt? Just had to ask, I'm a map nerd
Awesome, you'll get even more homeless headed your way to destroy the PNW. That scourge on such beautiful land, what a shame, it could have been avoided.BallzDeep9 wrote:Oregon becomes 1st state to Decriminalize Heroin and Meth...and Legalize psilocybin mushrooms. Yeah, he's too stupid to realize that The Netherlands, Portugal, Czechia and Switzerland have decriminalized drugs andPlayerpiano72 wrote:Don't feed the poor troll. He's looking the attention he never got as a child. Ten bucks says he loves Putin.

Not sure what U mean here? "clean earth people. It gets much wise then this", huh ?? Yes I believe Clean Earth folks are generally "wise", they listen to Scientists, doctors, teachers... you know, academics/ intelligent people who are hated by the Far Right, low-information voters?Mr. keaton wrote:Home Sweet Home for all the Vegan, clean earth people. It gets much wise then this. They are destroying public property and costing money in cleanup. With the new drug laws shit gonna get real nasty. People getting high on the streets and nodding out. Crime, you name it. And crazy ass Ted Wheeler still Seattle's mayor. Everything Democrats touch turns to shit given time.
This trolling is so bad it makes me cringe. Please get a new routine. You've just repeated what you already said earlier in this thread. If you really consider any human beings to be trash I really feel sorry for you. How can you reconcile taking kratom while Republican? Honest question.Mr. keaton wrote:What a disaster that would be. Worse then now, homeless everywhere, people shooting up in the streets. Good god this a dumb idea. The trash unfer thr overpasses is full already. Where are the adults?
